Thank you all for the fascinating talk on Saturday about Susanna Kaysen’s memoir, *Girl, Interrupted*. Rendezvous Bar, which we were visiting for the first time, was a great spot, but the loud music was a bit much. So, thank you all for your patience, and especially a big thank you to Elise for her wonderful and passionate introduction to the book she chose. As usual, we voted on the next book to read at the end of the event. This time, the book that won was Jane Austen’s penultimate novel, *[Persuasion](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2156.Persuasion?from_search=true&from_srp=true&qid=5O4iyF5w8n&rank=2)*. The novel was published posthumously six months after Austen’s death, at only 41 years old, in 1818. It tells the story of Anne Elliot, who, at a young age, was persuaded by friends and family to break off an engagement to Captain Wentworth. But was it the right decision? Come join us for an afternoon run/jog/walk Please note this will be an A to B trail. Trail being nearby. Remember spare warm clothes for after the famous annual eventfull trail. We are not a typical running club, so please read about the concept in “about us”. How it works: we don’t know in advance where the trail will go, but we know it will be fun! A member of the club, the 'hare', sets a trail, usually marked with flour. The rest of us, the 'pack', follows the hare's 'scent', i.e., the marks. There will be a 8-10 km trail for runners with shortcuts down to 5-6 km for walkers and those who need a slower pace. We have no set pace - run/walk as slow or as fast as you'd like. After the run we enjoy some refreshments and socialize. Come a few minutes before the start so that you can say hi and leave your bag in a designated bag car before we set off at 14:30. Many routes for all levels and a very social environment. **What Is Bouldering?** Bouldering is a type of climbing done at low heights — usually up to around 4–5 meters — **without ropes or harnesses**. Instead, there are thick mats on the floor for safety. You only need climbing shoes, which you can rent, and maybe some chalk for your hands. Climbs are short “problems” or routes that you try to solve using balance, technique, and strength. Some are easy, some are challenging, and you can always choose the level that fits you. Bouldering is also very social — people often help each other, share tips, cheer each other on, and have fun together. It’s perfect for meeting new people while getting a good workout.
