If you are new to running, just getting back into it, or checking out the club for the first time, this a great first workout to join. All paces and abilities welcome. A pre-determined workout will be announced at the beginning and participants can adjust the workout to meet their needs and level. Workouts are usually planned by time, rather than distance, which helps accommodate the wide variety of paces that we have and allows the group to stick together. Warm-up starts at 6:30pm. With the 50th anniversary of the system coming up at the end of March, TEDC founder Will Rice will make a presentation based on the book. On Tuesday, March 3, 5:30-7-30 pm, there will be a Washington Area Bicyclist Association Meetup taking place in Adams Morgan. There’ll be snacks and drinks for socializing before and after hearing from the guest speakers: WDC Councilmember Doni Crawford and Christina Whitehouse, Bike Lane Uprising founder from Chicago. Christina founded Bike Lane Uprising in Chicago in 2017 to make it easy for anyone to report bike lane obstructions. BLU has since gone national. Come volunteer with us refurbishing donated bicycles so that they can be used again by the community! This event is open to both new and existing volunteers. No mechanical experience is necessary. Note: The warehouse location is in the alley behind 1502 Mt Vernon Ave. Enter through the gray door next to a roll-down garage door. If you drive to the location, be sure to park in the street, not in the alleys or parking lots surrounding the warehouse. And wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty with bicycle grease! Please be aware that volunteers under 18 need a parent or guardian to accompany them to their first volunteer experience and sign a liability waiver, while volunteers under 16 need a parent or guardian to accompany them at all times while volunteering with Vélocity.

We meet on Sundays at 8 a.m. for training runs on some of DC's best trails, including Rock Creek Park and the surrounding area. We typically meet at either Peirce Mill in Rock Creek Park, or Roosevelt Island, depending on the route. All paces and levels of trail experience are welcome for these runs, which range in distance from 6 to 9 miles.

Bring a **joke**. **Trail Description**: "Prince George's County's Paint Branch Trail (not to be confused with Montgomery County's Paint Branch Trail farther north) runs for 3.5 miles between Lake Artemesia and Cherry Hill Neighborhood Park in the Washington, DC, suburb of College Park. Join the Sierra Club Potomac Region Outings (SCPRO) on **Sunday, March 8** for a scenic **7-mile loop** trail following the Northwest Branch of the Anacostia River. The hike will proceed north from **Burnt Mills West Special Park** (Burnt Mills Reservoir) on the Rachel Carson Greenway Trail looping back on the Northwest Branch Trail. Hiking conditions will be on **uneven muddy terrain** with elevation gains of 250 feet, offering nice views of the Northwest Branch of the Anacostia River. We will rendezvous at the parking lot of the **Burnt Mills West Special Park** at **8:45 am** (north side of Columbia Pike - route 29). The hike will go on [light] rain or shine. Meetup page will be updated with weather forecast the night before. Bring water, snacks, comfortable hiking shoes, and dress for the weather.
