From Revolution to Rights: A Community Constitution Conversation
What did “freedom” mean at the founding of America—and how has that vision evolved over time?
Join us at **Unity of Fairfax** for an engaging community conversation featuring experts from the **National Constitution Center** as we explore the connection between the American Revolution and the continuing story of civil rights and liberties in the United States.
Together, we’ll reflect on the founding ideals of liberty, representation, and individual rights—and examine how those ideas have been challenged, expanded, and reinterpreted throughout American history.
This discussion offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the Constitution while engaging thoughtfully with questions that still shape our society today.
Whether you love history, value civic dialogue, or simply want to better understand the principles behind America’s freedoms, you are warmly welcome.
We'll be in Classroom 1, or you can join us online, via our[ Zoom link](https://constitutioncenter.zoom.us/meeting/register/hc_8FV8yTv6s4DH-i0lMLA).

FAQs
**What is the cost for the events?**
All Sahaja Yoga meditation events, classes, and workshops are offered free of cost and are open to all. Just as one cannot pay nature to sprout a seed, in the same way, Sahaja Yoga is a living process that cannot be paid for.
**What should I wear?**
We do not have a dress code, but recommend any decent, comfortable wear or smart casual wear.
**What do you typically do at a workshop or event?**
Our events are varied and diverse ranging from music and meditation to cultural and spiritual exhibitions and other creative explorations. We offer meditation at all our events. Depending on the event, our workshop focuses on a particular topic and then we provide guided meditation and offer simple techniques to maintain balance. These techniques may include the use of elements such as water and light that make the meditative experience very enjoyable. We also have time for questions and individual queries and teach how to meditate at home at each workshop..
**Do I need to bring anything?**
No, you’re fine. Just walk in and enjoy the event!
**I haven’t RSVP’d, can I still come for the event?**
Yes, you can, although we recommend you Register to make sure we have seats for you.
**I’ve attended a workshop. What next?**
To take full advantage of your experience with meditation, the next step would be to attend any of our regular meetings as we offer ongoing classes. Consider that when a plant is given water, it grows strong and healthy. In the same way, meditation cleanses and harmonizes one’s being, so attending a weekly collective meditation is the best way to bring lasting peace and well-being. We still encourage you to attend our diverse events that may appeal to you. There is always something interesting going on, so keep stopping by or checking our website.
**What is Sahaja Yoga?**
Sahaja Yoga is a meditation breakthrough founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi in 1970 and is based on ancient principles for the modern world. It begins with the awareness of one’s individual energy called, ‘kundalini.’ Once the kundalini is awakened within, the process of meditation becomes effortless and spontaneous, and this leads to complete peace and balance in life. With balance comes lasting joy and well-being of mind, body, emotions and spirit.

Tech & Truth Café
An open space for real conversation about how technology is shaping our world, and how we can respond with wisdom, purpose, and values.
## COMING UP:
## Life with Augmented Intelligence
**Shaping how we live, work, and build in an AI-driven world**
From assistants → to collaboration → to autonomous systems
***
**A different way of thinking, working, building.**
Most people are still using AI at the surface.
Answers. Shortcuts. Quick help.
But underneath, work is starting to look different:
* systems instead of tasks
* collaboration instead of commands
* design instead of effort
This is a space to step into that.
Not a workshop.
Not a panel.
A place to see what’s emerging, hear how others are thinking, and explore what it means for your own life and work.

👉 Turn Your Lived Experience Into Multiple Books Using AI (Ashburn)
**Saturday • May 16 • 2–5 PM • Ashburn, VA**
Many people say they want to write a book someday — **this session helps you start.**
Your life experiences already contain stories, lessons, and insights that could become books. The real challenge is **how to organize those experiences and actually turn them into writing.**
In this interactive session, I’ll share the approach I’m using to build a **multi-book journey based on lived experience.**
So far I have:
📚 **3 books published on Amazon**
📖 **1 more books releasing this year** (end of the year)
📝 **16 additional books planned** — and likely many more.
This session is not about writing **just one book**.
We’ll explore how your experiences can evolve into **multiple books over time**, and how to **use AI the right way to speed up your writing while keeping your voice authentic.**
***
### What We’ll Explore
• Turning life experience into book ideas
• How one journey can become multiple books
• Simple ways to structure stories and lessons
• Using **AI to organize ideas and speed up writing**
• Practical strategies to actually finish a book
**Everyone will leave with the outline of their first book idea.**
**You don’t need writing experience — just curiosity about how your life experiences might turn into ideas worth sharing.**
***

💵 **$25 RSVP — includes coffee + snacks**
📍 **Ashburn, VA** (exact address shared after RSVP)

# Background — Writing & Reinvention Journey
Writing has been one of the most powerful tools in my own reinvention journey.
What began as reflections during a difficult life transition gradually evolved into published books and a growing body of work focused on reinvention, personal growth, and life transitions.
My goal is not just to write books — but to help others realize that their experiences may also hold stories worth sharing.

ASL Sunday Silent Social at Fairfax's Wegmans
Whether you're Deaf, HoH, an interpreter, an ASL student, or just want to learn or practice American Sign Language (ASL), we welcome all levels of signers to come join us for an evening of ASL socializing and practice.
This event occurs on the first and third Sundays of every month, in the heart of Fairfax County at the Fairfax Wegman's (corner of Route 29 and Monument Drive). We can be found on the upper level, typically near the stairs. We generally start around 7 pm.
ASL beginners are welcome, but you should know the ASL alphabet and some basic signs - this is not an ASL class, but the more experienced signers are generally happy to help beginners learn and improve. There is no better way to develop your signing skills than by joining the conversation with other signers. There is a place for everyone to join, learn and practice. Regardless, we are always welcoming so don’t be discouraged to attend; this is very informal and new folks are always welcome.
Note, some attendees arrive early and grab some of Wegman’s food for dinner, so you can combine a shopping trip with the ASL practice.
