• What we'll do This meet up is for those who are learning English as a second language and want a chance to practice. We will provide a fun and interesting activity to encourage simple English conversation. It may be a game, an interesting topic, or whatever. You went on that retreat, read the book, committed to meditate daily. And here you are at 3 am, drunkenly staring down a Žižkov doner, wondering what went wrong. You are not alone! Come share your spiritual misadventures. Its a space where you can bring a poem, story, koan etc. Or just come and hang out. All paths and experiences are welcome. We’ll start with an opening circle, short group meditation and then move into sharing and discussion. A 1.5h walk in Prague's largest graveyard, Olšany Cemeteries, to honour the memories of 9 remarkable and lesser-known women laid to rest there. Among them are pioneers of Czech women’s emancipation, like Karolína Světlá & Eliška Krásnohorská, fascinating figures like the “Czech Coco Chanel” or Anna Náprstková, a successful entrepreneur. I'll also tell you the poignant story of a mother, Libuše Palachová, who fought to preserve her son’s memory, Jan Palach, after his tragic self-immolation in protest of the 1968 Soviet invasion. The topic for June is "Roadtrip" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
