#51 Spring 2026 Harvest: Green Teas (绿茶) & Old-Growth Trees (古树) with Michal
Dear Tea Lovers,
This May, we are thrilled to welcome Michal Butor (founder of Teabar in Bratislava), who has been exploring and guiding expeditions through China's famous tea mountains since 2015.
Michal is actually traveling through China right now 🌸, and he is bringing his freshest discoveries straight to our table! For this session, we will explore a beautiful spectrum of flavors, ranging from **delicate, fresh greens all the way to complex brews from old-growth trees**. As we sip, Michal will share firsthand stories from his travels.
As always, we love getting delightfully nerdy about our tea, but please don't worry if you're completely new to the tea world! There is always plenty of time for socialization, friendly chats, random conversations, and connecting with fellow tea enthusiasts.
We’re looking forward to seeing you—whether it's your first time joining us or we're welcoming you back!
Warmly,
Vienna Tea Lovers
*20€ - a symbolic fee to cover the room location expenses and the tea tasted

Photo Walk - Along U3 (MaHü/Westbahnhof)
Join me for a photo walk along (above) the U3! :)
We will meet at the rooftop of Leopold museum (also known as MQ Libelle), then make our way along Mariahilfer Straße to Westbahnhof, then a slight detour to Maria vom Siege church and finishing the walk at Schmelzbrücke. After the walk everyone is welcome to join me for a drink at a nearby cafe/bar.
The event is free, but will be limited to 10 people as it is meant as an opportunity to connect. It is appropriate for all reagardless of age/skill/gear.
Humming Traditions: SODAI - Straw, Form & Wind
Step into a slow, mindful morning and discover Sodai, traditional Lithuanian straw mobiles that once filled homes with balance, harmony, and quiet beauty. In this workshop, we will explore the geometry of air, learning how to prepare and string straw into delicate symmetrical forms that sway softly with every breeze. Piece by piece, your hands will follow the same patterns that generations before us used to invite order and peace into their homes.
🌿Limited spots. The group is limited to 8 people. You can secure your place by purchasing a ticket through the link:
https://doobeedoo-goodies.sumupstore.com/produkt/humming-traditions-sodai-straw-form-and-wind
🌿Date: 13th of May
🌿Time: 09:30—12:00 (it might take longer, depending on group tempo)
🌿Location: DooBeeDoo Goodies Atelier (Märzstraße 86, 1150 Vienna)
An immersive workshop for quiet hands, patient minds, and those who enjoy the slow rhythm of creation.
You’ll learn the basic techniques of straw preparation, stringing, and construction, and experience how a simple natural material can transform into something light, precise, and full of meaning. Together, we’ll move through a calm, meditative process, each gesture connecting thought, breath, and creation in quiet balance.
By the end, you’ll leave not only with your own handmade Sodas, a timeless ornament carrying both heritage and your creative touch, but also with the knowledge, focus, and stillness that this ancient craft awakens. It feels less like finishing an object and more like completing a gentle ritual of patience and peace.
To keep the experience personal and attentive, the group will be small and intimate, space is limited, so that every participant can receive individual guidance and care.
This workshop invites you to slow down, focus, and reconnect — with your hands, your thoughts, and the quiet poetry of simple materials. No previous experience is needed, only patient hands, a calm mind, and an eye for quiet detail.
🌿🌿🌿
Humming Traditions is a series of creative workshops that explore the living, breathing essence of cultural practices. Each event invites participants to connect with ancient techniques, natural materials, and artistic expression in a hands-on, immersive experience.
The series celebrates the quiet resonance of tradition, the subtle vibrations, textures, and forms that have carried meaning through centuries. Whether through sound, movement, or craft, Humming Traditions is about experiencing culture as a living, dynamic, and tactile art form.
Each workshop stands on its own yet shares a common thread: creativity, mindfulness, and a connection to nature and heritage. Participants leave with newly learned skills, a calm mind, and a deeper appreciation for cultural artistry.
storch-colony in Marchegg
Dear friends,
The storch-colony in Marchegg/castle is one of the touristic highlights in the region Marchfeld.
There are some storch couples, breeding already and we can see them striding through the ponds and seeking frogs. Or cruising over the natural sanctuary of Marchegg.
There are lots of other birds as well, like red kites, singing birds or greylags.
Some protected plants are for completing an awsome nature event.
Unfortunately the public transport is not so easy, than to other destinations.
We have to take a very early train from Hauptbahnhof: **08:46 !**
The problem is the Bus from Marchegg Bahnhof to Marchegg Hauptplatz, because it\`s a school-bus essentially with a restricted timetable.
The alternative is 3 km by foot on asphalt.
But the times to return are more comfortable
I was there already, to checkout the best ways to go. and i'm convinced, definitely it pays off !
It would be great to see you again
greatings from
Adi
Liebe Leute,
Adi

🌲Forest Hike from Vienna (with 🐼)
Outdoors are back! **Thursday 14th May is a public holiday** and you are invited to hike with us through the peaceful silence of the Green Prater's vast forest, walking all the way to its far side.
We meet at 13:55 outside the Praterstern station, on the side of the station that looks at the Prater. The exact **Meeting Point** is just outside the tunnel with the large bicycle parking. In Google Maps look for "Türkis Praterstern", we will wait in front of this restaurant. A funny little pug named Uschi will be with us!
We start hiking exactly at 14:00 and we mainly follow the Stadtwanderweg 9. After 2 hours of walk, we'll do a 30-minute stop to have a short picnic in a meadow if it is not wet (please bring a blanket and some snack for you!). We plan to be back at the Praterstern station at 18:00.
Please bring 1 liter of water and wear sturdy shoes and comfortable clothes. The walk is long (about 12 km) and the terrain might be wet in some points if it rained the day before. If heavy rain is forecasted we'll postpone the hike and notify all participants 48 hours before the event.
IMPORTANT: This is not a guided hike, but simply a chance to experience nature around Vienna together, so everyone is responsible for their own health and safety.
If you need more information, please ask in the comments.
Bratislava Discovery: Bunkers (from Vienna)
Past-era discoveries and open networking night in Bratislava, Slovakia, conveniently starting and ending at Vienna Main Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof).
After arriving in Bratislava's Petržalka suburb by direct train, we'll first head to the corn fields near the Austrian border to scout hidden WW2 bunkers and an iron curtain memorial site. Underway, we'll also look for the now-defunct tracks of the old Viedenská električka tram which until 1935 hauled theatre-goers and coffee lovers all the way to Vienna downtown.
After so much history, it's time for early dinner. Fast-forward to a local restaurant in Bratislava's quaint downtown with tasty, reasonably-priced Slovak food and beer.
Full and satisfied, we'll continue on to the [International Night Bratislava](https://bratislava.ixpat.com/internationalnight) for networking, games and fun. Right after this social highlight, we'll hop on our train back to Vienna, arriving shortly before midnight.

Brompton Social Ride - ESC Special: Douze Points!

Free In-Person Meeting: Healing from Trauma and Past Betrayals
This is a free, in person meeting.
Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse.
Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well.
Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship.
Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action?
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships!
Break free from self imposed limitations
Here we will discuss:
• How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes.
• Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you?
• Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it?
• Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love?
• Fights & arguments - what's really behind them?
• What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others?
• How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change?
• Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them?
• How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about?
• How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career?
Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general.
Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person.
Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life.
We look forward to having you join us!
This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
