Meursault, a quiet and striking man in his early thirties, attends his mother’s funeral without shedding a tear. The next day, he begins an affair with his colleague Marie and easily falls back into his daily routine. But his everyday existence is disrupted by his neighbor, Raymond Sintès, who drags Meursault into his shady dealings. Until one scorching hot day, a fateful event takes place on the beach… When Meursault appears in court, he appears to be judged not so much for his actions as for his emotionless demeanor.
