German Sprachcafé at Denizen! From A1 to B2 *Read Description
German Sprachcafé at Denizen! From A1 to B2 *Read Description
**Hi everyone!** We’ll now be meeting twice a week at Denizen House (Köpenicker Str. 40, 10179 Berlin), on **Mondays and Wednesdays**! * **Mondays:** levels A1 to B2 * **Wednesdays:** levels B1 to C1 We work with dedicated materials tailored to each level, so everyone will have a place to practice and improve. **Event schedule** * **18:00 – 18:30** Arrival and registration * **18:30 – 19:50** Sprachcafé * **19:50 – 20:00** End and clean up Please be aware that the moderated event starts at **18:30**. Before this time, we are busy setting up the space. Registrations usually take place around **18:15 / 18:20**. Participants are kindly asked **not to arrive too far in advance** at the house. If someone arrives much earlier, Denizen may ask them to pay either for a drink (consumption) or for a **day pass**, as the space is a co-working environment during the day. **Please remember, our event is only happening from 18:00 to 20:00** **How the Sprachcafé works** We use different materials to help participants gain confidence in German. Together with whiteboards and our volunteers, the Sprachcafé is based on **interactive conversations** in small groups. **Participation fee** The Sprachcafé has a **participation fee of 5 €**, which helps cover organizational costs and **includes one soft drink for free**. Tickets can be purchased directly on the day of the event, card and cash payments are accepted. As the Sprachcafé has become very popular, we now need to **limit the number of participants**. Please understand this measure; it ensures that everyone has a comfortable space to practice. We kindly ask you to be **rücksichtsvoll** and only RSVP “Yes” if you are certain you can attend. If your plans change at the last minute, please update your RSVP so someone on the waiting list can take your spot. Getting your ticket early can help secure your place. **Please note** Our event will begin **promptly** at the scheduled start time. If you arrive late, we cannot guarantee your participation, even if you have a ticket or have RSVP’d. We encourage all guests to arrive on time to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. **About Denizen** Denizen is a new-style co-working space focused on being an integral part of local communities. Located on the ground floor of the historic Eiswerk on Köpenicker Straße in Kreuzberg, Denizen House is a communal place providing work, refreshment, and recreational facilities throughout the day. Think of it as a living room for the neighborhood. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to let me know. If you’d like to contribute to this night, send me a message!

- Thibauld Weiler

Rust Berlin Talks: The next generation
Rust Berlin Talks: The next generation
Hello everyone, Due to popular request (and some other reasons, like venue availability and available organiser capacity), we’re happy to announce that the Rust Berlin talk meetups are back. This is the classic meetup format: let’s meet in the evening see 2 speakers and then spend some idle time chatting about what we heard. The first speaker for the first edition will be our co-organiser Florian Gilcher, speaking about “Unsafe demystified”, a gentle introduction into handing unsafe code properly. Soares Chen will talk about the current revision of Context Generic, their framework for context generic programming: https://contextgeneric.dev We are also available for new talks, in particular of people who never gave a public talk. We’re happy to be your first talk location. The new meetup is currently organised by Florian and Liran, who is a new co-organiser at Rust Berlin. JetBrains was so kind to offer us their office location as a default meeting point. Thank you! We’re looking forward to getting the ball rolling again! See you all on April 1st! **Line-Up** Unsafe demystified by Florian Gilcher This is a beginner- to mid-level talk that explains the basics of unsafe and how to program it. Instead of going fully into it all details of unsafe, this talk teaches you easy to digest mental frameworks to use when approaching your next unsafe code block. Supercharge Rust functions with CGP implicit arguments by Soares Chen I will give a short overview of the new implicit arguments feature for Context-Generic Programming (CGP), which enables structural typing in Rust. Some short example demos will be presented, followed by some explanation of how the feature works. **Speaker Bios** Florian Gilcher Florian Gilcher used to be part of the Rust team at several positions and served as a member of the Rust Foundation board. He is also a co-founder of the Rust Berlin meetup. Today, he’s training Rust at Ferrous Systems, a company he co-founded. Soares Chen Soares is a Rust programmer with a strong interest in functional programming, type theory, and programming language design. He is the creator of Context-Generic Programming and currently works as a Rust engineer at Tensordyne.

Saturday Afternoon Creative Coffee and Talk
Saturday Afternoon Creative Coffee and Talk
**Relax. Connect. Create. ☕** After a full week of work, meetings, study sessions and life in fast-forward, it’s time to slow down. Join us this Saturday afternoon in Berlin for a relaxed coffee hang-out where this week's agenda is good company & warm drinks. You're also invited to bring some boardgames, drawing/coloring materials (I will bring an adult coloring book) **What’s the plan?** We’ll meet in a cosy spot, draw, chat about everything and nothing, swap stories and simply enjoy the moment. No pressure. No formalities. Just a bunch of friendly people sharing a Saturday coffee. **Who’s welcome?** Everyone! Whether you’re a Berliner born and raised, newly arrived in the city, from Germany or abroad, if you like meeting open-minded folks and spending some relaxed time—come join us. **When & how?** Saturday afternoon. Detailed time and place in our Telegram group. ➡️ Join us on Telegram: [https://t.me/berlinsaturdaycoffee](https://t.me/berlinsaturdaycoffee) Hop in, say hello, and we’ll share the final details. **Why join?** * Because you deserve a break. * Because you enjoy being creative. * Because you enjoy boardgames * Because meeting new people sparks fresh energy. * Because coffee tastes even better when shared. * Because Saturday afternoons were made for this. Respect and Safety: There is always at least one organizer present at every meetup. If you ever feel unsafe or bothered by someone’s behavior, you can reach out to an organizer privately. Your identity will remain confidential, your concern will be taken seriously, and no inappropriate behavior is tolerated — anyone making others feel uncomfortable will be removed from the group immediately. We hope to see you there. Bring yourself, your smile, drawing materials, your stories—or just your comfy self. Let’s make Saturday a little more laid-back, a little more social and a lot more nice. See you soon! —Your Saturday Creative Coffee Crew ☕

Walk and Talk – Get to know your local community!
Walk and Talk – Get to know your local community!
Expats and English speakers are a big part of our city, neighborhood and our community. Walk & Talk is an opportunity for you to **meet other English-speaking people** right in your own neighborhood, without needing to travel to events at the other end of town. It is also an invitation to **get to know your local Stadtteilzentrum** Prenzlauer Berg (community center Prenzlauer Berg) and to discover more community offerings here on site! Every Sunday at 2:00pm, we meet at the Stadtteilzentrum and take a **group walk through the neighborhood** to various, interesting places. Along the way we exchange and get to know each other – stories, journeys, ideas, hobbies, tips for leisure, and more. Our meeting starts in the foyer of the Stadtteilzentrum; please be on time so you don’t get left behind! You’re welcome to announce your coming by email claudi@lifecovery.de , so we know if somebody’s missing yet. In the STZ kitchen we can **grab a coffee or a take-away tea** (we recommend to bring your own to-go cup) and get to know the space before we head out. Then we set off to explore the nearby parks or other **exciting spots in Prenzlauer Berg**. We will checkout different places week by week, so the tours will stay interesting.

For meetup #58 on Tuesday [Mar 31, 2026 19:00 CET](https://www.meetup.com/leipzig-golang/events/312537698/) we are happy to have [Akim Zmerli](https://www.linkedin.com/in/akimzmerli/) give us an intro to [beads](https://github.com/steveyegge/beads), specifically: > How agents perform long-running tasks and pass context seamlessly to each other. [Beads](https://github.com/steveyegge/beads) is a rising Go project that brings structured planning to any workflow, whether agentic or hands-on. [Akim Zmerli](https://www.linkedin.com/in/akimzmerli/) will present his favorite techniques, TUI projects and what Rob Pike thinks about the current state of affairs. The beads project is less than six months old (2025-10-11), but already well beyond 250 KLOC, with more than 200 KLOC written in Go. We are always interested in developer tools. At [#44](https://golangleipzig.space/posts/meetup-44-wrapup/), less than two years ago, not a single AI coding tool did make it to [our list](https://golangleipzig.space/posts/meetup-44-wrapup/). Looking forward to this foray into the agentic coding space. ### Schedule * 18:45 Doors open * 19:00 Welcome * 19:10 Beads * 19:45 Open discussion We’ll meet: * in person at [Basislager Leipzig](https://basislager.co), at [Peterssteinweg 14, 04107 Leipzig](https://maps.app.goo.gl/1fMkeDSPZ7Aauszh8) ([OSM](https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/3504864558)) * and online via [Jitsi](https://meet.jit.si/LeipzigGophers58) Join us to discuss SOTA dev tools and more. Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations. If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!). **HOW IT WORKS** **Step 1: Bring a topic** Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event. **Step 2: Circle up & share** We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds. **Step 3: Walk, talk & float** We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!" **Step 4: Feel more alive** Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times. *For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)* **HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC** A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about. Recent topics include: * "What are you passionate about right now?" * "What makes a good friend?" * "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?" * "How do you want to be remembered?" * "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?" Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter. **WHAT TO EXPECT** This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.* But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here. **FAQ** * Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk! * We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space. * We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space. * Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know. * Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic! **LOGISTICS** * If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event. * This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs. * Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details. * If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋 **IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...** [The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up. * This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).

How LLMs Like ChatGPT Actually Work and How to Build With Them
How LLMs Like ChatGPT Actually Work and How to Build With Them
**First meetup of the Columbus AI Engineering group.** We’ll kick things off with a practical, beginner-friendly discussion on: **How LLMs like ChatGPT actually work — and how to build real applications with them.** We’ll cover: * what’s actually happening under the hood (at a high level) * why LLMs behave the way they do (hallucinations, prompt sensitivity, etc.) * how people are building real systems with them today * where things break in practice This will be a **short, informal talk (\~15–20 min)** followed by open discussion and Q&A. Whether you’re an engineer, builder, or just curious about how modern AI systems work, you’re welcome to join. No slides, no fluff — just real conversation about real systems. We’ll hang out afterward and get to know each other.
