Tell us all about your spontaneous decisions that led to memorable outcomes. If you couldn't make it to our previous pitch workshops, here is another opportunity for you! The *On a whim* live storytelling show is on Wednesday, 24th June. If you’ve got a story or just an idea in mind, come to one of our pitch workshops at the end of May. If your story is shortlisted for the show, our host will work with you as you polish and rehearse it. 📌 Story Requirements: * Your story must be true * It must be told in the first person—you are the main character * It should be between 5-10 minutes You don't need to have a completed or polished story ready - just a beginning idea is okay. This workshop is open to individuals at all levels, first-timers or old hands. The purpose of Hong Kong Stories is to help you become a better storyteller. Everyone has a story to tell, and everyone loves a story. Note: Please update your RSVP, ideally 12 hours before the event if you're unable to make it. You will work with a **synthetic Hong Kong-inspired transport dataset**. The data is messy on purpose: missing values, weird outliers, inconsistent categories, URL-encoded station names, confusing delimiters, and fields that look useless until you extract the hidden signal. Your mission is simple: **Clean the data. Extract better features. Run the scorer. Beat the model.** You do not need to tune the model. You need to **rescue the data**. ***How the Challenge Works*** Teams will write a Python data transformation script to clean and enrich the dataset. Our scoring pipeline will then: 1. Run your transformation on the training and test data 2. Remove any label / target leakage columns 3. Train a fixed Gradient Boosting model 4.
