Dublin Marathon Training Group
Dublin Marathon Training Group
Have you an entry for Dublin Marathon 2026? - Or you may just be trying to build up your long runs with another marathon or have no specific race or target in mind. Are you fed up doing those long runs on your own and would love some company to make them a little easier? The aim of this group is to enjoy a good sociable run in the company of like-minded people and we finish each run with tea and cake in the visitor centre where we meet up with other Dublin Runners doing different distances. This gives us the opportunity to tell each other how great we are. This group is for those who are targeting a 4 to 4 1/2 hour marathon on Oct 25th. Our pace will be approximately 6:30 mins/km. If you are nervous that you might not last the full distance, don't worry as we normally pick a route that allows you to peel off a bit early. However, if currently, your pace is below 6 30/km for 10 miles (16 km) this group may not be for you. Likewise, if your pace is faster, then you might be better suited to run with one of the other Dublin Runners marathon training groups. You will have a good idea after a week or two. This week's run is the first of our 16 week programme. It will be 17 km. It will consist of 2 loops. the first loop will be run at 6 20 - 6 30 per km pace and will be about 7 km in length. We will then join with the main Dublin Runners group at 9:00 am back at the Visitors Centre (VC), where a variety of pace options will be available. This second loop will be 10 km Please arrive 5 mins early as we are firm about start times.

Bring your 친구 too. Sunday boardgame meetup
Sunday boardgame meetup
Our free-of-charge meet-up in the Black Sheep Pub on Capel Street. This is a casual meet up for people who want to play boardgames. Lots of people bring plenty of games and rules will always be explained so don't worry if you're new to the hobby and you don't have anything to bring along or think you won't know how to play. The meet-up runs for the whole day but late comers always welcome, you just may have to wait a little for a game to open up but games will be starting and ending throughout the day. **IMPORTANT!** **The meet up is free of charge but we do ask that people support the bar by buying food and/or drink. The bar is very accommodating to us and it's important that we support them in return. Bringing in outside food or drink is completely unacceptable.** Check out the comments below where people will say what games they are bringing and express your interest in joining if interested. Any questions contact either of the organisers Gavin or Stephen.
Let’s play… The Wildsea / The (Orc) Pope Is Dead
Let’s play… The Wildsea / The (Orc) Pope Is Dead
Join us every Sunday and tell a story as a group by playing a beginner-friendly roleplaying game. Every week we have 2-3 different games - you will choose which game you play on the day. All materials provided and rules are explained at the start of each game, you just need to bring your imagination. This week's facilitators: * **Colin** will run The Wildsea: Centuries ago, the old world was swallowed by a sea of mile-high trees. Now you and your crew sail across the treetops of the Wildsea in a shop driven by a chainsaw. Low magic, high weird, leaf-punk adventures await! Your crew has heard rumors of same rare materials revealed by a recent storm and you are off to explore! * **Silvia** will run The (Orc) Pope Is Dead, yet another silly adventure by Grant Howitt. Terrible news: you and the lads went out drinking with the Pope last night and now he’s dead. The orcish church of Bog-Al-Kurruk is without a leader. Can you and your mates - esteemed clerics all - work out which one of you it’s going to be, and then outdo or discredit your rivals to claim the most prestigious title in the orc nation? *** Details for the event (number of groups and games) will be published here or earlier on our [Discord server](https://tinyurl.com/indie-rpgs-dublin). Feel free to ask the organisers any questions you have (here or on Discord).
