Handy Bikes | Beginners' No Drop Ride
Handy Bikes | Beginners' No Drop Ride
Meet in the parking lot of the Handy Bikes Service Center. At the start of each ride, we'll go over introductions to have a sense of participants' cycling experience. Over the course of our rides, we'll address the following: group riding dynamics; safety (ABC check & trail hazards); gear shifting; hill climbing; audible and hand communication within the group, with other trail users, and automobile drivers; what to bring on each ride; etc... Bring your questions, water & a snack. When it starts getting dark earlier, we'll need lights as well. Helmets a MUST. If you can, and especially if you've had issues with your bike, come a bit early to have it looked at ahead of the ride. PS - all levels are welcome to join, however, be mindful that if you are an experienced rider, please be prepared to ride at the pace of the newest rider in the group. Each week, depending on who's in attendance, and participants' riding ability/comfort level, we may do skills practice as a group in the parking lot or at the west end of Wheeler Ave. Once everyone is comfortable, we'll go for a ride on local trails and neighborhood streets and finish back at the shop. Happy Pedaling !! \~Maya

If you change your RSVP after noon on the Friday before the hike, no refunds will be issued. GJ2 4U Annandale Korean food Raw seafood
Hi everyone! 😊 Here’s a little overview of our meetup on May 30th so everyone knows what to expect! 📍 We’ll be meeting at GJ 2 4 U at 7:00 PM to try their famous raw marinated crabs along with other Korean seafood dishes and sides. ⏰ Please try to arrive about 10–15 minutes early so we can get everyone settled before ordering. 🎒 What to bring: • Your appetite 😄 • A good attitude & willingness to try something new • Money/card for your own food & drinks • Comfortable clothes if you plan on joining us afterward ✨ Tentative agenda: • Meet & introductions • Dinner + trying different seafood dishes together • Hang out and socialize If everyone’s still having fun after dinner, we may continue the night by exploring some Korean bars around Annandale or checking out the new DJ pop-up / food court area at Eden Center🎶🍹 💳 RSVP & Deposit To help secure your spot and ensure fairness for everyone (so last-minute cancellations don’t take away space from others who want to attend), there is a $20deposit required at the time of RSVP but $10 if done early. This deposit helps confirm commitment since space is limited and goes toward organizing the event. Please note: • If you cancel your RSVP in advance or the event is canceled/rescheduled, your deposit will be fully refunded • Deposits may not be refunded for no-shows or last-minute cancellations • Please update your RSVP as early as possible if your plans change so someone else can take your spot Thank you for helping keep The Hoppers events organized and fair for everyone 💛
Volunteering with Capital Area Food Bank
Volunteering with Capital Area Food Bank
The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) leads the DMV region’s efforts to provide equitable access to food and opportunity to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity. Each year, it sources and distributes the food for over 45 million meals. Let's aim for a group of **12 volunteers** on June 27th to help sort and distribute food donations to visitors in need with CAFB at their Arlington Marketplace! **To join, you must RSVP and message me (Ryan) as soon as possible with your email address so I can add you onto the ADAG volunteer team.** Only those who are registered via this process will be officially on our team. Volunteer spots are limited so we can only take 12 and will have to forfeit even some of those spots if we have an excess available close to the date. **Please be committed to joining us if you register!** Additional info from their website: *Volunteers will help provide emergency groceries to residents of Northern Virginia at the CAFB Community Marketplace. This volunteer experience involves some heavy lifting and lots of standing and walking. The marketplace is located at Arlington Mill Community Center; 909 S. Dinwiddie St., Arlington, VA 22204. We are in particular need of Spanish speakers at this market.* Link to the organization's volunteer website if you want to learn more: [https://volunteer.capitalareafoodbank.org/](https://volunteer.capitalareafoodbank.org/) As always, the hangout may continue elsewhere afterwards if our collective so deems it. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- If you have Instagram, you can check out our account at asiandiningandadventuregroup for photos and announcements of group outings!
