这个月份最大的挑战就是极端的泠。你到了后可能会后悔,不去就是终身的后悔。就来一次你人生最大的泠挑战吧❗️ 💨💨⛄️⛄️☃️☃️🥶🥶
Visiting Mohe, China, in January offer a unique Arctic adventure with an **immersive Arctic fairytale**. With glowing ice castles, silent snowy forests, potential glimpses of the aurora, and deeply rooted winter traditions, it’s a journey that awakens all the senses and stays in your memory for a lifetime.
**Harbin and Mohe** in January offer a **magical, once-in-a-lifetime winter experience** that feels like stepping into a snow globe world. Despite the extreme cold, these destinations offer extraordinary beauty and cultural richness during this time with strong Siberian vibes.
* **Harbin**, known as China's Ice City, transforms into a stunning winter wonderland each January with ice festivals, snow sculptures, and rich Russian-Chinese culture.
* **Mohe is the only place in China** where the Northern Lights can *sometimes* be seen in January on clear nights. [depends on our luck]
* Pair that with the Milky Way and stargazing in total Arctic silence — truly awe-inspiring.
**Changbaishan** is a majestic volcanic mountain range in northeastern China, famed for its stunning natural beauty, alpine scenery, and the iconic Tianchi (Heaven Lake) crater lake. Rich in biodiversity and cultural significance, it offers hot springs, waterfalls, & ski resorts, making it a year-round destination for nature lovers and adventurers alike.
**Changchun** is a vibrant city in northeastern China, offering a mix of history, culture, and winter charm for tourists. Known as the "Detroit of China" for its automotive legacy, it's also home to the Puppet Emperor’s Palace, reflecting its unique Manchurian-Japanese past. Visitors can explore Soviet-era architecture, serene parks, and ice festivals in winter. With friendly locals, hot northeastern cuisine, and a growing arts scene, Changchun provides a laid-back yet enriching travel experience in China’s cold northeast. It is the **ideal springboard for Changbai Mountain**.
More **highlights** at the **daily** 𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲.
**Can I join alone?**

But if you are the last Solo to join and all the roommates are paired already, be prepared to pay for a single room. We are unable to guarantee the quality or character of your roommate. *If you prefer to have your room, please specify that when signing up & make the extra top-ups.*
**Who's suitable?**
Active & healthy beginners who are more tolerant of bitter cold and inconveniences with it. Need to be flexible with accommodations in remote places like Mohe area.

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for January is "Chemistry"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 7:00 pm, show starts at 7:30 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!

DINNER PLAN: The new burger place isn’t open yet but we’ll still try someplace new! And someplace where the cuisine matches the film! Join us immediately following the movie at nearby TAKOREA, located just downstairs and next to the theater! We’ll try to grab the trio of tables just inside the door, which should work perfectly for our group!
MENU: From small plates to tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and bowls, they have a wildly inventive menu that offers a “Korean-Mexican fusion concept” that serves “delicious food that everyone can enjoy!” Popular entrees include tacos, nachos and burritos made with Bulgogi beef, pork carnitas, Korean fried chicken, and even BBQ Tofu, along with traditional sides, chips and a variety of dips. For the vegans in the group, the BBQ Tofu Burrito is listed as “vegan friendly” and that combo of ingredients can be used in just about any entrée! And, if you’re not into Korean food, they have several straight-Mexican options as well! You can check out their menu here: https://www.takoreacbus.com/menu
PARKING: Close, convenient parking is available in the nearby garage (located between 9th and 11th, just off High St). Bring your ticket with you and have it validated at the theater and for $2, you’re covered for the night!

While we continue to pursue a more permanent venue for this Meetup, we’ll be using public library facilities based on availability.
This session will be at the Worthington Park Library in the Olentangy Meeting Room.
