Offline Reading Party x Slow Art Experience
\*\*Les billets sont gĂ©rĂ©s via LuMa. Merci de [prendre ta place ici.](https://luma.com/avyfq29z)\*\*â
**đ Join The Offline Club at Le Kawaa du Lucernaire for a very special edition of our cosy Offline Reading Party.**
âLock your phone away and immerse yourself in a morning designed to recharge you â with a twist.
âThis time, we're celebrating **Slow Art Day** by turning our books into works of art.
âBecause here's the thing: your book *is* art. The cover, the typography, the texture of the pages, the way a sentence is constructed. We just rarely slow down enough to notice.
âThis reading party is your chance to disconnect from screens, unwind from the daily buzz, and meet like-minded people â while rediscovering your book through a completely different lens.
âA little escape into a different world â where time slows down, people are open to connect, and you can truly focus on yourself.
âThe perfect start to your weekend. âš
***
â**What to expect:**
âđ Peaceful (me-)time to read that book you've been meaning to start (or finish!)
âđš A Slow Art session that might just change the way you read... forever
âđ€ The chance to meet and connect with like-minded (wannabe) booklovers
âđŹ A space where connection comes easily â no rush, no pressure, no notifications
âđ« Community vibes, a welcoming atmosphere, and plenty of time to relax
âđ” Valuable time offline that leaves you feeling rested and fulfilled
âđ«đ· đŹđ§ French & English friendly â all our events are bilingual, so you can comfortably speak either language
***
â**The Program:**
â**10:00 â 10:30 \| Arrive & Make Yourself at Home**
â**10:30 â 11:00 \| Slow Art Session**
âWe'll begin by looking at our books the way you'd look at a painting in a museum: slowly, curiously, without rushing to "get through it."
âLed by an Art Therapist specialised in Museum Art Therapy and Book Therapy (yes, that's me, Stefania, your city leader đââïž), this session will invite you to truly *see* your book before you read it.
âWe'll also explore the idea of Slow Reading, because... did you know that's a thing too?
â**11:00 â 12:00 \| Dive Into Your Book** Your time to sit back and enjoy undistracted reading time â perhaps with fresh eyes after the session.
â**12:00 â 13:00 \| Connect With Others**
âChat and connect with others, but only if you feel like it.
âMeet new people, share stories about your favourite reads, and enjoy meaningful conversations.
âWe create laid-back spaces where talking to strangers is the norm and connection is made easy.
***
â**What to Bring**
âYour current read, a book with a cover that makes your heart sing, or both.
âComics, poetry, graphic novels â all literature is welcome here. Come as you are, bring what moves you.
***
ââ**About your phone:** *Your phone will rest in our âphone hotel,â and weâll be its bodyguards. But just so you know, if it magically disappears, learns to fly, or mysteriously breaks, The Offline Club canât be held responsible.*
ââ*Not quite ready to let it go? No worries â just switch it off and keep it tucked away, out of sight.*
***
âWe love and appreciate the venues that host our events! Please remember that your consumption gives the venues one more reason to love us back!
***
â**We canât wait to swap screen time for real time with you.**
ââOffline hugs,
ââStefania, The Offline Club Paris
Deep Talk / In English
đ©đ° Let's have a weekly deep talk in an intimate Parisian cafĂ©, share a drink and have a good time with like-minded, lovely and chill people. đ„â
We're here to sip life in a childish, simple and non-serious way. đ
When was the last time you had a meaningful conversation? Or deepened your relationship with someone in your life? It's not easy to have a deep conversation.
While small talk, which is typically casual and light-hearted, can help break the ice, it may not necessarily help you form a deep, emotional connection with someone. Whether it's with your friends, family, colleagues or romantic partners, having meaningful conversations is important for creating strong bonds.
"Meaningful conversations help us understand ourselves and those around us better. They involve sharing important aspects of ourselves and actively listening, validating and connecting with others."
We believe that a happy and healthy life is built on beautiful relationships and that loneliness kills us. That's it. It's not the number of friends that counts, it's the quality of the relationship.
â
This group is adressed to :
â People who want to build deep, genuine and caring relationships in a small group that looks the same, where they feel comfortable and emotionally safe to talk emotionally and get intimate about anything in their lives.
â Simple, loving, kind, hyper/sensitive and lovely people who spend a lot of time in their bubble thinking about the meaning of life, passionate about personal development, philosophy, meaningful conversations, debates ....
â Please don't subscribe if :
â You don't see yourself in the group's aims and beliefs.
â You're travelling for a short period of time and don't live or intend to live in Paris.
â You are not sure if you will be able to come, please update your status to allow others on the waiting list to join. An absence without notice will result in an irrevocable ban.
Progress :
â â For reservations, I'll send you a private Meetup message at least 5 hours before the meeting to confirm your reservation. If I don't receive a reply 2 hours before the meeting, I will send you a second message to let you know that you will be replaced by someone on the waitlist.
â đ We keep the session small, cosy and relaxed in a quiet place, prioritising regularity to encourage intimacy, connection, listening and speaking. (\~ 5/6 people)
â đ On arrival, if you feel comfortable, you will be suggested to choose and associate several drawn Feelings and Needs cards to express how you really feel at the moment, to talk about ourselves and communicate effectively.
â đ The best way to make progress is to make the conversation easy and natural, with everyone making an effort to suggest and write down what you want to talk about. You can write down your favourite topics/questions before the meeting. The meeting is participative and invite everyone if you feel comfortable being a leader and a power of suggestion.
Anyway, to keep the meeting running smoothly, I'll animate the meeting to make sure the conversation doesn't get wild or boring and I wouldn't hesitate to reframe people. In case of lack of inspiration we have a lot of deep conversation question card game which can help to find interesting questions.
â đ (Not compulsory) After the meeting we can finish in a nearby restaurant for those who wish to relax or continue our conversation.
Advice for a good moment :
â Leave your ego and mask at home, we are not here to impress anyone but to be ourselves with our strength, weakness, pride and shame.
Come with an open/deep/emotional/complex thought and vulnerability.
â Ask open-ended questions and invite the other person to describe what a situation was like for them or how they felt.
â Don't hesitate to be vulnerable and share information about yourself if needed.
Consider sharing personal information first to gain the other person's trust.
â Adopt an attitude of curiosity and genuine interest in what the other person is saying. Be thoughtful and try to put yourself in the other person's shoes so that you can see things from their perspective. Be truthful, caring and honest.
â Listen actively and ask follow-up questions.
â Be empathetic and offer emotional validation so that they feel seen and heard.
It is forbidden to judge, but try to understand.
â â± Be aware of your speaking time for Equally Speak.
â đ€« Be aware never to provoke political or religious ideologies, but to accept differences of belief. Advice on non-violent communication can be given in the meeting to learn not to unintentionally hurt anyone when requested or needed.
â đš Remember to maintain a safe, and benevolent environment. People who are considered to be disruptive, problematic or simply not in tune with the energy of the group will not be allowed to return.
Finally, we're hug-friendly !!! đ€
