The meeting is very casual, come and go as you please. We meet in the upstairs area of Board Room. No payment, skills, tools, or RSVP necessary. Pick-up co-ed soccer Wednesday 6:30 PM- 08:00 PM. Please join our longstanding soccer game at Indian Spring Terrace Local Park, 9717 Lawndale Dr, Silver Spring, MD 20901-3025. We play on the fields behind the Silver Spring YMCA. There is parking at the back of the YMCA or on Fairway Avenue, which runs by the side of the field that we use. The games are friendly and as safe as possible (no slide tackling). Ages range from 15 years old to 65. Skill level is average to good. Beginner-friendly evening [Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_jiu-jitsu) (BJJ) class at [Pedro Sauer Academy](https://www.pedrosaueracademy.com/): Learn **escapes**, **submissions**, and **live strategy** with expert instruction. **🔥** No experience is required -- new students and first-timers are genuinely welcome. Classes focus on practical, real-world [self-defense](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-defense) fundamentals taught in a **safe**, **technical**, and **highly supportive environment**. We're into the knockout games, beginning with the Round of 32. England, will be facing the Democratic Republic of the Congo from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. England won Group L with wins over Croatia and Panama and a draw with Ghana. The Three Lions have reached the Last 16 in the previous four consecutive World Cups. DR Congo scrapped though as one of the eight best 3rd placed teams. This is the second World Cup finals The Leopards have qualified for. Their previous run in 1974 (as Zaire) they lost all three group stage matches and were eliminated before the knockouts. These two nations have never faced each other in any football match, competitive or otherwise. Mexico or Ecuador will play the winners of this one. Capoeira (capo-way-ra) is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that is unlike any other martial art. Capoeira incorporates flowing movements with kicks, dodges, and some acrobatics. It is often mistaken for a dance for those reasons. Since it’s origins in the 17th century, it has evolved from a secret fighting practice into an art emphasizing self-expression and community celebration. It is great for the body and mind! In addition to gaining strength and flexibility in class, students learn about Brazilian culture, history, and language (Portuguese). On November 26, 2014 capoeira was granted a special protected status as "intangible cultural heritage” by UNESCO. It's in Silver Spring. ***Join us for an evening in an electronics lab where we will attempt to run clean scans of graphene and gold samples, and then clean up that data with post processing.*** This is a high sensitivity experiment, and we do not plan on being successful so early. But we've had promising results lately - so we will be putting in the time. We are NOT meeting at our usual location, but rather at Steve's house/lab.
