Israel LLVM Meetup in Herzliya
Israel LLVM Meetup in Herzliya
**Join Us for the next Israel LLVM Meetup!** Weโ€™re thrilled to invite you to an exciting evening, where weโ€™ll dive deep into cutting-edge compiler technologies and hardware-aware optimizations. This meetup brings together the LLVM community for insightful talks, networking, and discussions on the future of compiler infrastructure. Expect a diverse lineup of sessions covering Triton, MLIR, and LLVM optimizations powered by hardware metrics โ€” perfect for compiler developers, performance engineers, and anyone passionate about high-performance computing. ๐Ÿ“… **Date & Time** **February 18th, 2026** โ€ข **17:00** โ€“ Arrival & Networking โ€ข **17:30** โ€“ Talks Begin โ€ข **19:00** โ€“ Wrap-up ๐Ÿ“ **Venue** [Jemโ€™s Hertzliya](https://share.google/5taousLhsVfY7ox0r) ๐ŸŽค **Speakers & Topics** **โ€ข Jonathan Cohen - Compiler Engineering Manager - Apple** Title: โ€œSupercharging Compiler Optimization Remarks with Hardware Metricsโ€ Abstract: This session demonstrates how to turn hardware counters with compiler optimization remarks into performance wins. It combines performance analysis metrics with enriched Optimization Remarks to debug and mitigate performance bottlenecks - a challenging task for compiler developers or performance engineers. **โ€ข Michael Zuckerman - AI SW Engineering Manager โ€“ Majestic Labs AI** Title: โ€œTriton for RISC-V: Bridging PyTorch to RISCV with MLIR & LLVMโ€ Abstract: Triton is a powerful open-source programming model originally developed to generate highly optimized GPU kernels for deep learning workloads. In this talk, I present an extension of Triton to target the RISC-V vector architecture, using MLIR and the LLVM toolchain as the compilation backbone. This work creates a practical bridge between modern PyTorch-based machine learning frameworks and emerging RISC-V hardware platforms, enabling efficient and portable execution of AI workloads beyond traditional GPUs. The proposed integration allows PyTorch models to be lowered end-to-end into RISC-V vector instructions, leveraging open compiler infrastructure to significantly reduce the effort required to enable new hardware targets. I will show how Triton kernels, TorchDynamo graph capture, TorchInductor scheduling, and MLIR/LLVM code generation were aligned into a unified backend that supports rapid bring-up, iterative optimization, and transparent performance tuning. This talk demonstrates how an open, modular compiler stack can accelerate the adoption of flexible hardware architectures in machine learning, while preserving high performance and developer productivity.

Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit - Barret Blake
Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit - Barret Blake
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge. **Abstract** *Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit: From Intent to Implementation* Spec-driven development flips the traditional workflow on its head: instead of code being the source of truth, the specification becomes the backbone of design, collaboration, and delivery. In this session, weโ€™ll explore how GitHub Spec-Kit enables teams to treat specifications as first-class artifactsโ€”living documents that drive architecture, implementation, and verification. Youโ€™ll learn how Spec-Kit helps teams clearly express intent using structured, version-controlled specs that live alongside code. Weโ€™ll walk through a practical workflow that starts with defining system behavior and constraints, then progressively refines those specs into testable, automatable outcomes. Along the way, weโ€™ll show how specs can reduce ambiguity, improve cross-functional collaboration, and make design decisions explicit before a single line of production code is written. This talk will cover: --What spec-driven development is (and what it isnโ€™t) --How GitHub Spec-Kit fits into modern developer workflows --Using specs to align product, engineering, and AI-assisted development --Real-world examples of turning specs into implementations with confidence Whether youโ€™re building greenfield systems, integrating AI into your stack, or trying to reduce costly rework, spec-driven development offers a scalable way to move faster without sacrificing clarity. Attendees will leave with concrete patterns and a clear mental model for adopting GitHub Spec-Kit in their own projects. **YouTube Link** TBA
