[ARNHEM] Bitcoin Meetup with CRAZY POOL
* 16:30 — Crazy Pool @ Timestamp (Korenmarkt)
* 17:30 — Diner @ Flor Fina (Korenmarkt)
* 19:30 — Drinks @ Flor Fina (Korenmarkt)
## English
Bitcoin Meetup with Crazy Pool!
This month we’re doing something fun: before the meetup (for those who want to join) we’ll play Crazy Pool at Timestamp on Korenmarkt. Crazy Pool is similar to mini golf, but you use a cue to strike a ball through various obstacles. Playtime is about 45 minutes.
Afterwards we’ll have dinner at Flor Fina. You can also join later if you only want to come for drinks.
The Bitcoin Meetup is suitable for both beginners and experienced bitcoiners. Ask your questions and join the conversation about the latest developments in the world of bitcoin.
Would you like to play Crazy Pool or join us for dinner? Please let us know so we can account for it when making the reservation.

Entrepreneurs Evening - Pub Edition
Hi all,
We’re back at Mick O’Connells and ready for another strong evening!
We’ve got our own space again. Walk in, turn right at the bar, head past the dart boards, and you’ll find us in the side room.
We've introduced a simple rotating format that gives you the chance to actually speak with everyone in the room.
Short, focused conversations, good energy, and a lot more fun than it sounds.
We’ll throw in a few conversation topics to get things going, but how you use the evening is entirely up to you.
Come with intention, or don’t. Talk business, find clients, meet future partners, make friends, or just unwind with people who get it.
We’re all building something, and we all have to roll with the punches.
Only rule: you’re an entrepreneur, freelancer, or about to become one within the next 3 months. If not… the clock starts now ;)
Try to arrive on time so we can kick things off properly.
Can't find us? Look for the grey Gnome. He’ll guide you better than any sign ever could.
See you there.

**✏️ Title: Measuring the environmental impact of Google's AI - interactive explainer**
**💡 Speaker: Ozan Ogreden**
**🍃 Abstract:**
I built an "interactive explainer" that reproduces Google's methodology from Elsworth et al. (Measuring the environmental impact of delivering AI at Google Scale, Aug 2025, https://arxiv.org/abs/2508.15734).
I'd like to share the explainer and my observations with the community. What stands out to me is a striking analytical (or rhetorical?) choice by Google team, which seems to be leading to a downward bias in headline-reported figures of their work.
With the community, I'd like to attempt at two goals. One of them is a "narrow-minded goal", trying to find a charitable interpretation of what may have motivated Google's choices (specifically in the discussion related to measuring environmental impact of LLMs). The second is a goal with a more important perspective: Given our discussion, what's the best use of our time to move the needle in sustainable IT?
*Ozan works at GreenPT:*
GreenPT is a GPT-powered chat platform, and robust API, trusted by governments, businesses, privacy-focused organizations, and developers. Running on renewable energy and hosted in Europe for strict data protection, GreenPT gives you and your team the answers you need with a clear conscience and total transparency.

**✏️ Title:** Holistic Digital Sustainability
**💡 Speaker:** Maryse Meinen
**🍃 Abstract:**
Less is More! This interactive session brings you inspiration and practical tips for embedding more sustainability all throughout your digital Product Development Cycle! Of interest for any role in the whole cycle of our process, from Product Owner to Agile coach and from business analist to tester!
**📖 About the speaker:**
Maryse works at the Rabobank improving our way of working and inspiring people to embed more sustainability in how we do Product Development. She is also a Stoic Practitioner.
**🎤 Pitches**
Our goal is connect people around Sustainable IT. In order to build more connections, we would like to offer the stage to everyone who wants to share something. We will timebox each pitch on 2 minutes exactly!
Please note that this session is intended as a community gathering, so commercial pitches are to be avoided :)
**🔎 Looking forward to seeing you there!**

Hiking excursion Moerputten Bridge & Forest - Den Bosch North Brabant region
Hi everyone! For those who want to enjoy nature, trips/excursions, and generally a more outdoors setting, let’s get together for a hiking excursion! The plan is to meet at Utrecht Central (and/or a train station that is closest to our hiking area), and then we begin our hiking route.
For first-timers (or as a helpful reminder 😉), I recommend that you wear a comfy outfit & shoes and bring water & a snack or two. At some point during the excursion, we can do a break in-between to rest and eat/drink for a while.
Depending on the time & weather, and whether people are up for it, there’s always the possibility of follow-up drinks later that day.
More info about the route/location:
https://www.komoot.com/smarttour/4265776?ref=atd
The route is a 25km one, starting & finishing at Den Bosch Train station. To my knowledge, dogs are allowed, but double check beforehand
More tips on finding the group along with helpful contact info with the host will follow in the comments the day before the meetup.
To those interested, hope to see you there! 😄
In case of bad (NL) weather, the event might be moved to another day.
Meet-a-Maker: Lynn Shore
Meet-a-Maker is a 30-minute session to have a one-on-one talk with artists currently working at Mediamatic. We are lucky to be inspired by the many artists who work and stay with us for exhibitions, residencies and workshops. We welcome you to meet them and be inspired as well!
**About the Artist**
Lynn Shore is a green witch, herbalist, and educator based in Amsterdam. Her work explores how people can reconnect with nature in urban environments through plants, observation, and everyday ritual.
With a background in science and special education, Lynn has spent over 25 years studying and practising herbalism, including training in the UK (Medical Herbalist) and the Netherlands (HBO Kruidengeneeskunde), alongside permaculture, horticultural therapy, and nature-based education. She has also worked for over two decades as a complementary therapist, bringing a holistic approach to wellbeing.
In 2010, she founded [Urban Herbology](http://www.urban-herbology.org/), offering walks, workshops, and courses that help people engage with edible and medicinal plants in the city. She also initiated the [River of Herbs](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Bvc8ZgERXoAZTUKA7) community gardening project, supporting access to freely available food and medicine through urban growing.
Lynn is the author of [The Green City Witch](https://greencitywitch.com/): Weaving a Magical Life in Urban Spaces, and teaches the Green City Witch course, where she guides students in developing a personal, grounded relationship with urban nature.
Her work brings together practical plant knowledge, folklore, and lived experience, encouraging a slower, more attentive way of relating to the natural world — even in the heart of the city.
She has a particular interest in supporting neurodiverse individuals through nature connection, herbal practice, and diet.
**Topics**
The conversations with Lynn are meant for anyone whose main topics of interest are:
* Consult with a Medical Herbalist
* Urban edible and medicinal herbs

Hilversum Sketching — Gooilust 🌿🎨
📍 Hilversum Station (center side, near AH to go), 10:30 → ~16:00
🚶♂️ ~3 km walk to park, ~3 km in park plus walk to the Proeflokaal De Serre (expect 6-8 km of walking in total)
🎯 Gooilust
Bring: sketching gear, water/snacks, foldable chair or blanket to sit on, comfy clothes + extra layer.
We’ll walk together from the station to Gooilust (~3 km), a large park around a mansion with plenty of beautiful spots to draw.
We’ll spend 2–3 hours sketching in the park, with longer, relaxed sessions (30–60 min) and time to explore different views.
Afterwards, we’ll walk past a farm (you can buy fresh milk, cheese, yoghurt or kefir — bring a bit of cash if you are interested) and continue to Proeflokaal De Serre for a drink, food, and a toilet break. From there, we’ll take the bus (line 6 or 106) back to Hilversum.
No pressure — just draw and enjoy the outdoors 🌿✏️
[New Type of Event] Picnic Friday Night with an (optional) Tango vibe
With warm & good weather on the horizon again, it's time again to get more picnic-y & outdoors-y 🌄
For this new season, let's revisit the old picnic gathering formula, but add into the night vibe & spicy dance theme (in this case tango, because other dances are oversaturated with events 😊)
The premise:
A picnic gathering starting from 19:00 & ending 23:00 sharp
Since it's evening vibes, BYO food/drinks/games still applies but think time appropriate (don't go big on alcohol though!)
Dancing aspect, music starts 20:00 & ends 23:00 sharp!
Exact location in Griftpark:
To be concluded, but assume close to where the meetup event location currently is set at
Additional notes for the tango aspect:
* you're very much welcome to join in & dance, even with no experience. I can show you a thing or two so you can get a taste & give it a go 😊 Depending on how many, either via a quick group tryout or I help you out individually
* The tango aspect of the event is through the Utrecht Tango Cafe Milonga community (also organized by Constantinos)
More info --> https://www.utrechtcafemilonga.com
If you have any further questions, feel free to message the host
Depending on the time & weather, and whether people are up for it, follow-up drinks can always follow later that day.
To those interested, I hope to see you there! 😄
