How to Start Your Art Collection: Exclusive Visit to Artist Studio
How to Start Your Art Collection: Exclusive Visit to Artist Studio
Today we look at the works of an artist who over the past two decades, has built an oeuvre consisting primarily of screen prints on paper and canvas. Prior to that, the artist had worked extensively in photography, filmmaking, and set design. The screenprinting work is informed by architecture - ancient and modern structures, calligraphy, graffiti, handwriting, and the movement of the masses through big metropolises. Other techniques on paper are included in the visit - from lithography to etching, cyanotype to woodblock printing - and more! Please note, the studio visit starts promptly at 12:00. This studio is located on the top floor and has no elevator: you will have to walk four flights of stairs. Beverages will be served, poetry may be read. The event is hosted on donation basis between €25-35. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR STUDIO VISITS: Get to know a handful of carefully selected artists who are enhancing, interjecting, and challenging art history through new media, new ideas, and new formats. Every artist builds their own universe, and for one exclusive afternoon, we are welcome into their sacred space of creation. The artist will tell their story and you are free to ask questions, engage in dialogue, and leave feeling inspired - and even with a beautiful new artwork to illuminate your space!

Top Rock & HIIT Dance Workout - ALL LEVELS!!!
Top Rock & HIIT Dance Workout - ALL LEVELS!!!
**Combining a variety of TopRock break dance moves in the format of HIIT training, this class will be like no other you have taken! Specifically created with non-break dancers in mind, this class is fun, engaging and totally beginner friendly!** 🤸‍♀️ *What exactly is TopRock you might be asking?* Toprock is the **standup part of breakdance**. When break-dancers are showing their skills, they will often start with toprock. Beginners often find toprock to be easier than other elements of [breaking](http://%5Bhttps//www.mygrooveguide.com/dance-info/breaking/what-is-breaking%5D(https://www.mygrooveguide.com/dance-info/breaking/what-is-breaking) "breaking"), because it is done standing up. So this will be a great introduction to breaking for beginners or those wishing to expand their breakdance skills. **Taught by 3x Breakdance World Champion and Choreographer of Flying Dreams show at Wintergarten, Bboy Lou.Ease of the Flying Steps! He has also worked with contemporary dance companies such as Akram Khan Company, Wang Ramirez and Constanza Marcras / Dorkypark.** **📋 Agenda:** * *Check in will begin 15 minutes prior to class*. Please arrive on time to ensure class starts at the designated time. **💸 Cost**: *Donation of 5 euros or more* **to help with maintaining the venue and group maintenance costs.** **👉 Other Things to Note:** * *Class will be in English/German* * *Please make sure to wear comfortable clothes you can move and sweat in. Shoes should also be comfortable, although they are not mandatory. Feel free to dance barefoot or in socks if you like.* * *Bring a water bottle to refresh between sequence breaks.* * *Changing room and toilets provided on site free of charge.* * ***If you RSVP and are unable to make it, please be considerate and cancel 24 hours in advance to make space for someone else.***

Cycle & dine - Rathenow to Brandenburg
Cycle & dine - Rathenow to Brandenburg
**ATTENTION - This tour is postponed now to the 4 July due to the heat to be expected this Sat.** **But everything else stays the same.** ========== FACTS ========== ROUTE: Rathenow > Milow > Kirchmöser > Brandenburg/H LEVEL: Intermediate DISTANCE: 45ish kms MEETING POINT: 09:20 - Berlin Südkreuz ========== FACTS ========== ========= DETAILS ========= **ROUTE:** Starting in Rathenow we have a very flat tour ahead of us. The first stop is planned after some 10km at the [GastHof Milow](https://gasthof-milow.com/) which is known for serving very delicious fish. Just in case there might not be enough seats available we will head further to Plaue, passing the Plauer See and then have plenty of other opportunities to sit down, look across the water and enjoy some food and a drink… or two. The final route depends on mood and weather! After \~45km we will arrive the main train station in Brandenburg/H where we can hop into any RE1 coming. **SPEED:** Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front. This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat." **DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:** This is an about 45ish km ride, with mainly solid but also some soft ground. In general: Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Road bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me! And if you want to bring Kids or Animals please get in touch before! **MEETING POINT:** 09:20 - Berlin Südkreuz, at the NORTHERN ticket machine (facing the TV tower) on platform 6. I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike. But you can hop in at any other station if you want (and dare). **TICKET:** It is 23,60 both ways / person, so this time it does make much sense to organise a BBT. I will get one if at least one other person wants to join me! And don't forget your "[24-hour ticket bicycle VBB network](https://www.vbb.de/en/tickets/tickets-for-your-bicycle/24-hour-ticket-bicycle/)" ticket which is about 7,50 EUR. **WAY OUT:** 09:44 - dep. Berlin Südkreuz, platform 6, taking RE4 to Stendal Hbf 10:04 - arr. Rathenow, platform 1 **WAY BACK:** 17:04 - dep. Brandenburg/H, platform 3, RE1 to Frankfurt/Oder 17:38 - arr. Berlin Wannsee, (ME) switching trains to S2 18:01 - arr. Berlin Friedrichstrasse OR any other train at :04 or :44 **RECOMMENDATIONS:** Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling. While we'll stop somewhere for a lunch and/or coffee please always bring your snacks but especially some drinks along! And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work? Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube to fix a flat tyre a big plus! While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you! Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it. And in case you need special medical treatment please make me aware of that upfront. Even if everyone is responsible for themselves I'd like to be able to handle it if necessary. ========= DETAILS =========

Exploring "Pearl of the Eifel" – Monschau & Hiking in Eifel National Park
***Join us this summer to hike in Eifel National Park and discover Monchau and the Holy Roman town of Aachen.*** **HOW DO I JOIN THIS EVENT?** Click on link below to get complete info and to sign up for this event by getting your ticket. [https://urbanaturetravel.com/event/monschau-eifel-national-park-hiking](https://urbanaturetravel.com/event/monschau-eifel-national-park-hiking) **SPECIAL OFFER FOR NEW USERS** * 10% New User Discount using promo code: **MEETUP10** * Valid for this trip or any other trips available on our website. **WHY GO?** Fire, water, air and earth. Almost no other region in Germany is dominated by the elements as much as the Eifel uplands. The landscape reflects the geological development of millions of years in fast motion: valleys crossed by rivers, the cones of extinct volcanoes, dry maars which have become moorland, bizarre rock formations and layers of different hill ranges. The Eifel region was settled by Celts, Romans and Franconians amd the the products of their cultures are still there to be admired: romantic towns such as **Monschau also know as the "Pearl of the Eifel"**, with half-timbered houses dating from the Middle Ages, the fascinating remains of Roman structures and imposing castles such as “Burg Eltz”. The town is also surrounded by beautiful countryside and is a great base for hiking and outdoor activities. **WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS?** * **Exploring Monschau "Pearl of the Eifel":** Charming and picturesque village with preserved half-timber houses in the Eifel mountains on the Rur River Valley. Monschau exudes with history, architecture & romance. * **Hiking in the Eifel Region:** This region was shaped by volcanic activity and although the last volcano erupted about 10,000 years ago, evidence of the Eifel’s turbulent past can be seen in the crater lakes, called maars, that pepper the Vulkaneifel landscape. The region also boasts some of the loveliest fairy tale towns and medieval castles in the country. * **Short Guided tour of Aachen:** Aachen is known for its history and culture, as well as its thermal springs and spa. The city was the preferred residence of Charlemagne, and was the place where **31 Holy Roman Emperors** were crowned Kings of the Germans. It's also famous for **Aachen Cathedral**, a **UNESCO World Heritage Site**, which was built in the 8th century and is considered one of the most important examples of Carolingian architecture. * **Aachen Cathedral:** Aachen Cathedral was the very first site to be granted **UNESCO World Heritage** status in Germany, and with good reason: built in around 790 to 800, the cathedral is of world importance in terms of the history of art and architecture, and is one of the great examples of church architecture. The final resting place of Charlemagne, it was also where German emperors were crowned for 600 years. * **Aachen Thermal Baths (Optional):** In Aachen, water and wellness have a long tradition. While in former times, the Romans relaxed in the therapeutic waters of the Aachen mineral springs, today, the Carolus Thermen thermal pools offer the perfect escape from everyday life. We take a walk in Berlin to meet new people or people we already know 😁 It's a way to spend a few hours together on a Sunday afternoon. **How it works?** The concept is very simple: * We meet at Alexanderplatz Station at 14,00 o'clock (we use the Whatsapp Chat to find each other: I will post there my exact location in the station) * I wait for people for 10 minutes, till 14,10, then we start to walk direction West, crossing Museum Island and Mitte 🏛️🏘️ * We reach Tiergarten and we will cross the entire park, seeing some of its interesting points🌲🌳☘️ * We finally reach Café am Neuen See: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kSui84icxyU6hQG56 to sit down together to take something to drink or eat 🥐☕🍪 * The total length of the walk is about 8kms I consider that the event will last in overall around 4 hours (2 hours of walk and 2 hours at Café am Neuen See), but people are free to stay together longer, if they want 🙂 What I provide is leading the walk and the people at Café am Neuen See, but I do not force anyone to stay shorter or longer. I do not provide a "personal support" for people who arrive after 14,10 (do not write to me expecting "private support"). You are responsible to check for the weather and decide if come or not. Thanks for understanding. If you have to contact me, make it via Whatsapp, not here on Meetup. WHATSAPP GROUP 💬 to find each other (join it, we use this group to find and synchronize us) [https://docs.google.com/document/d/157uLVXObKt1a4NqqvPa09NJW-050YBwHLW-7DbOD8R8/](https://docs.google.com/document/d/157uLVXObKt1a4NqqvPa09NJW-050YBwHLW-7DbOD8R8/)

How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
It’s time to take control of your mental health. How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself. Here is the secret of being positive and free: Thinking positively is not enough. You also have to get rid of the negative thinking. Your mind is like a garden. You can plant many beautiful flowers in it, but if you don't get rid of the weeds when you plant your flowers, the weeds will soon take over the whole garden. A positive thought is like a flower in your mental garden, and a negative thought is like a weed. You cannot expect to have a positive mindset if you continue to have negative thoughts dwelling and growing there. So, how do you get rid of the negative thoughts? That's what this Meetup is all about. Attend this local meeting and find out! The Meetup event will be led by a consultant who had helped many people live happier in life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This group is created by the Dianetics & Scientology life improvement center.

It’s time to take control of your mental health. How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself. Have you ever suffered from a traumatic experience, a deep loss or been through a painful breakup? Has your ability to communicate suffered as a result? And after that, even though you "moved on" did you find that things were never quite the same? Have you ever looked at childhood photos, or reminisced your early life and wondered where that happiness and spark went? Are your emotions out of your own control? Have you ever felt, even if you aren’t aware of it, that possibly you are getting in your own way of your happiness and success? How does this affect your self-confidence? Find out what is at the root of all stress, anxiety, depression and self-doubt. Find out how and why you hold yourself back from achieving your goals and having the life you have dreamed of. As soon as you learn what is at the root of these unwanted conditions, you’ll see it is something you can DO something about. You will not be labeled or categorized at this MeetUp.
