Melbourne Rooftop Garden Party
Melbourne Rooftop Garden Party
Although things might not be looking up now with WW3 kicking off, we do have a bit to be hopeful for at the moment: the treasurer is increasingly signalling a willingness to conduct economic reform, and so it's a super relevant time to be campaigning for a basic income 😉 On that note, we're probably overdue to get the crew together for another social meetup — I always enjoy meeting new people who are passionate about economic liberty. We'll be having a get-together in Brunswick, hosted by Owen Miller, one of our loyal supporters. Besides members from Basic Income Australia, there will also be some other political people. Feel free to bring a friend btw — there will inevitably be some lighter-hearted conversation too 😄 and people just there to enjoy the disco playlist 🕺🪩 Hope you can make it!
Depth, discovery and discussion: Finance
Depth, discovery and discussion: Finance
**We're bringing you a new series in 2026: *Depth, Discovery and Discussion*.** Girls Who Boss Melbourne is creating a space for real talk, shared wisdom and genuine connection — and you’re invited. This new series is all about coming together as a community to explore meaningful topics in a way that feels safe, intentional and refreshingly honest. For our second topic, we're exploring finance: the importance of financial security as a woman and how we grow it. This isn’t a speech, seminar or expert-led workshop. It’s a guided conversation shaped by all of us. Girls Who Boss will bring a set of thoughtful prompts and questions to spark dialogue, but the insight will come from the stories, perspectives and lived experiences we each bring to the table. Expect an evening of: ✨ Deep chats without the pressure ✨ Discovery through shared perspectives ✨ Discussion that feels grounding, supportive and fun ✨ Connecting with women who want to grow, reflect and boss up together Whether you come with something on your mind or simply want to listen and connect, this is a space for curiosity, vulnerability and community-led learning. Come join the conversation — we can’t wait to dive deeper with you.
Introduction to Curative Eurythmy: A Three-Session Experience
Introduction to Curative Eurythmy: A Three-Session Experience
Join us for a unique workshop hosted by Jenny Kuznetsova on Curative Eurythmy: Movement for everyday wellbeing, an introduction. Held over three consecutive Saturdays, 14th, 21st, 28th March 2026, 11am-12pm, the participants will have an opportunity to experience this extraordinary modality. Curative Eurythmy is a movement modality that creates harmony in the whole being. Through specifically curated movements, our three bodies, physical, emotional and mental are moved into incredible balance. The movements work strongly on the circulatory system and as such create organic deep activation of the breath. As the movements activate circulation in the body as well as flooding it with the health giving breath, the after effects create feelings of inner nourishment, strength and vitality. Curative Eurythmy is able to help with physical, emotional and mental imbalances as well as provide a general boost to our overall wellbeing that is so vital in an age where the nervous system is constantly overwhelmed with the pace of life. You are invited to try this unique and potent modality and experience the benefits firsthand. Tickets obtainable via the link below: https://events.humanitix.com/introduction-to-curative-eurythmy-3-session-experience
Forgiveness
Forgiveness
Somebody cuts in front of you out on the freeway. How do you react? You will never see them again, and it was probably unintentional anyway. Is it really that easy to forgive? Is it healthy? What happens when you are really suffering and your own suffering is unheard, even by you? How incredibly difficult it is to ‘forgive ‘in real world situations, yet we are told that students of the Ancient Wisdom who wish to aspire to spiritual advancement must ‘Learn to Forgive; Learn to Love’. Let’s look at Forgiveness in various religious traditions and advice from modern psychology and the Ancient Wisdom/Theosophy on pathways to Forgiveness. There will be time to discuss this thorniest of problems with attendees and even role play a few situations calling for Forgiveness. CBusData: The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI
CBusData: The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI
The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI One does not simply build reports on OLTP data. Join us on an epic journey from the depths of raw, normalized tables to the shining halls of a well-modeled star schema fit for Power BI greatness. We will demystify the differences between OLTP and OLAP, walk through star schema vs snowflake (and why Power BI has a clear favorite), and show you the compression differences between normalized and columnar storage that will make you never look at an OLTP model the same way again. We will cover the different types of dimensions, when to use them, and how to handle Slowly Changing Dimensions without losing your mind. You will leave knowing exactly how to identify a bad model, how to convert OLTP data into a clean star schema, and how to forge relationships that rule them all. Whether you are a data wizard, a curious hobbit, or somewhere in between, your models will never be the same.

In person peer-led support group for survivors of complex trauma
In person peer-led support group for survivors of complex trauma
**Complex Trauma Support Group** Our group is intended for survivors of complex trauma. If you are here, it’s likely that so much of who you are and what you have experienced in this life is actually invisible to most people––to family, society, coworkers, and the people who are around you. We are a peer-led group of survivors creating opportunities for ourselves and others to share our experiences, share support, and build relationships in kind community together. Survivor experiences might include: child sexual abuse, incest, child trafficking, and other experiences of people living with traumatic dissociation and complex PTSD. **What to expect at your first meeting:** Currently, we are offering a bi-monthly in person group at 2:00pm on the first and third Sunday of the month. The only criterion for joining the group is that you are a survivor of trauma wishing to have more kindness in your own life and share kindness with others, and that you agree to practice to group’s relational agreements available for view here: https://www.kindgroups.com/agreements. Joining the group is free of charge. We ask that new people connect with us for 30 minutes on the phone or on zoom before coming to their first group, so that we can determine together that we are a good fit. Our meetings last approximately 90 minutes. Participants are never required to share. You’re also welcome to choose a pseudonym and you will never be asked for private information. You are welcome to leave at any time. The kindness that survivors can share when among others who have survived similar childhood experiences is something we rarely get to experience. Time spent with others who understand even a little bit more about us is a relief. Our hope is to help ourselves and others experience that we are not alone. We wish for our efforts to be a cause of kindness in our own lives and the lives of each other. You can read more about the groups at www.kindgroups.com.
Humanist Program
Humanist Program
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be. Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk. Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. Powell Gold Star Referral Club Meetup
Powell Gold Star Referral Club Meetup
We meet at lunch each week and each meeting follows a fairly organized agenda. First all participants pass their business cards around. Then each member and guest is invited to give a one-minute overview of their company and what is a perfect referral for the week. We always have a 10 minute presentation from one of the members about their business in more detail. And finally we pass referrals. You're welcome to visit. Nobody is ever put on the spot. Bring plenty of cards!
