Hunters Badminton club are a league standard badminton club. We have the use of four courts at the sports hall of the Harris Academy, Lambs Lane, Rainham. We have players from intermediate to league standard and usually have between 20 and 28 members every Tuesday evening. We play mainly doubles and have a mix of male and female players. We have space available for up to 6 extra guests per night. If you want a competitive friendly club come give us a try. Most of our members are not on Meetup so we will always show only 1 or 2 people going please be assured that there will be at least 18 members every Tuesday session.

For over 40 years, Scottish artist, author and lecturer Benjamin Creme (1922-2016), prepared the way for Maitreya, the World Teacher, and His group, the Masters of Wisdom. These spiritual teachers are now emerging and will inspire the building of an entirely new kind of civilisation where justice and freedom are the norm and peace will be assured. These talks are based on Benjamin Creme’s ‘Message of hope’, which millions around the world have heard. We will gather for the QG's first walk by the entrance to the Iconic Greenwich foot tunnel next to Cuttysark and head west towards London Bridge where we aim to arrive in approx 2.5hrs covering approx 7 miles. Depending on the interest and weather there’s an option to plunder Borough market for some food before we depart our ways. For those who prefer a shorter walk can make use of the train/tube station along the walk too! The entire walk will be along the Tamesis witnessing the remains of by gone era, from the glazed architecture of 21st century to half-timbering Tudor, cozy warehouse dwellings once symbolised the colonial trade, spot that set off the pilgrims to the so called free world, beaches of Bermondsey to creeks of Deptford, Rotherhithe tunnel to Tower bridge - Engineering marvels that challenges the time, and many more to spot on the day as we explore together! Things that I usually consider for my walks: Food and drink to get through the walk. Water: Aleast two litres. Day rucksack: That is comfortable to wear and allows free arm movements. Walking Boots: waterproof and breathable. trainers are OK if the ground is dry. Gaiters: recommended for wet weather conditions. Socks: proper walking socks to keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters. Layered clothing: helps to quickly adapt to changes in the weather and body temperature. A base layer (vest or t-shirt) and a mid layer (a micro fleece or shirt) and in cooler weather additional outer layer (a windproof jacket or thick fleece) Trousers: Ideally no jeans as they become heavy and cold in the rain, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry and on warm days shorts are OK. Waterproof jacket: An essential in wet weather. Hat or cap: stay warm in winter and shaded in summer Sunglasses: Essential for any summer walk Sun cream: when the weather dictates. Note: Please be advised this is a free, self-guided trip organised by a community group. All trip details, travel advice, and planning come from personal knowledge and suggestions and is not a professional service. The community group seeks to offer the space and opportunity to enjoy activities with others led by a host, but is not a guided tour in the business sense. Circling is a present-moment relational awareness practice. We’re bringing our attention to what’s unfolding in real time, repeatedly returning to what’s happening within ourselves, between us and in the shared space of the group. We practice approaching our own experience and the experience of others with curiosity, becoming more aware of the subtleties of what is present. The emphasis is on staying in contact with your experience as it unfolds. The unfolding may be quiet and internal or it may lead to words – naming sensations, thoughts, emotions, impulses or perceptions. It might also include movement or other non-verbal expression. The idea is not to try to change what’s there, but to become more aware of what it is and how we are meeting it and relating to it in the moment. Often awareness follows expression and this is okay too. We are all swimming in the ocean of the unknown. Occasionally the whale lifts its head above the surface and we catch a glimpse – a moment of seeing something about ourselves that we hadn’t noticed before. Over time, many people find that this kind of awareness practice deepens their sense of aliveness and helps them notice patterns in how they relate to themselves and others. With ongoing practice, some people discover an increased capacity to be with themselves and others in a more conscious, grounded, flexible and responsive way – where we can experience ourselves as active participants in our lives rather than passive reactors to what is happening internally or around us. There’s no expectation to be vulnerable or to share anything that feels too personal or emotional and you are always welcome to speak, remain silent, pause, step back and take a break, leave or ask for what you want, including asking for support. Butler called "Gangsters of Capitalism") Butler's argument in *War Is a Racket* (1935): that many U.S. interventions were driven less by national defense than by corporate and financial interests, with Butler portraying himself as an enforcer for business and Wall Street. We can consider the moral ambiguity of his insider critique—whether complicity strengthens or undermines credibility and also consider some of the concrete reforms he proposed (e.g., “conscript” capital before soldiers, restrict the military to coastal defense, and have only those who fight decide on war). Butler’s life arc clearly changed from pacifist upbringing to warrior to antiwar crusader—and asks whether true understanding of peace requires firsthand knowledge of war, and what that implies about the cost of suffering. So do we need to suffer to understand suffering? Do we have to experience war to appreciate peace? As one more question: in the movie "A Few Good Men" Jack Nicholson's character says that "you have the luxury of not knowing what I know" so do most of us go through life oblivious to real violence and suffering? We are recruiting new group leaders for virtual men's groups! Our primary groups are outdoor movement groups, but we are launching virtual groups for the state of Ohio and beyond and the groups will move outside in the spring, creating room for men's groups, women's groups and coed groups all over the country.
