String Players

Public speaking workshops can be so boring! so many of them teach a business/political style of speaking which feels inauthentic and insincere. The meetings themselves are often a repetitive format with the same style of speaking week in week out. Do you want something a bit more playful? A bit more fun? A bit more varied? Then you have come to the right place! My philosophy is that, at some point in our lives, we’ve learnt that it isn’t safe to be ourselves in front of others. We don’t learn to be ourselves by learning how to stand, how to move our arms or how to walk on stage, the truth is you can’t learn to be yourself, because you already are yourself. The real question is: why don’t we feel safe enough to express it? The aim of this weekly drop-in class is to liberate you from your own social inhibitions. To get to a point where it makes no difference whether you are speaking to a close friend one on one or speaking to an audience of 20 strangers, imagine how powerful it would feel to get to that position, a position where the audience has no influence over your behaviour and no influence over your nervous system. The class itself will include, warm up games, questions, playful improv style speaking exercises, debates and much more ! . **About Session** **Advanced** **4 courts for 4 hours** **High grade tournament shuttles (speed 77-78)** **£14 (bank transfer)** Please sign up to **ONLY ONE** of the concurrent Sunday sessions (this is the 4-hour Sunday session). Non-members should message the organizers their full-name via WhatsApp (Adrian Rabe, +447410463483) to arrange tryouts. Guests allowed but members will be prioritized over guests. Please message Committee members if you would like to add on a guest. Break the strings on 2 racquets, or break a racquet during the session and your session is *free*. Take a photo of the broken strings or racquet **DURING** the session, upload, and tag Broken Strings on Instagram to get the fee waiver. Cancellations < 24 hours before the event will be penalized the full fee. Please message organizer via WhatsApp for late cancellations or for potential slots. We will be discreetly speaking to players who may be struggling with the level of the session. **Free parking available within the school**. If you've designed a game, bring it along and give it a play or just enjoy playing other people's prototypes in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. Come join our welcoming, low-pressure environment where you can practice performing, build confidence, stay motivated, and connect with others who play piano. Each session is intentionally structured and hosted to ensure everyone has time to play (if they choose), feel supported, socialize, and enjoy the experience.
