Modern Data Modelling in Power BI (free full day in-person course)
FULL - *RSVP here on meetup does not provide your place β you must* have registered at the [official registration page here](https://zomalex.co.uk/lbag/event-2026-04-27.html).
This is a full day free training on data modelling in Power BI. Data Modelling is the core skill needed to build good, correct Power BI reports. We will firstly build a basic semantic model (fact, dimension, and dates tables, based on the star schema pattern). We will then use AI agents via the Power BI Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to directly improve and document our model.
Please bring a full charged laptop with Power BI Desktop installed.
**Agenda**
*10am - Welcome and introduction*
*10:15am - Set up Power BI and AI tools*
We set up and configure the software and environment that we need to firstly build a semantic model in Power BI, then the extra steps if we want an AI to directly improve it.
* Install Power BI Desktop (preferred) *or* sign into Power BI online
* Install VSCode and the Power BI MCP server (so we can use agentic AI to improve a model)
* Install Claude Desktop and configure it to control the MCP server
*11:30am - Build a basic model*
We build a star schema data model (dimension, fact, date tables) from scratch either in Power BI Desktop or Power BI online. We will use sample data with almost perfect data quality so we can focus on modelling and not data cleaning.
*1pm - Lunch*
*1:30pm Discussion: Review our model. How can we improve it?*
*2pm - Use an Agentic AI and the Power BI MCP to directly* improve our model
We use an AI (either Claude or GitHub Copilot) and the Power BI Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server to directly improve a Power BI semantic model (tables, columns, measures, formats, relationships, hierarchies) with natural language instructions.
*3:45pm - Wrap up and next steps*
*4pm - Finish*

Agents in Production: The Memory Problem
Agent memory is a mess.
Most teams are stitching together a vector store, a graph database, and some middleware - three systems to manage, three potential failure points, and no guarantees that any of it stays consistent. It works until it doesn't.
In this meetup, we're looking at what it actually takes to solve this properly. Not a quick fix, not another abstraction layer - memory that's transactional, structured, and built into the database itself.
We'll look show what that looks like in practice with Spectron, SurrealDB's brand new agent memory system. We'll also walk through a full-stack knowledge graph RAG system - end-to-end, real code, real trade-offs - plus a guest talk from LangChain.
Hard questions welcome. Drinks & pizza on us.

Agenda **(Local time, PM)**:
06:00 - 06:30 Opening & Networking

07:30 - 08:30 Networking & Closing
**Talk by Gessica Puglielli: Empowering Design Teams**
Traditional sign-off processes can slow down creativity and decision-making in design teams. In this keynote, Iβll share my experience leading MPBβs design team through a transformation, where we moved from top-down approvals to a culture of accountability and trust. This shift not only boosted team morale but also enhanced creativity and sped up the design process. Attendees will walk away with actionable strategies for empowering their teams, fostering trust, and overcoming the challenges that come with reducing micromanagement. Itβs time to empower your team to thrive without sign-offs.
**Interactive Forum: From Sign Offs to Shared Accountability:**
This interactive forum turns the keynote into a working session. Together, we will unpack what it really takes to replace sign offs with clear ownership, fast decisions, and high quality outcomes. We will explore the practical building blocks: defining decision rights, setting quality bars, running lightweight critique, and handling risk without reverting to approvals. Bring your real scenarios, blockers, and edge cases. You will leave with a set of patterns you can apply straight away, plus a few phrases and templates for aligning stakeholders and keeping momentum when trust is still being earned.

Central Ohio Real Estate Investing Expo
(Note: RSVPing here on meetup does NOT reserve your seat. To do that, youβll need to register at our website, [HERE](https://www.coreerocks.com/Events.aspx?ID=2026-Central-Ohio-Real-Estate-Investing-Expo-14-5-5-2026).)
Weβre serious about helping you succeed in real estate.
That means not just teaching youβbut putting you in the room with the people who help you get deals done.
Every deal depends on people.
The agent or wholesaler.
The lender.
The contractor.
The title company.
The insurance agent.
The problem is that most investors meet those people slowly.
This event fixes that.
One room full of:
β’ Lenders
β’ Contractors
β’ Title companies
β’ Insurance providers
β’ Property managers
β’ And active local investors
A place where you can:
β’ Build your team
β’ Find funding
β’ Solve real problems
β’ Make connections that lead to deals
If youβre serious about real estate, this is a smart room to be in.
Members and non-members at any level of knowledge and experience are welcome.
This event is free.
