This event brings together engineers, practitioners, builders, and leaders working across cloud-native platforms, open-source ecosystems, Gen AI, Data and Agentic AI. This is a project based course and we encourage learners to bring a small wood item to the first class. You can bring a 60s book-rack, a small occasional table, a simple chair or a shabby wood box. These objects can be wobbly, scratched or dented, and maybe a few bits missing- they can date from 19th to mid 20th century. Work on your own piece while learning the skills you need along the way. We will show you how to fix the wobbles and make joint repairs and how to repair lost or flaky veneers. You will also have an introduction to wood finishes from modern stains, varnishes and waxes to classic French polishing. This is a great way to get stuck into the practice of restoration. We will guide you through the process of assessing a potential project, learning about its construction and how to bring a sad relic back to shining glory. For our March meetup, we're back at the fabulous Accurx offices. During a recent clear-out at chez Burgin, an old, forgotten laptop was discovered discarded between a box of floppy disks and a collection of old Computer Shopper magazines. While the laptop was no longer functional, a painstaking data recovery process rescued the files on its hard drive via a collection of old adaptors and half-working wires. Among the files saved from the Wakefield Council recycling centre was a copy of the very PowerPoint deck presented at that meetup 12 years earlier. But what was in this digital "time capsule"? What happened to DevOps? What did it become? Is it now a tool, a job title, or did something "bad" happen to it? Are the thoughts shared over a decade ago still relevant today? **Bermondsey to Rotherhithe – from Bourbons to Brunel** This walk is presented by Central London Humanists and led by Robert Hall. Humanists believe we have just one life to be lived rationally and well, with compassion for others. This event is a guided walk of +/- 2 hours pointing out places of interest. We will be walking 3 Km / 1.8 miles. Bourbons in Rotherhithe? Yes, it’s true!
