ZH3 Hash # 1713: The St. Patrickâs Day Mad Shenanigans Hash
Hares are the 100% Prime Irish Beefy Hashers -Just Begginâ For Holy Guinness - Cumming Out of a Holy Bush & Prosecco Potato Popper.
Join us on our annual mad gallivant around ZĂźrich city in search of the precious pots of Golden Beer.
Rumour has it our national Saint will make an appearance this year to lead us on a merry Riverdance around ZĂźrich.
Thereâll be rainbows, golden treats and hot chocolate Baileys. Plus the best in Irish souvenirs from BallyBeijing as prizes for the best dressed.
So come dressed in your finest green outfits as we spread some Irish cheer - youâve 40 shades to choose from - so no excuses.
This being a Sunday trail it will coincide with the first Horrors Hash of the year. Thereâs a playground next to circle location to keep your Horror occupied while we engage in circle shenanigans.
**Where**:
See location. Typically within Zurich Zone 10. Look for English speakers wearing running gear.
**When:**
There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers all you can drink beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) plus snacks afterwards.
**All Welcome:**
If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know:
⢠We are a social running/walking group, physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour is useful.
⢠The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun.
⢠'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further.
⢠The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time.
⢠There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change.
⢠**After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards.
**Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?**
If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it.
'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.*
We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups.

COLD WATER PLUNGE
Welcome cold lovers! We have been practising cold water plunges for over 4 years. We believe in the benefits of cold water exposure. The feeling you get after the swim is magnificent, it makes you feel alive.
We have started this group to safely experience the cold water together. We motivate each other, do active warmup exercises, and also share our life stories with a warm coffee/tea afterwards.
The event is every Sunday at 11:30, we meet at the Mythenquai Badi entrance no matter the weather.
Take along: a large towel, comfortable bathing suit, flip-flops, and warm clothes (hat, gloves, etc). If youâre planning swimming out take along a bright swim buoy.
The event is Free.
IMPORTANT:
Every participant takes responsibility for themselves when attending this event.
Before attempting cold water exposure, individuals with health conditions (e.g., heart problems or hypertension) should seek advice from a healthcare professional. Safely acclimating the body to cold temperatures requires preparation and gradual exposure.
đŤđŁď¸ Poet-tea: The Lyric Parlour
đŻď¸ An intimate Sunday afternoon of eloquence, tea, and rhythm in the Dada atmosphere.
**Join us for a gentle and inspiring spoken word and reading session at the legendary Cabaret Voltaire** â the historic birthplace of the Dada movement, nestled in Zurichâs Old Town.
đ We will gather in the quiet library on the second floor to explore the power of the human voice. This is not a competition, nor an open mic with stage pressure. It is a shared sanctuary to explore voice, language, and presence.
đś In a supportive atmosphere, we will discover the alchemy of our voices:
* We will select and read poetic texts together.
* Weâll experiment with intonation, rhythm, pauses, and emotions.
* Weâll explore how a text transforms depending on how it is spoken.
đŁď¸ If you wish, you are warmly invited to bring your own text to read or declaim for the group.
No need to be a performer.
No need to be a native speaker. Curiosity and openness are all thatâs required.
đŞ Whether you love poetry, theatre, or spoken word â or simply want to gain confidence using your voice in English â you have a seat at our table.
Come speak where history was made!
đˇ Letâs gather and create an eloquent community for an afternoon.
As a thank you to our hosts, please support the venue by ordering a drink.

The Listening Room â First Gathering
**The Listening Room â First Gathering**
So much of life happens in loud spaces and quick conversations that never quite go beneath the surface. The Listening Room is meant to be the opposite of that â a quieter space where people can slow down, talk honestly, and actually listen to one another.
For this first gathering, weâll meet in a small group and explore a simple conversation prompt together. The goal isnât debate or performance â just thoughtful conversation and the chance to connect with others in a genuine way.
Our prompt for this gathering will be:
**When have you felt truly seen or understood by another person?**
Everyone will have the opportunity to share if theyâd like, but thereâs absolutely no pressure â listening is just as valuable as speaking here.
Weâre keeping the group intentionally small so the conversation can feel relaxed and natural.
Looking forward to meeting you.
â Benny
