Full Moon Picnic Sat May 30, 8:30-10:30 PM, Pont des Arts
Full Moon Picnic Sat May 30, 8:30-10:30 PM, Pont des Arts
**Ahoy there,** Next full moon picnic will be Saturday May 30 from 8:30 - 10:30 P.M. Moonrise will be around 10:10 P.M. Sunset around 9:40 PM. I may not make it back from my tree house in time but never fear, Catherine and Charles will be there to welcome you. The Pont des Arts is undergoing renovations for the botched renovation 3 years ago that used a poor design to fasten the wood planks. Most of the bridge will remain open full width during the work. We will meet by one of the benches in the open section, which is currently towards the Left Bank side of the bridge. Hard to predict how work will advance over the next week. So finding us may involve a little bit of treasure hunt adventure. You’re welcome! In the unlikely event we will assemble below on the quai on the Right Bank side. May is known by American Indians for the Full Flower Moon because of the wide appearance of flowers during this month. It's also known as Full Corn Planting Moon (for obvious reasons) and as the Milk Moon. Bob, I swear you're just copy pasting that from your last email for our previous Full Moon Picnic. Yes, that’s because this is the second full moon of the same month, which only happens once in a blue moon. 🤣 **WHAT**: Everyone brings food and drink to share. **WHERE**: Pont des Arts. We'll gather around the 2nd or 3rd bench from the Right Bank side of the bridge. Nearest metros: Pont Neuf and Louvre-Rivoli. **WHEN**: Saturday May 30 from 8:30-10:30 P.M. **WHY**: Share one of the most memorable sights in Paris with some of the nicest people around. **WHO**: You and your friends. **THEME**: Blue **BIRTHDAYS**: Are you’re a Gemini? Bring a cake and let me know so we can celebrate your birthday this month and blow out the world’s largest birthday candle. **HOW** to find us: Keep your eyes out for a bunch of lunatics eating, drinking an chatting in English and French. **PUZZLER**: Raise your hand if you’re vegetarian. Vegan? Beegan?(vegan + honey. I know.) Flexitarian?(occasional meat). Vegan before 6 PM?(yes that’s actually a thing.) Forget about Omnivore. Forget about Carnivore. How about Cannibal? How about Sausage eating Cannibal? Why are you cringing? You're the product of a Sausage eating Cannibal. Don’t try to puzzle this out. Just go ahead and scroll to the answer before your stomach turns queasy. **PUZZLER ANSWER**: Our galaxy, the Milky Way has become quite large feasting on other smaller galaxies. About 8 billion years ago, a study said, that a smaller dwarf galaxy was gobbled up by a young and hungry Milky Way. The study was not 8 billion years ago (that’s why the 2 commas) but 8 years ago. The dwarf galaxy was named Gaia Sausage because it was sorta kinda in the shape of a sausage according to the astronomers analyzing the data. They had been up for 2 days without eating and were definitely not vegan. [https://www.cmu.edu/news/stories/archives/2018/july/gaia-sausage.html](https://www.cmu.edu/news/stories/archives/2018/july/gaia-sausage.html) Turns out that just this month, the Milky Way gobbled up another galaxy, according to a study, 10 billion years ago. (I’m using commas the way Trump uses legal loopholes.) The poor meal this time is called the Loki galaxy, named after the Norse god of mischief. The remnants of this dwarf galaxy are hard to detect and tricky to explain because the left over stars are moving in opposite directions. Confusing and mischievous. [https://edition.cnn.com/2026/05/23/science/milky-way-loki-galaxy](https://edition.cnn.com/2026/05/23/science/milky-way-loki-galaxy) In this eat or be eaten universe galaxies are cannibalizing each other. So far the Milky Way has eaten its way to an expanding belt-line. Ciao for niao, **Captain Bob**

Deep Talk / Snacks PicNic In English ☀️
Deep Talk / Snacks PicNic In English ☀️
🍩🍰 Let's have a weekly deep talk in an intimate Parisian café, share a drink and have a good time with like-minded, lovely and chill people. 🥂☕ We're here to sip life in a childish, simple and non-serious way. 🙃 When was the last time you had a meaningful conversation? Or deepened your relationship with someone in your life? It's not easy to have a deep conversation. While small talk, which is typically casual and light-hearted, can help break the ice, it may not necessarily help you form a deep, emotional connection with someone. Whether it's with your friends, family, colleagues or romantic partners, having meaningful conversations is important for creating strong bonds. "Meaningful conversations help us understand ourselves and those around us better. They involve sharing important aspects of ourselves and actively listening, validating and connecting with others." We believe that a happy and healthy life is built on beautiful relationships and that loneliness kills us. That's it. It's not the number of friends that counts, it's the quality of the relationship. ✅ This group is adressed to : ● People who want to build deep, genuine and caring relationships in a small group that looks the same, where they feel comfortable and emotionally safe to talk emotionally and get intimate about anything in their lives. ● Simple, loving, kind, hyper/sensitive and lovely people who spend a lot of time in their bubble thinking about the meaning of life, passionate about personal development, philosophy, meaningful conversations, debates .... ⛔ Please don't subscribe if : ● You don't see yourself in the group's aims and beliefs. ● You're travelling for a short period of time and don't live or intend to live in Paris. ● You are not sure if you will be able to come, please update your status to allow others on the waiting list to join. An absence without notice will result in an irrevocable ban. Progress : ● ❗ For reservations, I'll send you a private Meetup message at least 5 hours before the meeting to confirm your reservation. If I don't receive a reply 2 hours before the meeting, I will send you a second message to let you know that you will be replaced by someone on the waitlist. ● 💚 We keep the session small, cosy and relaxed in a quiet place, prioritising regularity to encourage intimacy, connection, listening and speaking. (\~ 5/6 people) ● 🔖 On arrival, if you feel comfortable, you will be suggested to choose and associate several drawn Feelings and Needs cards to express how you really feel at the moment, to talk about ourselves and communicate effectively. ● 📝 The best way to make progress is to make the conversation easy and natural, with everyone making an effort to suggest and write down what you want to talk about. You can write down your favourite topics/questions before the meeting. The meeting is participative and invite everyone if you feel comfortable being a leader and a power of suggestion. Anyway, to keep the meeting running smoothly, I'll animate the meeting to make sure the conversation doesn't get wild or boring and I wouldn't hesitate to reframe people. In case of lack of inspiration we have a lot of deep conversation question card game which can help to find interesting questions. ● 🍕 (Not compulsory) After the meeting we can finish in a nearby restaurant for those who wish to relax or continue our conversation. Advice for a good moment : ● Leave your ego and mask at home, we are not here to impress anyone but to be ourselves with our strength, weakness, pride and shame. Come with an open/deep/emotional/complex thought and vulnerability. ● Ask open-ended questions and invite the other person to describe what a situation was like for them or how they felt. ● Don't hesitate to be vulnerable and share information about yourself if needed. Consider sharing personal information first to gain the other person's trust. ● Adopt an attitude of curiosity and genuine interest in what the other person is saying. Be thoughtful and try to put yourself in the other person's shoes so that you can see things from their perspective. Be truthful, caring and honest. ● Listen actively and ask follow-up questions. ● Be empathetic and offer emotional validation so that they feel seen and heard. It is forbidden to judge, but try to understand. ● ⏱ Be aware of your speaking time for Equally Speak. ● 🤫 Be aware never to provoke political or religious ideologies, but to accept differences of belief. Advice on non-violent communication can be given in the meeting to learn not to unintentionally hurt anyone when requested or needed. ● 🚨 Remember to maintain a safe, and benevolent environment. People who are considered to be disruptive, problematic or simply not in tune with the energy of the group will not be allowed to return. Finally, we're hug-friendly !!! 🤗

🇬🇧 Hello everyone! This is our second pre-cooking workshop meetup! Because I went back to Korea for a short time, this meetup was delayed a little more than expected. I hope you’ve all been doing well! Now that some time has passed, I feel like the weather is finally perfect for a picnic. So before starting the cooking workshops, I thought it would be a lovely idea to spend some time together getting to know each other through a picnic. It would also be a great opportunity to discover different foods and snacks from various countries. And after the picnic, if people would like to, we could also share restaurant recommendations and maybe even go have a meal together somewhere recommended by the group! At the last meetup, everyone brought a snack from their own country to share. This time, I’d love for each person to bring one dish from home — something they personally love, feel confident making, or something simple and quick that they can prepare easily — so that we can all taste each other’s food. And if cooking is difficult for you this time, that’s totally okay: you can also bring a small snack from a shop in France that represents your country. This time, I’d also love for more people to join so that we can talk together about the future cooking workshop that will be held later on. I’ll send a WhatsApp group link to the participants with all the details. Let’s keep talking together and build even better and more enjoyable gatherings little by little! See you all soon — I’m really looking forward to meeting you!

Loose Tea Tasting
Loose Tea Tasting
Please join Columbus Tea Lovers for a tasting of loose leaf teas at a private residence in Worthington. (The address will be sent out via private Meetup message a day ahead to those who have RSVP'd.) June 20th is the Worthington Arts Festival so feel free to attend that event which is down the street in addition to the tea party. For this tasting please bring a tea or tisane (an herbal brew that contains no tea leaves) does not come in a prepackaged tea bag. You can feel free to bring it pre-brewed in a carafe or thermos; please leave out the milk and sweetener as we will have some on hand to mix and match. We will have the kettle on and fillable single serve disposable tea bags if you would like to bring the tea leaves unbrewed and extra tea cups on hand as well. We welcome you to bring snacks or desserts that are you enjoy pairing with tea. You can bring a chair if the day is nice in case we sit outside. There is a cat in the house, so be aware in case of allergies. If you want to write in the chat what you plan to bring so we don't have a lot of the same thing, please do so!

Pistacio Vera Mid-Morning June Birthdays Tea
Pistacio Vera Mid-Morning June Birthdays Tea
Happy Birthday to all June birthday people! I put this on the schedule because it's my birthday month, and this is my favorite place; it's also Dave Koczur's (MAFIA meetup leader) birthday on June 8; if you who are reading this have a June birthday as well, tell us in the Comments! For anyone off work or with a flexible schedule, come to Pistachio Vera in German Village for a tea and pastry. We will try to get a table outside. If convenient, you could put a fold up chair in your car in case we can all sit outside but we run out of chairs. https://www.pistaciavera.com/
Wine Tasting - Newcomers Night
Wine Tasting - Newcomers Night
This is "***New Members Night***." If you are one of the many folks on the fence about coming to your first wine tasting with the *Hilliard Wine Club*, this is the night to come. There will be many other new people, so you won't be alone. And the regulars will be there to help make you feel welcome. We're a relaxed and warm group. We hope to see you. **SIDE NOTE:** New members are welcome to ALL our Friday night wine tastings, but this night is a special overture to those who don't want to feel that they are the only new person in the room. Don't worry. You won't be. And don't hesitate to RSVP to other events. **OLD MEMBERS NOTE**: Hey Old Members! You're not excluded from this event. We expect to see you there to help make the new members feel welcome. **Sample 4 different wines** this Friday for $15 (*Cash or Venmo only please*). Glasses are provided. Bring a snack to share. Bring a bottle to share if you care to. See all the details below for the Hilliard Wine Club Wine Tasting. In Person. In Real Life. Actual Wine from glass bottles with corks and everything. **Wine**: Tastings will be $15 for four samples as always. And you are welcome to bring a bottle of your favorite wine to share with others. Participation in the wine tastings is optional. But since you’re going, I will buy enough wine to cover you. If you bring your own wine and do not participate in the tasting you will only pay $10 to cover the door charge. **Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. **Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass! **Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing. **Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions. **Extra Wine**: After everyone has had their samples, we remove the pouring spouts and any remaining wine is poured freely to whomever wants it. I hate having leftover wine. **Queen of Hearts**: The Queen of Hearts raffle is a fundraiser for the club and a Barnum and Bailey type extravaganza - minus the dancing ponies, clowns, and actual circus. Bring your ***cash*** as the Queen does not accept American Express or other plastic. **After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee. Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends. Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***, **Red 1 Realty** *Your Hilliard Wine Club Host*

Columbus Arduino Raspberry Pi Enthusiasts (CARPE) (Check Location)
Bring your Raspberry Pi, Arduino, microcontroller, or any other electronic project and join fellow electronics makers for a night of creativity and collaboration! This session is open forum to share your current projects—whether complete or in progress, it’s all interesting! Whether you’re deep into embedded systems, exploring new ideas, or just getting started, you’ll find a welcoming space to collaborate, share, and get inspired. **New to electronics or curious about tinkering?** You’re absolutely welcome. If you’re a beginner and want to experiment, I’ll have a couple of starter kits available so you can try things out—whether that’s blinking your first LED, putting something on a display, or experimenting with simple sensors. No pressure and no experience required—just an interest in learning and building. While we continue to pursue a more permanent venue for this Meetup, we’ll be using public library facilities based on availability. This session will be at the Worthington Park Library in the Olentangy Meeting Room.
