DARE | Bring Your Own Beamer, Uitnacht Arnhem
30 ipv 9 januari: Toekomst met faciliteren / Future with facilitation
English - see at the end.
Eigenlijk tegen beter weten in.

interim voorzitter IAF-Netherlands
Dear co-organiser of the future,
In our continuing effort to support facilitation IAF-Netherlands and LEF Future Center invites you to *facilitate the future* ā at the LEF Future Center
New technologies, shifting social dynamics, and global challenges are transforming how people work, learn, and decide together.
"Prostructing" (obstructing through co-operating) I read the other day. Do you also have that, that a client does not really want to innovate; or that the participants pretend to participate?
When we decide based on the past, we never arrive in a future that is different from the past Facilitating innovations in the courage to do something else. Actually against better knowing in. In this meeting, you can prepare for it.
Our purpose in this meeting is to explore what facilitation might become in this evolving landscape: designing sessions, our competencies, learning from the future as it emerges.
Together, we will experiment, reflect, and co-create possibilities for the next generation of facilitation.
AGENDA

13.30 Opening

Note: register directly with me, by emailing me via janlelie@wxs.nl or via iaf-netherlands@kpnmail.nl

šļøš¦£ From Loenermark to Posbank Power Hike (22 km) š»š
Weāre heading into the south eastern Veluwe for a stunning scenic route that stays wonderfully quiet and almost deserted for a big part of the way, before building up to a truly spectacular grand finale!
After around 6 km we reach the mysterious āAltar of the Loenermarkā (Altaar van de Loenermark). I have no idea what it is, so weāll discover it together. From there we continue through the beautiful heather and forest landscapes of Loenermark, one of those places where the Veluwe feels wide, wild, and open.
Next we pass one of the quirkiest monuments in the Netherlands: the Ijkbasis Loenermark 1957ā2007, a tribute to the calibration of measurement instruments from the past. The calibration itself might not sound exciting, but the location absolutely is, right in the middle of wide open heather, with big skies and that endless Veluwe feeling. It also marks about 11 km into the hike, a perfect spot to take our lunch break.
After lunch we walk straight through the iconic National Park Veluwezoom, famous for its rolling grasslands and its fluffy semi wild cows. To finish in style, we end at Paviljoen De Posbank for a well earned snack or drink with a view over what many call the most spectacular heather of the Netherlands, complete with rolling hills.
From there we head down towards Rheden, where you can easily catch the train or bus home. This is not a loop hike!
**šWhen and where to meet?**
Weāll meet at 10h at busstop Loenen, Leeuwenbergweg.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/LC3nNJQo57B5NnSy8
We are leaving a bit earlier otherwise we will find Paviljoen Posbank closed, which would be very sad.
ā° We **start walking a few minutes after meeting up** ā we donāt wait for latecomers, as the forest calls and daylight is short this time of year.
**š Coming by car?**
This is not a loop hike. If you park in Loenen, youāll need to make your own way back from Rheden afterwards.
**āøļø Planned Breaks**
After **11 km**: Lunch break at **Ijkbasis Loenermark** (bring your packed lunch, this spot is truly in the middle of nowhere) **20 min**
[https://maps.app.goo.gl/S5vAEpadAJs93ZrC7](https://maps.app.goo.gl/S5vAEpadAJs93ZrC7)
After **19 km**: Snack or drink at **Paviljoen De Posbank**
[https://maps.app.goo.gl/wowuqj3sRY5hcid37](https://maps.app.goo.gl/wowuqj3sRY5hcid37)
**šø Payment**
Please pay as soon as you sign up: To keep things fair for everyone, if we donāt receive your payment within 48 hours, we will need to remove you from the participant list. If thereās a waiting list, this will happen sooner (in less than 48 hours). If that happens, no worries ā youāre always welcome to sign up again if thereās space.
š Early Bird Deal! Join now for just ā¬4 ā available for 3 days (72h). After that, the price will be ā¬5.

**Details**
This is your chance to easily get acquainted with this fantastic hobby!
On behalf of Warmere, a club of tabletop wargaming enthusiasts who meet weekly in Almere, I can offer a one-time free introductory offer in the new year thanks to donations of materials: you'll receive a free Warhammer miniature and a lesson in painting it!
Want more? Join us on our Discord, and who knows, you might soon be building your own army, posting pictures of your hand-painted miniatures, and playing along with us!
This offer is primarily intended to introduce people from Almere to Warhammer and our players' club, Warmere.
There will also be people playing Warhammer 40k, so you can see the game in action right away!
Prefer D&D or do you want to paint your own miniatures? Of course you can come too! We will be happily chatting about all the hobbies and painting our miniatures :-)
Note: you do need to register, and there's a limited number of places.
Age: 12+
You get 1 miniature for free. You can buy another one or more at the spot.
Brushes and paint will be provided.
Because of donations the choice in different styles of miniatures is limited.
Location: de Nieuwe Bibliotheek Almere-Stad. BEfore the meetup I will send a message regarding the exact location.
As this is in a library I ask the participants to mind the surroundings and the materials.
Can't wait? Send me a message for more information!
PS: Do you have any Warhammer minis gathering dust or tabletop game materials you no longer use? Let me know, I might be able to acquire some (for a fee) for our club, to introduce other curious people to the hobby.

**We have limited space at the cafƩ, so if you've RSVPd and can't make it, please cancel as early as possible so another person can join!**
We now also have a WhatsApp group, where we want to organise get-togethers and other events. Ask one of the organisers at the next Meetup you join for more information and access.

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Compensation Data
**People Analytics 101: Making Sense of Compensation Data**
Compensation data is one of the most widely used and widely misunderstood forms of people analytics.
The session will cover where compensation data comes from, including market pricing data, internal payroll data, and benchmarking sources, and how companies think about structuring and analyzing that information. We will explore how compensation data is leveraged to set salary ranges, manage internal equity, support hiring and retention, and align pay with business strategy. A portion of the session will address common data challenges and limitations, such as market noise, inconsistent job matching, and incomplete datasets, while keeping the primary focus on practical use rather than technical depth.
The session will also look ahead at where the space is going, including the growing impact of pay transparency laws, expanding pay equity requirements, and emerging regulations in the US and Europe that require organizations to report on gender and pay gaps. The goal is to give attendees a clear mental model for how compensation analytics works today and why getting it right is becoming increasingly critical.
(note: we are back at Rev1 this month!)

Azure CBUS February: Build Your Own MCP Server
### Tools in your AI's Toolbox : An introduction to MCP Servers
The generative AI revolution has unlocked unprecedented capabilities, but the next frontier is agency: empowering models to interact with, query, and act upon the world. The current challenge is the āN x M integration problem,ā where every AI model requires a custom, brittle integration for each external tool or data source. This approach simply doesnāt scale. How can we give an AI access to our sales leads, code repositories, or IoT devices in a standardized, secure, and reusable way?
This session introduces Anthropicās Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open-source framework designed to solve this challenge and become the universal connectorāthe USB-C portāfor AI. MCP standardizes how AI models discover and use external tools, moving beyond simple function-calling to a robust, client-server architecture. We will dive into how this open protocol is creating a new ecosystem for building powerful, context-aware AI agents.
Join this session for a developer-focused introduction where you will learn how to:
Understand the core concepts of the open-source Model Context Protocol and its architecture.
Utilize pre-built, open-source MCP servers to instantly connect AI to tools like Git, Slack, and databases.
Build a custom MCP server to securely expose your own proprietary data and APIs as tools for any compliant AI.
Move beyond bespoke integrations and contribute to a standardized, collaborative, and open ecosystem.
Stop building one-off connectors and start building intelligent agents. This session will give you the practical knowledge to leverage MCP and create the next generation of AI that doesnāt just talk, but does.

AI is transforming how software is designed, developed, and deployed, dramatically accelerating velocity while introducing new categories of risk. As organizations adopt AI-assisted coding, autonomous agents, and increasingly complex model interactions, traditional application security approaches struggle to keep pace. This talk examines emerging AI-driven risks through real case studies from the field, highlighting issues such as insecure code generation, data-leakage pathways, model manipulation, and evolving supply-chain threats. We will explore how engineering teams must adapt their people, processes, and governance models to secure AI-augmented development workflows effectively. The session will then introduce agentic AI as the next evolution in application securityāautonomous systems capable of continuous analysis, multi-step reasoning, and real-time remediation. Attendees will learn how combining agentic AI with modern practices can reduce developer friction, improve coverage, and create a future-ready application security strategy designed for the demands of AI-native software development
CBusData - Ok I Want to Get Data into Fabric - Now What?
I love my job and one of the main things I do is help customers get going with any of the data technologies at Microsoft. Right now there are a lot of my customers asking about Microsoft Fabric. It's hard to weave across all the shiny new options across the Fabric landscape, let alone figure out where it fits into your organization. In this session we'll focus on answering one question - how can I get data into Fabric? We'll talk through the "it depends" options and see some of the options in live demos.

Humanist Community Celebrating Darwin Day
Dale Gnidovec, Curator of the Orton Hall Museum of Geology at The Ohio State University, will be presenting a program he has wanted to share with us for a long time: Plate Tectonics. His description of his program:
Continents on the move - Nothing in Earth history makes sense without moving continents - it tells us why mountains, volcanoes, minerals, and fossils are where they are. This talk examines the evidence for continental drift, why it was disbelieved, and explains how the more-encompassing theory of plate tectonics was developed and eventually proven. Dale is an energetic, incredibly knowledgeable, and very entertaining speaker and this will be another wonderful program by Dale. Hope to see you there!
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online
