**Another world is possible with Ven. Amy miller**
**Green Tara Practice as a Path of Compassion in Action**
Our external world today often appears littered with division, violence, and alienation. Rather than grow dismayed by external experiences that show cruelty and heartlessness, let us explore how our vulnerability can become a source of resilience and positive change.
This long weekend retreat offers a meaningful pause, a chance to reconnect with inner strength, inner wisdom and compassion. The beautiful Green Tara practice explores a path of inner transformation by being present with our pain, fear, and aversion. This retreat incorporates Lam Rim (Stages of the Path) meditation along with the sadhana and mantra recitation of Green Tara. By opening our hearts in kindness to ourselves and others, the potential exists for our external reality to shift more beneficially as well.
Join us for this nourishing long weekend of practice, reflection, and renewal—and become part of a shared path of compassion that brings benefit both within and beyond ourselves.
Venerable Amy Miller is a beloved spiritual teacher, practitioner and Buddhist nun in the Tibetan tradition. She has dedicated her life to sharing the profound teachings of Buddhism with the world. DDD Aggregates & Your ORM
**DDD Aggregates & Your ORM**
**By Matthias Noback**
Over time you've created lots of data models that are mapped to tables in your relational database. Now you want to untangle the "mess" using Domain-Driven Design practices and patterns. This is very exciting; you're planning to separate your business domain into smaller subdomains, implemented by so-called Bounded Contexts, with explicit boundaries. But you are using an ORM, and the ORM knows about Entities, but it doesn't care about Bounded Contexts. It allows you (and often requires you) to link remote concepts in the code, ruining those boundaries you imagined...
In this presentation, we'll explore the real-world problems you'll run into when trying to apply Domain-Driven Design patterns in an average framework/ORM-oriented code base. We cover central DDD concepts, and indicate potential conflicts with the way frameworks and ORMs treat your data model. Of course, we'll also consider work-arounds and solutions.

Feeling Alone in a Crowded City: Why Loneliness Happens and How We Connect
**This event is donation-based.**
Contribute what feels right for you. If you're not able to give right now, that's completely okay — you're still very welcome. You can also choose to contribute at the event or afterwards.
✨ If you'd like to contribute now, you can do so here: https://tikkie.me/pay/7jn9nag68m8tuufnri40
**Description:**
Living in a big city like Amsterdam can feel paradoxical: surrounded by people, yet deeply alone.
Many individuals quietly struggle with loneliness, lack of meaningful connection, or difficulty forming close relationships—even when life appears full on the outside.
This meetup offers a safe, reflective space to explore loneliness without shame or judgment. We will look at why loneliness happens, how it affects our mental health, and what actually helps us build deeper, more meaningful connections.
This is not therapy and not a lecture.
It is a space for shared reflection, psychological insight, and human connection.
**What We’ll Explore:**
✅ Why loneliness is so common in modern city life
✅ The difference between being alone vs feeling lonely
✅ Practical ways to build authentic connection (small, realistic steps)
**Details You Need to Know:**
**When:** Thursday\, June 11\, 2026 \| 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
**Where:** Zoku, Amsterdam
**What to Bring?** A notebook, a pen, and an open mind
This event is open to:
* Anyone feeling lonely, isolated, or disconnected in daily life
* Individuals who feel surrounded by others but still emotionally alone
* People who want to build more authentic, grounded relationships
**Limited Spots Available!**
To keep the space safe, intimate, and interactive, this event is limited to **10 participants**. Please RSVP only if you’re sure you can attend.
If the event is full, you’re still welcome to join the **waiting list.** A spot may open up if someone does not confirm their attendance, and you will be notified if one becomes available.
**Support This Initiative**
If you find value in this session, you’re welcome to contribute with a donation to help support future events.
***
⏳ **Arrive on Time!** ⏳
Please arrive at least **10 minutes early** so we can start on time and make the most of our shared space.
**Why In-Person?**
Conversations about loneliness, belonging, and human connection benefit from shared presence and authentic dialogue. Being together in the same space allows for reflection, emotional resonance, and the realization that many people silently experience the same sense of disconnection—even when surrounded by others.
**About your host:**
This event is hosted by **Armandina Ramírez**, psychologist and founder of [www.nutrimind.life](http://www.nutrimind.life). She creates safe and reflective spaces for people navigating emotional challenges such as stress, self-doubt, and loneliness in modern urban life.
*In a city full of people, meaningful connection is still within reach.*

**De Nacht van de Ruimte 2026: Over moonshots en het belang van groot dromen.**
Tickets+Info via:

\-\-\-\-
PS. The event is largely in Dutch, with a keynote and perhaps 1 or 2 talks in English. If you can follow spoken Dutch you're good to go (attendees probably happy to chat in English during breaks), but if you don't then it's possibly best to stay tuned for our upcoming Meetups which are quite often English-first.

Improv for Life Weekend workshop 2 Polarities, Stories & Meaning
Improv for Life Weekend workshop
Improv for your personal development. Playful. Powerful. Transformative.
What if real life could feel more like improv—full of joy, connection, creativity, and flow?
Improv for Life is a one-of-a-kind course that blends the magic of improvisation with personal development. It’s not about being funny or performing on stage (though that might happen too!)—it’s about learning to navigate life with more presence, courage, and flexibility.
In this course, you’ll uncover the hidden wisdom in improv games and exercises, and apply it to real-life challenges in a way that’s light, energizing, and deeply impactful.
You’ll practice life-changing skills like:
Being fully present
Listening deeply
Relating authentically
Acting with courage
Finding meaning in the moment
And explore rich, human themes.
Whether you’re a professional, a creative, or a curious human navigating change, Improv for Life offers a safe, playful space to shift stuck patterns, unlock your creativity, and reconnect with what makes you feel truly alive.
Course Structure:
Four full days, split into **two independent weekend workshops** — join one or both!
**If you are new to improv it is recommended that you do Workshop 1 before you do Workshop 2.**
#### **Workshop 1: Play, Presence & Relationships (16-17 May)**
**Saturday**: We’ll explore the playful side of being human — how we learn and grow through curiosity, experimentation, and even failure. At the heart of this is presence: being fully in the moment, responding to what is actually happening rather than what we think should happen.
**Sunday**: We’ll focus on the relational side of being human — how our identity is shaped and revealed in connection with others.
#### **Workshop 2: Polarities, Stories & Meaning (13-14 June)**
**Saturday**: We’ll explore the inner tensions we all carry — the different pulls, needs, and paradoxes within us. Instead of fixing them, we’ll practice holding them with presence and curiosity, and see what wisdom emerges.
**Sunday**: We’ll explore how we create meaning through stories — how patterns form in our lives, and how shaping or breaking those patterns can lead to more honest and life-giving stories.
**Sign up** by clicking the blue button on [Improv for life - Improv Utrecht](https://www.improvutrecht.nl/improv-for-life/) or go to improv-utrecht.weticket.io
### **Pricing**:
* €279 per workshop
* ***Early bird***\*:\* €209 per workshop (until 1 month in advance)
* **Both workshops**: €379
* all prices are including 21% VAT, ask Marieke for a specific invoice
What previous participants say:
“I feel more resourceful, more playful—and more me.”
“Before, I thought my life was a mess. Now I know—that’s just a story I tell myself.”

“I used to think I had no control over anything—but now I know that with awareness, I can influence a lot of outcomes.”

We will then return to Rhenen, with the option of visiting this pittoresque old town.

National Park De Maasduinen 20 km
We’re heading out for a beautiful 20 km loop hike from Afferden through the gorgeous Nationaal Park De Maasduinen.
This route takes us through a striking Limburg landscape of forest, sandy paths, open heathland, river dunes, and wide views.
Along the way, we pass the ruins of Kasteel Bleijenbeek and climb an uitkijktoren for a panoramic view over the Maasduinen landscape.
One of the special features of this hike is that we cross the Maas river twice by small ferry. These crossings give the route an extra sense of adventure and connect the Maasduinen landscape with the village side of the river.
After one of the crossings, we continue to the village of Vierlingsbeek, where we’ll take our longer break for a drink. After the break, we make our way back toward Afferden, completing a varied loop through forest, heathland, castle history, river scenery, ferry crossings, and quiet Limburg countryside.
A hike with forest energy, open heathland, castle ruins, a lookout tower, two Maas river crossings, and a relaxed village drink stop.
**📍When and where to meet?**
We’ll meet at 11h15 at Busstop "Afferden, Veer naar Sambeek" https://maps.app.goo.gl/kcg4hBvRsHoUjBSa6

We don’t wait for latecomers, as we have a long route ahead and want to enjoy the full day properly.
