Come and join us every Saturday for a fun session of badminton. **This session is open for lower intermediates and above (no complete beginners allowed).** What that means is that you should have a grasp of doubles gameplay and be comfortable with short serves at minimum. **What Do You Need** Don't worry about equipment; racquets and shuttlecocks are provided, and there's no need for a badminton license or insurance. Just bring your indoor sports shoes and a willingness to meet new friends and have lots of fun. There are changing rooms and showers. **Get There Early** Try to get there early to change and warm up so we can start right on time. **Registration & Payments** Registration is 12€ per person, and you can sign up via PayPal through this event page. Join us for a long pose workshop with a female model, led by figurative artist John Kelly. The session consists of 45 minutes of drawing or painting, followed by a 15-minute break, and then another 45 minutes with the same pose. John will be present throughout the entire session to offer individual guidance on the principles of drawing and painting from life. If you prefer a more self-directed approach, you are welcome to work independently at any time. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and more experienced artists. It offers a supportive environment to develop your artistic style while exploring different aspects of academic drawing or painting, experimenting with new techniques, or refining compositional ideas. It's designed to guide your exploration of the human form through an anatomical lens while capturing the model's emotional presence. As always, posing for you are professional fine art models affiliated with the Beaux-Arts de Paris and other Parisian life drawing ateliers. Please bring your preferred art materials. All media are allowed, including pastels, ink, watercolor, or paint. Rev. Steven Clevenger is an ordained spiritualist minister with over 40 years experience as a Spiritual Healer, Clairvoyant and Spiritual Teacher, educated and trained at the White Lily Chapel. Rev. Siobhan Wolf Shaffer is an ordained spiritualist minister and certified medium and healer with over 20 years experience. She began her development in 1988 in Pennsylvania and continued when she moved to Ohio in 1998 where she studied at Rays of Lights Church with Rev. Steven Clevenger. The topic for July is "Shoes" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome.
