10K Wednesday Evening
Let's run! Our run starts at 19:00, and takes about 1 hour depending on the route and group. Please try to arrive at the start on time!
Our pace is typically 5:10 to 5:40 min/km, but there are plenty of crossings to catch up to the group.
We will go every week, also in winter! Even if nobody appears to go, there are usually a few runners there without signing up.
Here are the route options we did a couple of times now, we usually discuss which one to do before we start:
9K: https://onthegomap.com/s/gtb3eim5 (*more Spree*)
10K: https://onthegomap.com/s/lqlph997 (*more Tiergarten*)
10K: https://onthegomap.com/s/rjhqh51f (*more Park am Nordbahnhof*)
10K: https://onthegomap.com/s/g6a27mgr (*more Humboldthain / Panke*)
11K: https://onthegomap.com/s/ii3l1h0d (*more Panke, Mauerpark*)
The routes MAY be slightly different due to construction works!
Depending on the opinion of people joining and the weather, we'll decide on the spot and do between 9K and 11K and may experiment with (other) routes/extensions :-)
We typically do some stair running at the Bundestagsbibliothek, if the route passes by there, about 2K before the finish, which is really nice to get rid of any excess energy you might have. The stair running is optional, you can take a short rest as well.
Usually there are a few fast people pulling ahead, but don't worry, you won't be left behind, and we all meet at the stairs again :)
Occasionally we may go for a drink after the run at the Castle across the street from the start/finish and claim a table in the garden if the weather is nice (late spring, summer, early autumn). If you are interested in that, bring some money. They do take cards as well.
We do NOT have a place to store your bag(s)/clothes, but some people reported success by asking in the Castle...
Let's gooooo! đđđ

Reclue - das klug machende Unterscheidungs-Spiel
(English below)
\*\*\* english version \*\*\*
"Can a whale be a parakeet?"
\~> Of course not!
"Can a window be a drink?"
\~> Everyone knows that's impossible.
"Can a democracy be a republic?"
"Can a conjecture be an opinion?"
"Is grasping something the same as understanding something?"
\~> Well, now it gets tricky!
And it gets exciting...
Nothing stimulates thought quite like this new party game.
The rules:
1. Everyone writes a term on a slip of paper.
2. The slips of paper are drawn in pairs.
3. We project the meaning of the two words onto the wall using a projector.
4. Everyone can add to/edit the meaning using a laptop or smartphone, and must provide examples of why something could be the same, or could never be the same.
5. After a while, no one can think of anything else. The differences and similarities between the two words are clearly highlighted.
Then the score is tallied:
(+1) Each new entry adding meaning earns one point.
(-2) However, each deleted entry deducts two points.
(+5) Each improvement on the existing meaning in Reclue earns five points.
The understanding of all players becomes much clearer, especially with frequent play.
And the winners with the highest score receive the prize of the day.
The game also works in multiple languages.
The location will be published soon.

Christmas Eve hike - 17 km from Westend to Nikolassee (5.5 km/h)
Christmas Eve will be a cold but partly sunny day. We will meet on the west side of the Pichelsberg S-Bahn station, on the platform, and start the hike from the end point (https://www.komoot.com/tour/2692511554). Please prepare for a rather speedy hike. (Bring comfortable shoes, for example.) We will have a break at Grunewaldturm, but the cafĂ©/restaurant there will be closed. However, there is an outdoor seating area with benches and tables where we can hopefully sit and enjoy the food we have brought with us. Towards the end of the hike, we will leave the track to visit the Indian restaurant Rasam (WasgenstraĂe), where I have made a reservation (to ensure that the restaurant is open on Christmas Eve).
If you need to contact other participants during the hike (for example, to find out where to meet us if you are running late), use this WhatsApp group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/EwJh4rtVLywHI025XOVsaj . For all other purposes, especially socialising and posting photos, please use the Telegram subgroup 'Event Chat & Photos': https://t.me/addlist/KAOk2PA4BDE0ZTY8 .
The hike will take place if at least 6 people sign up. As long as there are more than 6 people, you can sign up and cancel as many times as you like. If there are 6 or less people, please avoid cancelling, as this might make the other participants feel insecure about whether the hike will take place (or whether there is something wrong with the hike and they should cancel as well --> [Matthew effect - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_effect)). If there are less than 6 participants, the hike will also take place unless the majority of the participants are in favor of canceling the hike.

Shamanic Circle đ„ The Wild Hunt
**Trance Journeys along Forgotten Pagan Paths**
In the **RauhnĂ€chte**, the nights between years, Central European folklore speaks of the **Wild Hunt**: a powerful procession of spirits, ancestors, animal forces, and elemental beings moving through the winter darkness. Led by figures such as Wodan/Odin or Frau Perchta, **the Wild Hunt embodies the untamed forces of nature â chaotic, cleansing, and deeply transformative**.
In pre-Christian traditions, **encountering the Wild Hunt meant coming face to face with what cannot be controlled**: death and rebirth, fate, instinct, and the raw truth of the natural world. It tore down false order and carried away what no longer belonged, making space for renewal.
In modern life, many of us live far from these rhythms. **We are overstimulated yet disconnected, constantly managing, planning, optimizing â often exhausted by the need to hold everything together.** During the darker months, unprocessed grief, fear, and fatigue tend to surface, while our culture offers little space to truly release or transform them.
This shamanic drum circle invites us to **ride the Wild Hunt instead of resisting it**. Through the steady pulse of the drum, we step out of linear time and into a deeper, older rhythm. **We allow what is no longer alive in us â habits, identities, expectations â to be carried off by the wild forces of midwinter.**
Riding the Wild Hunt is an act of surrender and reclamation. **We reconnect with instinct, with ancestral memory, and with the part of ourselves that knows how to move through uncertainty without control.** In doing so, we find strength, clarity, and a grounded sense of belonging â not by taming the wild, but by remembering that we are part of it.
This circle offers a space to release, to listen, and to realign with the deeper currents that still move beneath modern life, especially in this sacred time between endings and beginnings.
