Melancholia tells the story of two sisters, who meet each other again as one of them gets married in a castle. The family gathering is fraught, bringing up old scars, which the women have to navigate. All the while, a distant star turns out to be a planet (or, at least, a planet-sized metaphor) that threatens to destroy the world as it hurtles towards Earth. This was perhaps Lars Von Trier's high water mark in mainstream cinema\*, a visually spellbinding meditation on depression, loneliness and familial bonds that somehow manages to mix in apocalyptic elements. Kirsten Dunst gives probably her best ever performance in the lead, heading a cast that includes regular Von Trier players Charlotte Gainsbourg, John Hurt, Udo Kier and Stellan Skarsgard alongside his brother Alexander, Charlotte Rampling and Kiefer Sutherland. We will have several leaders on hand to cater to everyones pace/ability. Ultimate Frisbee Pickup! All experience welcome! Main details: • For first-timers: you're very welcome, no experience necessary, we can teach you the rules and how to play. You just need a willingness to run around a LOT! Bring trainers (or cleats/football boots) and clothes you can run in and plenty of water • Please try to bring both a light top and a dark top as this makes splitting into balanced teams easier • Throwing from 2:00pm ish, we'll kick off a friendly pick-up game around 2:15. It's fine if you can only make it later on - we play with substitutes so you can join in at any point. If no one is there when you arrive, don't worry, people are probably just late! If the meetup is not cancelled, frisbee will be happening! • Afterwards we always head to a pub garden and have a drink or two :) • Frisbee is a non-contact sport, but the occasional bumps can happen, we're all playing at our own risk

A fun way to compare wines from two different countries at a time. House Wine is squaring off two countries' wines against each other each Thursday in March. We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM. It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. I'll try to have signs outside Marian Hall that Identify our group. We hope to have you join us!
