OSTELLO BELLO OLYMPIC GAMES
OSTELLO BELLO OLYMPIC GAMES
**Are you ready for the Milano–Cortina Winter Olympics? We’re not.** **That’s why we’ve created our very own Ostello Bello "Olympic" Games: a glorious display of questionable athletic skills and high-level nonsense.** While the "other" guys are busy with the official **Milano-Cortina 2026** ceremonies, we’re bringing the real "action" to the streets of Milan. From February 6th, we aren't gathering to break world records; we’re gathering to break the laws of physics. This isn’t about the podium; it’s about the survival of the chillest. Get your "winter" gear ready, because we’re about to prove that being an elite athlete is 10% talent and 90% just showing up for the vibes. **The Incentive:** Every participant gets a **shot**. The "legends" who actually win take home an **Ostello Bello T-shirt or a Drink**. ## The Disciplines: Official "Technical" Standards Every day from **7 PM to 9 PM**, our "athletes" will face a rotating schedule of these elite winter disciplines: ### 1\. Air Hockey: The Wrist\-Flick Battle A high-speed duel where the only thing frozen is your gaze on the puck. * **The Goal:** Smash the plastic disc into the hole. * **Requirement:** Move your hand faster than your brain can process and celebrate every point like you’ve just secured a gold medal. ### 2\. Boxing\-Glove Beer Pong: The Clumsy Champion Challenge We took a classic and made it impossible by adding the "Yeti factor." * **The Twist:** You have to play wearing massive, padded boxing gloves. * **The Challenge:** Gripping a tiny ball with giant hands is the ultimate test of patience. Success here is statistically unlikely and basically a miracle. ### 3\. DIY Curling: The Professional Slide The most serious-looking sport in our program. We’ve replaced expensive stones with pots and ice with felt pads, but the tension is real. * **The Setup:** A "House" (target) taped on the floor and a "Hog Line" for the release. * **The Action:** Launch the pot while your teammates run alongside it with brooms, screaming *"Hurry! Hard!"* just like in the real tournaments. * **The Score:** Closest pot to the center wins. Clean floors are a bonus. ### BONUS DAY: The "Wildcard" Game The discipline is a mystery. Our local legends will choose the challenge. Expect the unexpected: and probably more shots. **AND REPEAT.**

Cerco persone serie e disposte solamente a divertirsi, senza puntare mazzette grazie mille. Antonio

**Hello PyData People!** We are excited to announce our **second event of 2026**! This time, we will be hosted at **iliad Italia**'s headquarters in Milan for an evening dedicated to AI at scale—ranging from Foundation Models for credit risk to sovereign and open-source data architectures. 📅 **When:** Wednesday, February 18, 2026 📍 **Where:** iliad Italia, Viale Francesco Restelli, 1A, 20124 · Milano **⚠️ Important:** Spots are limited. Please keep your RSVP updated to allow others to participate if you can no longer attend. *** ## 🕒 Agenda * **18:30:** 🚪 Doors open & Check-in * **19:00:** 🎤 **Talk 1:** Open Source & Sovereign Architecture – Riccardo Lorenzon * **19:45:** 🎤 **Talk 2:** Klarna’s Foundation Model – Valeria Verzi, Sudhakar Periyasamy, Goran Dizdarevic * **20:30:** 🍕 **Networking & Aperitivo** offered by Iliad! *** ## 🎤 The Talks ## 1️⃣An Open Source and Sovereign Architecture for Data, ML and AI **Speaker:** Riccardo Lorenzon (Head of Data @ iliad Italia) Iliad Group invests billions in sovereign AI ecosystems, open-source tech, and low-carbon data centers to reduce reliance on non-European providers and bolster Europe's technological autonomy. True to Iliad Group's 'make-over-buy' culture of full control, iliad Italia is building a data architecture in a hybrid on-prem and Scaleway (Iliad Group cloud) setup, combining open-source tech and managed services. This powers data management, self-service analytics, and ML/AI use cases for our 12m+ user base and 1000+ employees. During this speech, we will guide you through the tech journeys we have built and are building. **About the Speaker:** Riccardo Lorenzon serves as Head of Data at iliad Italia, where he works on evolving the data function into a modern setup covering the full data value chain from sources to business decisions. He previously led data teams at Vedrai, an AI startup, and Whirlpool EMEA, handling projects in analytics, machine learning, and cloud platforms across areas like consumer service, supply chain, and sales. With a Master’s in Mathematical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and studies at ETH Zürich, he combines a hands-on approach to delivery with a strong focus on strategic value for the business. *** ## 2️⃣ Building the Klarna Foundation Model: A Unified Transformer for Customer Behavior Modeling at Scale **Speaker:** Valeria Verzi (Principal Data Scientist @ Klarna), Sudhakar Periyasamy, Goran Dizdarevic In this session, we introduce Klarna’s Foundation Model (KFM): a lightweight Transformer trained on more than 130 million customer events to learn a unified representation of customer behavior. Rather than building separate, task-specific models, KFM operates as a common sequence-modeling backbone that encodes behavioral patterns across different touchpoints of a customer’s interaction history with Klarna. We will walk through the technical design of the system, including event tokenization, sequence construction, and Transformer architecture, as well as how the learned embeddings are exposed as a shared layer for multiple downstream use cases. Attendees will gain a concrete understanding of how foundation models can be applied to behavioral sequence data in fintech, and how a single model can serve as a reusable, extensible representation layer across heterogeneous modeling tasks. **About the Speaker:** Valeria Verzi is a Principal AI Scientist at Klarna, where she leads the development of next-generation models, from foundation models to advanced deep learning or agentic systems. She has nearly a decade of experience applying machine learning to high-stakes decisioning across fintech and insurance. Before her current role, Valeria served as Klarna’s Head of Data Science for Fraud Prevention. Prior to Klarna, she held senior data science roles at Generali and NTT Data. Valeria holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. *** See you there! 🚀 *The PyData Milano Team*

Turning Rentals Into Income: How Investors Pay Off Properties Faster
Turning Rentals Into Income: How Investors Pay Off Properties Faster
#### Turning Rentals Into Income: How Investors Pay Off Properties Faster #### **Featuring Guest Speaker: John Blackburn** **👉 Get your FREE TICKET [HERE](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/turning-rentals-into-income-how-investors-pay-off-properties-faster-tickets-1980492192461?aff=cicmeetupapp)** #### A lot of people get into real estate because they want freedom. Then they buy a rental…and realize most of the rent goes straight to the bank. They technically own property, but the mortgage controls the income. And waiting 30 years for properties to be paid off doesn’t feel realistic. This meetup is about understanding a different way to think about rental properties… one that focuses on paying them off sooner so the income is actually usable. **Featured Guest Speaker: John Blackburn** We’re excited to welcome John Blackburn as our guest speaker for this event. John has been actively investing in real estate since 2006 and has: * Been involved in **5,000+ real estate transactions** * Helped investors **acquire over $150 million in rental property** * **Raised more than $100 million** in private capital John didn’t start with family money or shortcuts. He built his portfolio by focusing on clear systems, real numbers, and long-term strategy. For this meetup, John will walk through how investors shift their focus from simply owning rentals to building properties that eventually pay them…without a mortgage attached. **What You’ll Learn** John will break down, in simple terms: * Why most rental properties don’t produce much usable income early on * Why buying more rentals isn’t always the answer * How investors structure their properties to pay off mortgages in a fraction of the time * How properties can work together to eliminate debt faster * What changes once rentals become free and clear This approach is often referred to as an accelerated paydown strategy — using rental income intentionally to reduce debt sooner, rather than waiting decades for mortgages to run their course. John will also share a simple calculator you can use to see how this works with real numbers and realistic scenarios. **The Core Idea** When a rental has a mortgage, the rent has one job: **pay the bank.** When a rental is paid off, the rent has a different job: **pay you.** Most people only see one timeline…30 years. This session shows how investors shorten that timeline and gradually increase their income as properties become free and clear. **Who This Event Is For** This event is for people who want more than just “owning rentals” on paper. * Rental owners who are tired of most of the rent going to the bank and want a clearer path to real, usable income * New investors who want to understand how rental properties actually build wealth over time before jumping in * People with capital who want to invest in real estate with intention and a long-term plan * Anyone serious about freedom and curious how rental properties transition from debt-heavy assets into income-producing ones **Event Details** **Location:** Ohio Brewing Company - 421 E 2nd Ave, Columbus, OH 43201 **Date & Time:** January 25th, 6–8 PM (Doors open at 5:30) **Cost:** Free (Seats are limited - RSVP required) **👉 Get your FREE TICKET [HERE](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/turning-rentals-into-income-how-investors-pay-off-properties-faster-tickets-1980492192461?aff=cicmeetupapp)** If you’ve ever wondered how rental properties actually turn into freedom —this is the room to be in.
