Plenty Gorge Loop Via Blue Lake
Heading up for a 7km walk up in Plenty Gorge (near Bundoora). Other hikers have noted that depending on the weather there may be a creek crossing, but last time I was there I was able to walk over the little bridge no problem.
I plan to set off from a Google map marker named "Os (A cluster of steel forms) by Alexander Knox 2007" on Linacre Drive around 10am in the morning.
There's a blue algae warning for the lake. For my sake, please don't drink it 🥲. Or swim in it.
As with last time, only 10 people can register through meetups because I'm a silly goose who won't pay my life away to get premium, but if the event fills up and you want to come anyway, just message me to let me know.
Dinner at Narai Classic Thai - $20 deposit Required
Located on Station Street in Fairfield, Narai Classic Thai Restaurant is a vibrant spot that perfectly blends tradition with innovation.
Try their signature dishes like the special Thai noodle dish, red duck curry, and a delightful whole fish dish, all crafted with fresh ingredients.
It's pretty reasonably priced in a great area. Why not come down and join us for some food and conversation. If you haven't been before, don't be shy.
Still not sure? Why not check out their menu.

A $20 non refundable deposit is required for this event and will be refunded on the night.
The deposit will be required 48 hours from RSVPing to the event or you will be moved removed from the event.
Please make payment to the following account only if you are on the going list.
Please note the new bank details.
BSB 013125
Account 150808654
Please let me know once payment is made. PLEASE USE YOUR NAME AND VENUE AS YOUR REFERENCE.
Please only RSVP to an event if you fully intend to show. Pulling out of a dinner or another booked event (with a venue) on the day is a kick in the teeth for both the venue and the organiser. I understand there are instances where this is unavoidable, but you are short changing the venue on the revenue they are reliant upon, especially when it comes to paying their staff. It may be too late to rebook those tables with other patrons. Not to mention the stress this puts the organisers under.
Please be considerate.

Must See Thursday: I LOVE BOOSTERS at the Drexel + GRAETER'S!
Join us as we get together to see the top-reviewed comedy-drama, I LOVE BOOSTERS! The film comes from writer/director Boots Riley and follows a group of shoplifters who take aim at a cutthroat fashion maven. Here are details, trailers and our plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: The film follows a group of shoplifters who take aim at a cutthroat fashion maven. It is written/directed by Boots Riley (Sorry to Bother You) and stars Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Poppy Liu, Eiza González, LaKeith Stanfield, Will Poulter, Don Cheadle, and Demi Moore.
BUZZ AND ACCLAIM: I Love Boosters was the opening film at this year’s SXSW Festival and premiered to rave reviews! It is currently earning a tremendous 97% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes where critics call it, “an unexpected celebration of friendship, community, and solidarity.” Others call the film “an exercise in radical empathy,” a “masterful” and “optimistic” film designed to “provoke discussion” while making the audience laugh.

SUMMER OF ICE CREAM: GRAETER’S! Established way back in 1870 in Cincinnati, this historic, family-owned brand is famous for their delicious small batch ice cream and any chocolate chunk flavors! They are currently the only commercial ice cream maker using the French Pot method that they’ve been using since they first opened! Plus, those chocolate chunks, oh my goodness! Vegan options are available.
PLAN: We’ll plan for a 7pm-ish showing and will meet in the lobby area about 20 minutes before the show. Advance ticket purchase not required for this theater but Showtime and complete details will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer.
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
