Jako programista nie masz kontroli nad tym, kiedy GC, JIT czy JNI postanowią zniszczyć Twoje sny o niskim latency. A mimo to ktoś wciąż próbuje budować na tym bazy danych i systemy "bliżej metalu". W tej prezentacji pokażę, że wraz z Java 22 dostaliśmy potężne narzędzie: Foreign Memory & Foreign Function API. Dzięki tym API praca z off-heap staje się bezpieczna (oczywiście w pewnych granicach — ale to Ty je określasz), co pozwala pozbyć się pauz GC. A Foreign Functions umożliwiają bezpieczne wywoływanie kodu w C z poziomu Javy, bez potrzeby używania javah, kompilatorów C i całęgo zestawu zaklęć potrzebnych, by JNI łaskawie zadziałało. Zobaczycie, jak te nowe API przybliżają JVM do świata bare-metal — i dlaczego mogą stać się przyszłością systemów data-intensive, baz danych, a nawet narzędzi ML/AI. A wszystko oczywiście doprawione niedziałającymi przykładami i benchmarkami przygotowanymi pięć minut przed prezentacją. W międzyczasie dałem się porwać ideom TDD oraz Software Craftmanship, do granic możliwości wyeksploatować tak piękne w swej prostocie pomysły jak REST i NoSQL. Porzuciłem je, by zgłębić tajniki „system thinking” i zachwycić się siłą, jaką niesie ze sobą „metafora” oraz by odkryć, że rządzą nami te same prawa „natury”. Niepokorny wyznawca kościoła JVM, badacz bytecode’u i JIT oraz wszelkiej maści parserów, interpreterów i kompilatorów. Na co dzień walczący o lepszą wydajność w Neo4j. Od czasu do czasu można usłyszeć moje niskiej jakości żarty na temat architektury na konferencjach w Polsce. W wolnych chwilach trener w Symentis, autor bloga na [http://geekyprimitives.wordpress.com/](http://geekyprimitives.wordpress.com/) oraz samozwańczy dyktator w radach programowych wielu konferencji. **Serial(izacja) i niekończąca się opowieść…** Od niepamiętnych czasów, od kiedy SOAP, REST i “wiecznie żywy” Spring stały się standardem w branży, serializacja z wykorzystaniem XML czy uwielbianego przez frontendowców JSON, stała się “normalnością”. Większość z nas nie zastanawia się jednak, czy w dzisiejszym świecie, pełnym optymalizacji śladu węglowego i zwiększającym się kosztom usług, istnieje “lepsze” rozwiązanie problemu serializacji i wymiany danych, szczególnie na poziomie wieloplatformowym - nie tylko Java, JavaScript, czy .NET. Inspiracją dla tej prezentacji stały się prawdziwe wydarzenia, gdzie pewnej nocy podczas burzliwie wykonujących się testów wydajnościowych, JVM zabrał się za konwersję danych pomiędzy różnymi formatami, a następnie z uśmiechem w logach wywołał OutOfMemoryError. Postaram się pokazać metody i biblioteki (wspomnę o Kryo, Apache Fory, Protobuf, …) służące serializacji, których użycie warto rozważyć w przyszłych projektach. **Michał Jonko** Od prawie 20 lat w branży, gdzie spełnia się jako inżynier oprogramowania (chyba) każdego szczebla, a praca z JVM jest miłością pełną idealizacji i huśtawki emocjonalnej. Pasjonat optymalizacji, walki z wydajnością, automatyzacji, identyfikacji procesów i systemów decyzyjnych. Niestety również wymagający maruda, wielki “wielbiciel” Agile (pełnił nawet funkcję Agile Advocate), czciciel czytelnego i łatwego w utrzymaniu kodu funkcyjnego. The topic for March is "Our Bodies, Ourselves" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. ARRIVAL: Doors open for CMG at 5:30pm so that’s when we’ll plan to meet! That’ll give us plenty of time to fill out our Oscar Ballots, pick up some free popcorn, candy, and something to drink, mix, mingle, take some photos, pick up your Newfangled Kitchen Meal Deal, grab a seat in our CMG Reserved Section, then settle in to enjoy the Academy Awards on the Big Screen! PICTURES: We’ll take pics throughout the evening and the Drexel Paparazzi will be on hand as well. We’ll also take a big group photo around 6:40 near the entrance before the show begins. If you happen to take some good shots yourself, be sure to upload them on the Oscar Party Meetup event! RESERVED SEATING: As you enter the theater, the roped off section to the right marked “Reserved” is reserved for you, your guest(s) and the Columbus Movie Group! VEGAN MEALS: As previously mentioned, the food vendor does NOT have a vegan option at this year’s Oscar Party. However, we DO have a solution! I have reached out to several individuals who are affected. If you are a vegan, plan to attend the Oscar Party and did not receive an e-mail from me, please reach out via private message post a note below. I’ll provide details off-line. And while there won’t be a vegan meal option this year, I think we do have a workable solution. And, all other plans are usiness-as-usual: popcorn, sodas, candy, on-site paparazzi, decorations, bar drinks (including your first drink on the house), the Drexel’s Annual Oscar ballot contest, along with the Big Show on the Big Screen and a fun group of Movie Group friends to watch ‘em with! We are a real world Martial arts group. \ Called DO JUNG ISHU (the art of fighting) \ Based off of Jeet kune do we just continued where Bruce Lee left off. \ We have been around a while. \ We are donation based.
