In this one-on-one consultation, you gain a better understanding of your personality strengths and weaknesses, and establish the recommended path to your fast and lasting success.
London Bridge Writers' Group - Pub Meet
London Bridge Writers' Group - Pub Meet
**The Talbot Room at the George Inn** The George provides the room free of charge (they are awesome), and we encourage you to purchase drinks (and food – the burgers are great!). As it’s a pub and not a picnic area, please don’t consume your own food and drink there. We usually meet in the Talbot room which is on the top floor on the left hand side of the pub as viewed from the courtyard. If lost please send a message here shortly before the meeting starts. **We are sorry to say that there is no step-free access to the Talbot room, and it is at the end of three flights of stairs.** **Format** We start at 7pm and run until 9pm. We hear approximately six readings of 10 minutes (\~2000 words), then discuss the piece for 10 minutes. Email your work to: london60transmitter@emailitin.com as an attachment (It must be an attachment). A link for access to googledocs will be given at the start of each session to enable people to read along, which in turn enables more considered feedback. Work submitted will be automatically deleted after 10 days. We decide on readers/pieces at the beginning of each session. **Safe and respectful space** The group is run by volunteers, and we don’t have the capacity to read submitted work in advance. If there is anything in your work that might distress or disturb some readers, for example concerning any kind of abuse, please give a trigger warning before you read. Be specific and concise. If it becomes apparent during a reading that a piece is inappropriate, the moderator will stop the reading. In discussing others’ work, please be mindful of how you express yourself and do not use discriminatory language, even if such language features in the piece.

London daytime testing at Waterloo
London daytime testing at Waterloo
We playtest all sorts of tabletop games - strategic, silly, creative, or whatever (but not video games). Some games are almost done. Some are very early ideas. We test anything that will fit into 90 minutes. You don't need to bring a game - we always love to have new playtesters! Please let us know in the comments when you plan to arrive/leave and whether you are bringing a game or not. This helps us to plan the day better. The schedule is: 10am onwards - gathering, chatting 11am sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 1') 12:30ish - break for food/chat 1pm sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 2') 2:30ish - break for food/chat 3pm sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 3') 4:30ish - finish up Often, we might hang around afterwards, to play some already-published games. We are strict on timings, so please try to arrive a few minutes before the session to limit disruption. You can just come for part of the day if you wish. The reason we have fixed timings for the 3 'slots' is to make it easier for folk to do so. Designers of all levels of experience are welcome! But if it's your first time, we ask that you don't bring a game and just spend some time learning how the group works. The group works based on reciprocation. If you expect to test your own game, make sure stay for long enough to play other games. As a general rule of thumb, you can expect to play one of your own games every third 90-minute session. So if you stay a whole day (3 sessions), you can expect to have one session to play your game(s). A good rule of thumb is that if you come all day, you will have one 90 minute session with two other playtesters in which to test your own games. It is sometimes possible to test games with more players. If your game requires 4 or more, please note that as standard you will be allocated half of a session (45 minutes). Pre-covid, we were getting unmanageable. As a result, we may have to limit attendees. This is a free-to-use venue, and we have to be mindful that other folk want to use the same space. Please note: This is an adults only event. We look forward to seeing you!
In Person: CoffeeOps
In Person: CoffeeOps
We are back! This is going to be a monthly IN PERSON meet up in London. A very big thank you goes to Accurx who is hosting us in their amazing Shoreditch offices. This will include access to facilities including coffee! 😻☕️ **Want to know more? 👇** As with all CoffeeOps, this is an interactive, chatty, build your own adventure type of meet-up. Instead of booking in experts to *learn* *from*, we gather a group of practitioners to ***learn*** ***with***. We have been running for over 4 years now and often get feedback that this is the most useful meetup people join! The event is approximately 90 minutes and always starts by brainstorming topics to discuss. The group then votes on the most relevant/interesting to them and we then cycle through the topics trying to discuss each deeply, but in a time bound slot. To get an idea of topics, you can check out our remote board [here](https://easyretro.io/publicboard/h404NF84Uje4tCcxpJdHr4Ycs9B3/a4a35d2b-181b-409b-832e-a729be1af79c). The general gist is anything is fair game, though we tend to revolve around software delivery and definitely lean towards the more Ops-y or DevOps-y side of things.
Indoor Climbing at the Westway
Indoor Climbing at the Westway
The London Mountaineering Club's weekly club night at Westway takes place every Tuesday. There will be many more of us at the wall than listed on this event. To find us, look for people wearing an LMC T-shirt. This is a friendly meetup for competent climbers (at all levels of aspiration) to find people to climb with. If you have not climbed at Westway before, you will need to pass Westway's safety test before you can climb unsupervised. If you are unsure whether the centre will allow you to climb unsupervised please message the event organiser on Meetup in advance. We may be able to arrange supervision for you to climb without passing the test but this depends on club members being available to supervise and places will be limited. The London Mountaineering Club does not charge for this event but you will need to pay the entry fee to Westway and for any gear hired. Details of the Westway climbing wall are available on the [Everyone Active website](https://www.everyoneactive.com/centre/westway-sports-fitness-centre/climbing/) including [prices](https://www.everyoneactive.com/centre/westway-sports-fitness-centre/?activitySearch=casual%20climb).

AI Exchange June Ft. Wayve, Cato Networks & Coralogix
AI Exchange June Ft. Wayve, Cato Networks & Coralogix
Join us on Thursday 9th July for our next AI Exchange event, hosted by Coralogix at their London HQ in Devonshire Square. Pioneers of autonomous driving, **[Wayve](https://wayve.ai/),** are exploring how Agentic AI can be integrated into software development in a measurable and trustworthy way. **[Cato Networks](https://www.catonetworks.com/)** are applying AI to one of cybersecurity's most overlooked problems: the hidden risks buried within complex security policies. Finally our hosts **[Coralogix](https://coralogix.com/)** are addressing a challenge many engineering teams are beginning to face: AI coding agents are becoming part of everyday development, but very few organisations have visibility into how they're actually performing. **\*\*The date for this event has now changed and will take place on Thursday 9th July. Please make sure you head to the to [AI Exchange Meetup page](https://www.meetup.com/ai-exchange/events/315038797/?eventOrigin=group_upcoming_events) to register for this event\*\*** As always, doors open at 6:30pm and talks start at 7pm sharp. We have another tight capacity for this event, so please RSVP as soon as you can to secure your space. **Agenda:** **[Lewis Isaac](https://www.linkedin.com/in/lewisjamesisaac/) @ [Coralogix](https://coralogix.com/)** **Who’s Watching the Agents? Observability for AI-Assisted Development** Code agents are already in your engineering workflow. The problem is that most organisations still have no visibility into what those agents are actually doing. How many tokens are they consuming? How long are tasks taking? Are they introducing regressions? Are they measurably improving delivery, or just creating the feeling of progress? The gap between “we have AI tooling” and “we understand our AI tooling” is where most teams are stuck right now. In this talk, I will show you how OpenTelemetry can be used to instrument code agent workflows end-to-end, and how Coralogix Code Agents Observability brings all of those signals -token usage, cost, task duration, and code quality impact - into a single view. *Bio: Our speaker will be Lewis Isaac, Dev Relations @Coralogix bio Lewis is a Developer Advocate at Coralogix, where he works closely with developers to explore smarter approaches to observability and how deep technical telemetry can be connected to meaningful business and user outcomes. Prior to joining Coralogix, he was a Tech Lead at IBM, where he led the technical delivery of mobile application projects for clients including BP and a major UK bank.* **[Dave Kirk](https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-kirk-jr/) @ [Wayve](https://wayve.ai/)** **Agentic Code Review @ Wayve** At Wayve, we have been pursuing an approach to Agentic workflows that prioritises observability and evaluation of quality of work. Our Agentic Code Review pipeline has been at the forefront of this initiative. In this talk, we'll discuss some of the approaches and lessons learned over the past four months of operating this pipeline *Bio: Dave Kirk has been programming for over 20 years, and doing so professionally for a decade. His career has primarily been focused on cloud infrastructure and development workflows. He is now the lead engineer in Wayve's effort to adopt agentic AI as an impactful part of our SDLC and beyond.* **[Avidan Avraham](https://www.linkedin.com/in/avidan-avraham-04416498/) @ [Cato Networks](https://www.catonetworks.com/)** **Autonomous Policies Using LLMs to Sweep Up Misconfigs** Security policies and engines today are complex ecosystems - not just defined by rigid, structured configurations but also by many layers of free-text and meta-data that tell the real story behind a rule or a configuration. Traditional configuration analysis can flag obvious issues, yet it often overlooks the contextual “crumbs” left behind by temporary fixes, ad-hoc tweaks, or legacy testing exercises. These remnants, much like orphaned data in a software system, can create unexpected vulnerabilities that attackers are eager to exploit. In this talk, I introduce a pioneering AI-driven strategy inspired by the concept of a software Garbage Collector. Just as a Garbage Collector continuously cleans up memory leaks, our AI agent proactively sifts through the meta-configuration, analyzing unstructured fields—free-text names, descriptions, annotations, and even multilingual notes—to identify contextual misconfigurations before they evolve into high-risk liabilities. Advanced NLP is key: semantic analysis decodes the intent behind free-text entries, while contextual classification organizes policy components by interpreting diverse cues. This integrated approach detects anomalies that traditional tools may miss, shifting policy management from static settings to dynamic, context-rich narratives that reveal hidden security gaps. We hope to see you there for another great AI filled evening! **Sponsors...** The AI Exchange is brought to you in partnership with[ LinuxRecruit](https://www.linuxrecruit.co.uk/) and[ AWS.](https://aws.amazon.com/) LinuxRecruit is building the next wave of Tech Unicorns in Europe. In this talk I'll walk through three real runs of Ralph on my own codebase, from a 24 minute one-shot that shipped subtle bugs to a two and a half hour run where the agents actually caught and fixed their own mistakes. You'll see what made the difference (spoiler: it wasn't the loop), and why the human still isn't going anywhere just yet. **[Avidan Avraham](https://www.linkedin.com/in/avidan-avraham-04416498/) @ [Cato Networks](https://www.catonetworks.com/)** **Autonomous Policies Using LLMs to Sweep Up Misconfigs** Security policies and engines today are complex ecosystems - not just defined by rigid, structured configurations but also by many layers of free-text and meta-data that tell the real story behind a rule or a configuration. Stop Guessing: How to Measure and Improve LLM Outputs
Stop Guessing: How to Measure and Improve LLM Outputs
Most people use LLMs by feel: ask a question, read the answer, decide whether it “seems good,” and move on. That works for casual use. It does not work when you are building software, automating workflows, writing important documents, or relying on AI for anything that needs to be repeatable. In this talk, we’ll look at how to improve and evaluate the inputs and outputs of LLMs using practical measurement techniques. We’ll cover how prompt changes affect results, how to compare outputs, how to build simple evaluation sets, and how math-based methods like similarity scoring can help you move beyond guesswork. This will be beginner-friendly, so even if you don't know anything about AI, you should get something out of it. However, this will be a little more technical than our intro talks. You do not need to be an AI researcher, but programmers and technically curious attendees will get a lot out of it. We’ll cover: * Why “it looks good” is not enough * How to improve prompts by changing the input, context, and constraints * How to compare LLM outputs more systematically * Basic evaluation techniques for accuracy, consistency, and usefulness * How embeddings, cosine similarity, and scoring can help evaluate results * Where automated evaluation works — and where humans still need to stay in the loop By the end, you’ll have a practical mental model for treating LLMs less like magic and more like systems you can test, measure, and improve. LOGISTICS AND PARKING: The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks! The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.

**\*\*\* We've Moved! Bold Penguin - 6555 Longshore St, Dublin, OH 43017 \*\*\*** Talk by ## [Kyle Jenkins](https://www.linkedin.com/in/kyle-jenkins/) **Unpacking Process Anti-Patterns: Lessons from Ideation to Delivery** In the fast-paced world of software engineering, processes often shape success or sow frustration. Over the years, recurring anti-patterns have emerged well-meaning practices that unintentionally create inefficiencies, stifle innovation, or harm team dynamics. These pitfalls, though rooted in good intentions, can derail projects and undermine trust when left unchecked. Through real-world examples and two decades of industry experience, this presentation unpacks common process anti-patterns across the software lifecycle. With a focus on fostering understanding, not blame, we’ll examine how flawed workflows contribute to challenges and how reversing them can empower teams to build clarity, creativity, collaboration, and trust. **AGENDA:** * See updates to parking below * Doors open at 5:30, feel free to come and hang out before! * Official start of the meeting is at 6:30pm * After the meeting is done, we will go hang out at a nearby space in Bridge Park!
