Rusalka (Bord Gáis Energy Theatre)
Plan to have a pre-show drink at the Bard Gais Energy Theatre, if anyone feels like joining. I'll add more information closer to the date.
Please buy your own ticket here: [https://www.bordgaisenergytheatre.ie/show/rusalka/](https://www.bordgaisenergytheatre.ie/show/rusalka/)
Driven by her consuming love for a human prince, water nymph **RUSALKA** abandons her realm to navigate his mortal world. A tale of longing, transformation and the high cost of desire, Dvořák’s rich, lyrical score brings this darkly poetic fairy tale to life with the iconic *Song to the Moon* at its heart.
Irish National Opera’s new production features a world-class cast, with Irish soprano **Jennifer Davis** in the title role. A rising star on the international stage, her performance in INO’s *Faust* (2023) was praised as “exquisite and vibrantly emotional” (Sunday Independent).
New York tenor **Ryan Capozzo** is the Prince, with American mezzo-soprano **Michelle DeYoung** as the witch Ježibaba and Croatian bass **Ante Jerkunica** as Rusalka’s father, Vodník. Soprano **Giselle Allen** is the Foreign Princess with baritone **Benjamin Russell** as the Gamekeeper. Completing the ensemble are sopranos **Rachel Croash** and **Sarah Richmond** and mezzo-soprano **Alexandra Urquiola** as the Wood Nymphs.
Direction and design are by the visionary **Netia Jones**, who co-created and directed INO’s Olivier award nominated *Least Like The Other, Searching for Rosemary Kennedy.* INO’s Artistic Director **Fergus Sheil** conducts the INO orchestra and chorus.
*Rusalka* is sung in Czech with English surtitles.
Sound healing, Meditation & Connection in Dublin 12
Saturday 28th of march at 12:00pm give yourself the gift of sound & stillness✨💜

Small group sessions are held in my home Sanctuary in Dublin 12.
This is a payed session a 30 euros energy exchange applies, to confirm your attendance you must email to info@soundsouljourney.com and a 10 euros deposit must be payed
A Sound Journey is a deeply restorative experience designed to harmonize your energy, promote relaxation, and facilitate healing.
What to Expect in the Session:
Gentle Pranayama (Breathwork) – We begin with simple breathing exercises to open the energy channels (nadis) in the body, preparing you to receive the benefits of sound and Reiki. This helps calm the nervous system and cultivate a state of presence.
Guided Meditation with Sound & Vibrations – As you settle into relaxation, you will be guided through a meditation accompanied by the soothing tones of Tibetan bowls. Their vibrations help bring balance to your energy centers (chakras) and deepen your meditative state
Himalayan Bowl Healing – the sound healer will use Himalayan bowls near or on the body, allowing the vibrations and specific frequencies to work at a cellular level restoring balance to you fisical, emotional and mental levels
Closing Sound Bath – The session concludes with an immersive sound bath, where a combination of instruments—such as Tibetan bowls, chimes, gongs, drums ...—create a soothing soundscape, allowing your mind and body to fully integrate the healing experience.
By the end of the session we'll enjoy a cup of yogi tea, time to share, connect and integrate the practice.
No previous experience is needed, just bring your intention and I'll provide everything else

Swords Castle and Community Park Photo Walk
We'll meet inside the courtyard of **Swords Castle** at **11:30AM**, where we can start by making a few photos around the site. After the castle, we'll head through the small community park behind the castle, where we'll see a small well at the far end.
This will probably be quite a short walk, even counting time spent stopping to take photos. Afterwards we can head up the Swords main street, which offers up the potential for some street photography, as well as coffee and Lunch.
Flesh by David Szalay

FREE Improv Comedy drop-in - Delaware
It's happening again!
**WHAT:**
Free Improv Drop-in. No experience needed / beginner friendly! (18+ for now; plans for a "kids and parents" drop-in are in the works)
**TIME & PLACE:**
Sunday 1:30pm - 3pm
Delaware Library - 84 E Winter St, Delaware, OH 43015
in the Community Room
**WHAT TO BRING:**
Punctuality, yourself, a good attitude, and a willingness to have fun and be a bit silly and goofy around others. That's it!
**WHAT THIS IS:**
A time for fun and exploration. We're going to do improv warm-up exercises and play silly improv games. Think of it as "dipping your toe" into improv comedy.
**WHAT THIS IS NOT:**
Deep improv training with scene work; a place of judgement or worrying what others think; a place where you're expected to know what you're doing.
Please mention in the comments if you're planning on attending or use the "attending/interested" function; it really helps me plan the class depending on the amount of people participating.
Feel free to comment / spread the word / message me if you have any questions. Thanks!
ALSO: Please don't take the amount of people marked going as the # that will be there; I post this on FB groups, Reddit, and Nextdoor, so I always have at least 3 - 6 people for games. Join us!
Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!
Shut Up & Write!™ Easton Town Center
We'll meet at The Capital One Café, 167 Easton Town Center, Space A-103. This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator.
Join us on Saturday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking!
• What we'll do
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros.
10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you!
• What to bring
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible.
See you at The Café on Saturday!
Arthouse Friday: THE DRAMA at the Drexel Theatre!
Join us as we get together for an Arthouse Movie Friday event to see the A24 dark comedy /romance / psychological-thriller, THE DRAMA! The film stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson as a happily engaged couple whose relationship is challenged when one discovers unsettling truths about the other. Here are details, a trailer and our plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: The film follows a happily engaged couple whose relationship is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails. The film comes from A24, is written/directed by Kristoffer Borgli stars Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates and Zoë Winters.
QUICK WORD OF WARNING: The film hasn’t screened for critics yet and most of the details are being kept tightly under wraps. But, early buzz (possibly promotional) says the film is a brilliant psychological thriller/romance but also provocative, twisty and some contains occasional uncomfortable viewing! I love the cast and trailer, so look forward to seeing for ourselves!
ZENDAYA-PATTINSON TRIFECTA CHALLENGE: Robert Pattinson and Zendaya will star in THREE movies together this year, including THE DRAMA, Christopher Nolan’s THE ODYSSEY this Summer and Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE: PART THREE at Christmas!
TRAILER: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zmKcUa4Xxk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zmKcUa4Xxk)
PLAN: We’ll plan for 7pm-ish showing and will meet in the lobby area about 30 minutes before showtime! Advance ticket purchase not required for this theater but early arrival is advised. Possibly post-movie get-together at the nearby Rusty Bucket! Complete details will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer.
Take care and look forward to seeing you there, Dan
Discount Tuesday: THEY WILL KILL YOU at the Gateway Film Center!
Join us as we get together for a Discount Tuesday / Choose Your Movie event to see your choice of two great films! Option 1 is the dark comedy/drama based on a true story TOW! The film stars Rose Byrne as a homeless Seattle woman how battles a towing company. Option 2 is the off-the-rails, over-the-top, action-comedy-horror THEY WILL KILL YOU! The film stars Zazie Beetz as a woman who answers a help wanted ad to be a housekeeper in a mysterious New York City high-rise not knowing its mysterious past! Here are details, trailers and our plan for this event:
TOW: This dark comedy/drama is based on a true story and follows a homeless Seattle woman who fights her way out of "tow-company hell" to reclaim the car that had held her life together after receiving a tow bill for $21,634. The film stars Rose Byrne, Ariana DeBose, Demi Lovato, Octavia Spencer, Dominic Sessa, Elsie Fisher and Simon Rex! The film premiered to solid reviews at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival where critics declared, “TOW is a winner!” It’s “a story of perseverance, heart, and real fight, the kind of small human story we see less frequently these days, but need now more than ever.” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdkpcsuPAhA
THEY WILL KILL YOU: A woman takes a job as a housekeeper in a NYC high-rise, unaware of the building's history of disappearances. She soon realizes the community is shrouded in mystery. The film is directed by Kirill Sokolov and Zadie Beetz, Myha'la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette. The film is being released immediately following its premiere at this year’s SXSW Festival earlier this month. Early reviews say it’s “an adrenaline rush of action-packed fights, tons of blood and gore and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments” and a movie that’s “unafraid to march to its own campy, violent, and clever little drummer!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYqQPiXpi4w
PLAN: Not exactly a “Choose Your Movie” event, more like an early show and a late one (or both if you’re feeling sparky)!
\* If you’d like to see TOW, please purchase your ticket for the 5:00pm showing and meet in the upstairs lobby between 4:40 and 4:50pm!
\* If you plan to see THEY WILL KILL YOU, please purchase your ticket for the 7:45pm showing and meet in the upstairs lobby between 7:25 and 7:35pm!
\* Tickets for both films on sale now and advance purchase is advised! Tickets just $5.00 ($6.50 after online fees when purchased via the GFC website). Once you have yours, please list your movie of choice and seat number in the Comments section of this event.
\* Also, as a reminder, close, convenient parking available in the nearby garage (Between 9th and 11th, just off High) and just $2 when you have your ticket validated at the theater!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
Happy writing!
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for April is "Water"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
