Blades in the Dark
**Player count: 3 of 5. Two spaces left!**
The city has gone to the dogs. The Steward fills the purses of the rich through the backs of the poor. It's time to redistribute the wealth.
Welcome to the Robin Hood: Blades in the Dark game, you didn't know you needed. This is the story of your crew as they rail against the injustices of the land and do their best to do good in a world that wants them at each others throats.
This game is beginner friendly, and spans 6 fortnights.
**Everything you need to learn about the game, will be in session 0.**
However throughout the game I will prompt you and aid you in the rules of the game.
What to expect: Gritty, fast pace heists where you have to think on your feet. Things are grim, but you are bringing hope back to these streets.
In session 0 we will be discussing the setting, the specialty of the game, making characters, including playing the formation of this crew. No equipment is needed as everything will be provided for you.
However if you would like to bring your own dice, you will want D6's.
When: Tuesdays, fortnightly, 7pm
Where: Elder Gods and Dragons (in Carlton VIC)
Price: $25 for session 0. $35 from session 1 onwards
A summary of the game:
Crime has gone up as good people can no longer afford to eat. It is no longer safe. You are sent home from the war and your house has been "requisitioned", you no longer have a place in polite society. But you find a few who are like you. Dislocated, bitter at those who do nothing but enjoy the protections of the current steward and his sheriffs. You gather and through hoods and shadows, you take from the rich and give to the poor.

The venue is within walking distance of Melbourne Central and Town hall station. We will be running from 6:00pm-10:00pm every Wednesday but you can stay or leave whenever you want.

**Frequently Asked Questions... 🕵️♂️**
**Won't everyone else already know each other?**
The only people who know each other are the Dungeon Masters leading each table. We don't allow groups to attend these nights, so at most there is a duo coming who already know each other. Everyone and you are super new to this.
**Will I be the only girl at the event?**
No, our events are generally 3:1 ratio, most tables I have seen are 2 girls and 4 guys. no promises on any individual night, but you'll find it doesn't impact your enjoyment.
**I'm worried I might slow everyone else down?**
Not true, pre-filled character sheets take much of the guess work out of learning the game, and the GMs have all taught tens to hundreds of people this game.
*The only thing you'll want to remember is the "D20", a twenty sided dice is always used to resolve actions, whether it's picking a pocket, striking a wicked goblin or recalling history on a forgotten ruin.*
*Ok, your basically ready now. seriously.*
Don't believe me? Come and find out for yourself.
**I'm worried I might be too old/too young for this?**
so here's what you'll want to know. we usually see attendees anywhere from 19-49 years of age.
normally it's 25-35ish as we often curate out events for young professionals and established professionals working locally.
But I'll say this: if you get along with a mature audience of respectful people who can collaborate together - you're in for a good time.
**Session**

Board games at The Forge (theme night: unplayed games)
This week is national unplayed games week, so we encourage you to break out those shrink-wrapped games you bought on a whim but haven't had a chance to try yet. Do your best to learn the game ahead of time to facilitate the process! let's get those dusty ones to the table!
The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~20 per person. Soft drink refills are 1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group!
The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play.
Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes.
We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area.
Parking can sometimes fill esrly. There is additional parking lot behind the neighboring Mexican restaurant that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.
Learn to Play Pickleball: beginner & Intermediate drills
Want to learn pickleball in a fun, low-pressure setting? I’m hosting a free beginner-friendly meetup at Olentangy Parklands to help new players learn the basics and get comfortable on the court.
I’m a pretty skilled player and will walk everyone through the essentials, including rules, scoring, serving, basic strategy, and how to start playing real games. No experience needed.
We’ll meet on the upper courts.
Bring a pickleball paddle if you have one. If not, no problem, I’ll have some extras available for people to use.
This event is meant for beginners and anyone curious about trying pickleball for the first time. Come ready to move, learn, and have fun.
