While large-scale quantum computers capable of breaking current encryption aren’t yet available, the concept of “harvest now, decrypt later” is a significant concern. Now that NIST has released final versions of its first three Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) standards the race is on to make IoT quantum-safe. **We will explore** * What it takes to make an IoT solution quantum-safe. * The algorithms regulators, such as BSI, are recommending. * How to implement and transmit data between a device and an MQTT broker with TLS 1.3, ML-KEM, and ML-DSA using open-source tools. This meetup is for women and gender minority programmers in Zurich. As the title says, we meet to code. You can actually code together with someone or just enjoy the company of people coding next to you. You can for example bring your hobby project, a tutorial you'd like to try out or your next challenge on HackerRank. You don't need to come prepared though, you can also just drop by and can get inspired by / pair with someone else. We'll be meeting at the ETH main building (https://ethz.ch/en/campus/access/zentrum.html). Since there might not be any food / drink options open there on the weekend, consider bringing your own coffee if you need it as fuel for the coding :). I'll give a more detailed description where to find us in the comments as soon as I've found a table. While ETH can be tricky to navigate we haven't lost anyone yet! In this talk, you will learn how to talk to your phone and have an app on Azure to show your friend 5 minutes later. The basic DevOps tools you already know, plus a little bit of AI magic, are all you need! Window functions have nothing to do with the Windows operating system but provide a “window” to a result set when used in SQL queries. They are powerful, set-based methods to view data in unexpected ways. Window functions provide easy, set-based solutions to solve some common problems: * Using running totals * Performing operations in intervals * Identifying data gaps and islands * Performing aggregates without losing detail Many people are confused by window functions and do not know how to use them properly. This session will explore window functions, how they work, and how to use them. Demonstrations with several examples will solidify how window functions can simplify queries and make them more powerful.
