Women in Cloud - International Women's Day
Women in Cloud - International Women's Day
To celebrate ***International Women’s Day***, we’re bringing our community together for a special evening featuring two inspiring women in tech. This event is all about sharing experiences, learning from real journeys, and creating space for honest conversations about building a career in cloud and technology. Whether you’re just starting out, making a transition, or already deep in the industry, you’ll find stories, insights, and perspectives that resonate. **And some exciting news** — thanks to our friends from [Programmable](https://www.programmable.tech/), attendees on the day will get a chance to win a ticket to the Programmable conference (valued at $449!). Expect practical lessons, personal reflections, and the kind of discussions that remind us why community matters. See you then! **Topics** **1\. One Platform\, Infinite Connections** An API Platform is not simply a layer for routing traffic; it is an operating model for how organisations design, secure, and monetise digital capabilities. This session opens by defining what an enterprise API Platform looks like in practical terms and why it’s becoming a core part of modern engineering and business strategy. Using a real implementation as context, the discussion examines how Apigee enables structured governance, streamlined developer onboarding, intelligent traffic control, and deep observability. It also addresses how the platform supports emerging AI, LLM, and MCP patterns, outlining its security architecture in production environments and demonstrating how APIs can be bundled into consumable products to create commercial value. Particular attention is given to advanced protection strategies for managing both conventional API workloads and AI-driven traffic. Attendees will leave with a concrete, experience-backed framework for turning an API platform into a measurable driver of innovation, resilience, and revenue. **About the speaker** Neha is an Engineering Manager at MYOB, leading the API Platform capability. With nearly two decades of experience in the IT industry, she has built deep expertise across cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and large-scale technology transformations. **2\. Stateful Secrets in a Stateless World: Navigating the Azure Serverless Landscape** Serverless is more than just a buzzword; it represents a fundamental shift from managing infrastructure to focusing entirely on code. In this session, we’ll begin by comparing serverless with traditional server-based models to unpack the true differences in cost, maintenance, and scalability. From there, we’ll walk through a real-world application architecture to see how Azure Functions can be used to solve practical engineering problems that conventional servers often struggle to handle efficiently. Drawing on lessons learned from hands-on experience, we’ll also explore common pitfalls, optimisation strategies, and cost-saving techniques. Whether you’re new to serverless or already working with cloud-native systems, this talk will leave you with a clearer, more practical blueprint for designing and building modern applications. **About the speaker** Archana is a Master’s in Data Science candidate with a foundation in Computer Science and Engineering. She brings hands-on experience from her background as a Full Stack Developer, where she focused on building web applications powered by Azure serverless backends. By blending her software engineering roots with her current work in data science, Archana designs cloud-native solutions that are both scalable and data-driven. She is passionate about sharing practical lessons and helping the community understand how to effectively bridge the gap between web development and serverless technology. **Agenda** 5:30pm – Food and networking 6:00pm – Presentation 1 6:40pm – Presentation 2 7:20pm – Networking Thanks to our sponsors: [HAL systems](https://www.halsystems.com.au/), [Mantel](https://mantelgroup.com.au/) and [REA group](https://www.rea-group.com/)! How 3 yr projects can be delivered in 3 months - no kidding!
How 3 yr projects can be delivered in 3 months - no kidding!
For our March meetup we are excited to host Darryl Wright who will demonstrate how you really can deliver 3 yr projects in 3 months using Value Stream Mapping and Flow Efficiency. Find out what other organisations are doing to slash the time it takes them to deliver value, and how you can do it too. This talk explores: 1\. What is Value Stream Mapping \(VSM\)\, and Flow Efficiency ? 2\. What does VSM reveal about how most organisations deliver value today ? 3\. The big lightbulb moment: can 3 yr projects really be delivered in 3 months? \(hint: yes\!\) 4\. Where to from here ? \(and can I use AI to help with all of this ?\) And then, as we always highly encourage participation to embed what we learnt, we'll give the method a go ourselves with Darryl's expert guidance. **Meet your Speaker - Darryl Wright, Value Delivery Advisor and Trainer at Organa** *The only constant in life is change.* Darryl comes from a strong commercial and delivery background borne from two decades of experience in traditional IT project and program management and running IT businesses. This led him on a journey to find more successful and humane ways of working, becoming an Enterprise Agile coach and trainer. He is now a passionate champion of changing the way the world works. His guiding vision is to assist organisations to become great places to work that have happy, effective staff who create brilliant products and services that their customers love.

Turn VIC's New Codes Into Better Yield!(JESSE ANT Arch.)+Townhouses(Xavier)
Turn VIC's New Codes Into Better Yield!(JESSE ANT Arch.)+Townhouses(Xavier)
**\*\*\*RSVP PROCESS - CRITICAL INFO\*\*\*** Please be aware, we don't use the Meetup website to take RSVPs, so you will need to register on this link to lock in your place (bookings essential) - [https://propdev.info/uMKh](https://propdev.info/uMKh) We run events most weekends around Australia so you can attend either physically in your local area, or live-stream to any event around the country. **In-Person:** 1:30pm (Melbourne time) to 'Mingle With The Expert' **Virtual:** 2pm (Melbourne time) **INTRODUCING THE INDUSTRY EXPERT:** *Turn Victoria’s New Codes Into Better Yield! JESSE ANT Architects (𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘓𝘢𝘶 & Jessica Wang)* Are You Missing Out on Victoria’s New Untapped Development Potential? Victoria quietly rewrote the rulebook for multi-unit developments, and most mum-and-dad developers haven’t caught on yet. New planning codes. Clearer standards. Faster pathways. Less discretion. Less guesswork. More certainty. And here’s the kicker If you’re still designing projects the old way, you could be leaving yield, time and profit on the table without even realising it. That’s why this month’s Industry Expert, **Jessica Wang** from **JESSE ANT Architects**, is a must-see. Jessica is working daily with the new Victorian Townhouse & Low-Rise Code, the changes that are unlocking approvals for duplexes, townhouses and low-rise multi-unit projects that previously would’ve struggled. At this session, Jessica will show you: • How the new deemed-to-comply standards can actually work in your favour • Where extra yield and smarter layouts are now possible under the updated rules • How to design multi-unit projects that councils must approve if you hit the benchmarks • What savvy developers are doing right now to turn planning reform into real opportunity This isn’t about fighting council. It’s about understanding the new rules and using them to your advantage. If you’re developing (or planning to develop) in Victoria, this session could completely change how you look at your next site. Because the opportunity is there. The question is… are you set up to take advantage of it? **INTRODUCING THE REAL DEAL:** *3 Townhouses (Xavier Rigney)* *820m2,GRZ, Bendigo, Victoria* Turning Challenges into Multi-Unit Success You’ve found a promising development site. Numbers look good. The dream of building townhouses or duplexes seems achievable. Then reality hits. Permits drag. Engineering submissions take months. Banks and utilities slow the process. And suddenly, what should have been a smooth journey becomes a minefield of delays, extra costs, and last-minute hurdles. This is exactly the type of challenge **Xavier Rigney** faced on his latest multi-unit development and he’s coming to the next Property Developer Network Meetup to share the inside story. From keeping the existing dwelling tenanted throughout construction to navigating stormwater setbacks, Section 173 Agreements, and even last-minute easement oversights, Xavier’s project had it all. There were lessons in timing, sequencing, negotiation, and patience. Yes, a few expensive “oops” moments along the way. But here’s the good news: despite every obstacle, the project succeeded, showing exactly how mum-and-dad developers can turn complex hurdles into profitable outcomes. At this session, Xavier will reveal: • How to generate income during construction by keeping existing dwellings tenanted • The importance of early engineering coordination to avoid costly delays • How to manage banks, utilities, and councils when timing isn’t on your side • Real-life lessons from subdivision, civil works, and construction, and how to prevent the mistakes he made If you’re developing or planning a multi-unit project in Victoria, this session will give you the practical insight, hard-earned strategies, and confidence to avoid the pitfalls that derail so many deals. Because in property development, it’s not about luck. It’s about knowing the process, navigating the hurdles, and getting the job done right on time and on budget. ***This is your chance to talk property with other enthusiasts!*** See you all soon!

Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that. We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders…
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords…
IMPORTANT:
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
Quarterly Goals Reset for Product Professionals
Quarterly Goals Reset for Product Professionals
One of the most valuable parts of this community is the opportunity to think out loud with other product professionals. This session is built for exactly that. As we wrap up the quarter, it’s a great time to pause and reflect. What’s on track? What needs adjustment? Where could a small shift create bigger impact? Join fellow product professionals for a focused, interactive conversation designed to help you recalibrate for the next quarter. You’ll have the opportunity to share where you are, hear how others are thinking through similar challenges, and gain fresh perspective you can bring back to your team and organization. We’ll gather at 8:00AM, with discussion starting promptly at 8:15AM. 📍 First Watch - 7227 N High St Located in: The Shops at Worthington Ample parking is available. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Start your morning with clarity and connection — we hope to see you there! ☀️
