Challenging the UX Mantras
**UX Salon** is thrilled to welcome you to a special event in collaboration with **[Masters in Design for Responsible AI](https://ai.elisava.net/master/design-responsible-ai/)** hosted at the beautiful auditorium at **[Elisava](https://www.elisava.net).**
**Speaker**
In this talk by **[Irene Pereyra](https://www.linkedin.com/in/irenepereyra/)**, a heretic’s stance is taken on the sacred mantras of UX such as “Good UX is simple,” “Good UX is universal,” and “Good UX is intuitive,” challenging them one by one. Through client and personal projects, the argument is made that good UX design is neither universal nor timeless, but situational and shaped by the context of the here and now. The audience is invited to reconsider what “good” truly means in digital design today.
**Irene Pereyra** is the co-founder of the independent design studio Anton & Irene and the author of Universal Principles of UX (Quarto, 2023), with a second book, The Accessible Design Reference & Specification Book, forthcoming in summer 2026. She is also a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).
Irene also works at the intersection of design and policy with the Danish think tank 21st Europe, where she contributes to speculative design Blueprints exploring how Europe is rethinking policy, technology, and design. Her work focuses on making complex systems understandable, human, and future-focused.

Vive una experiencia única recorriendo Montserrat desde otra perspectiva, a lomos de un caballo y rodeado de un paisaje espectacular 🌿✨. Una de las montañas más emblemáticas y místicas de Cataluña, con vistas panorámicas que invitan a bajar el ritmo y conectar con la naturaleza. Durante **1 hora y media de paseo a caballo**, disfrutaremos de una ruta **apta para todos los niveles** 👌. **No se necesita experiencia previa**: dentro de la propia actividad, un **instructor oficial de equitación** nos explicará lo básico para conducir el caballo con seguridad y confianza antes y durante la ruta 🐴. Los caballos son dóciles, tranquilos y fáciles de manejar, lo que permite disfrutar de la experiencia con calma.

El bienestar de los caballos es un aspecto fundamental en este tipo de actividades. Los caballos son animales muy sensibles y su cuidado es una responsabilidad importante para las personas que trabajan con ellos.
En las rutas se utilizan caballos acostumbrados a este tipo de salidas tranquilas por la naturaleza. Las actividades se realizan a un ritmo adecuado, adaptado tanto a las personas como a los propios animales, evitando recorridos exigentes o sobrecarga.
El estado de los caballos, su comportamiento y su condición física son aspectos que siempre pueden observarse directamente en el propio centro.
Nuestro objetivo es disfrutar de la experiencia en la naturaleza manteniendo siempre una relación de respeto hacia los caballos y el entorno.

This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Matthew Jorat: Matthew Jorat is a Customer Solutions Manager at AWS with nearly three decades of expertise in AI, cloud transformation, migration, modernization, IT, technology, and business. His career spans infrastructure engineer, solutions architect, security auditor, customer success director, support and services director, and operations officer. He was an early adopter of AWS services as a customer, and his current role at AWS uniquely blends his technical and business skills as he partners with executive teams to translate strategic priorities into measurable business outcomes through cloud adoption, AI implementation, and operational excellence. Matt leads end-to-end AI initiatives for enterprise customers, identifying high-impact use cases and maintaining relentless focus on measurable ROI. He holds eight AWS certifications and serves as Adjunct Professor at Franklin University teaching cloud computing and AWS architecture. His expertise encompasses GenAI, agentic AI systems, migration, modernization, and optimization strategies that drive transformation at scale.

Girish Bhatia: Girish Bhatia is a seasoned technology delivery leader with deep expertise in cross-domain program management. Girish brings over two decades of experience in the information technology industry.

His work includes API-based integration platforms, data-center and mainframe modernization, and enterprise cloud adoption initiatives.

Five presenters will take the stage to showcase something they've built, solved, designed, or imagined on the ServiceNow platform - and a panel of judges (plus YOU, our amazing audience) will score them live.

Each presenter gets 10 minutes max to wow the crowd with:
