We will start at Meadowbrook Local Park in Chevy Chase, MD and proceed to the Boundary Bridge and into DC on the Valley Trail, cross Beach Dr to the Pinehurst Branch Trail, and loop back to our starting point on the Western Ridge Trail. The Astronomical Society of Greenbelt will hold a star party at the Greenbelt Observatory near Northway Fields on Saturday, May 9 from 9:00 to 11:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public. Visitors can come in to the observatory dome to watch the telescope operators or bring their own telescopes. The event will be cancelled if it’s clouded over or raining. All are welcome.
