CLOTHES MAKING & ALTERING WORKSHOP
**Bookable via our website ➡️** [https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/clothes-making-altering-workshop-6-mornings-5/](https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/clothes-making-altering-workshop-6-mornings-5/)
**⋆⋆⋆**
Do you want to jump into making your own clothes but have never used a pattern? Do you wish to copy a beloved piece of clothing? Would you like to learn how to adjust your own pattern to fit just you?
Learn how to take body measurements, read and alter a commercial pattern to fit, lay out and cut fabric and construct a finished garment to a high standard using one of our Janome 525s or Bernina 1008 series sewing machines.
During the sessions of this small group of learners you will gain confidence and improve any sewing skills you already have.
If you have never used a machine, we can guide you through making a simple garment from a purchased pattern. Bring your own pattern or use one of our small selection.
If you have sewing experience but want to start creating your own patterns, you can learn how to create a bespoke piece of clothing. You can also bring a piece of clothing to alter or fix.
We supply the basics and the calico you will use to make a ‘toile’ (an inexpensive mock up) to save you ruining your chosen final fabric.
Along the way, talented tutor and seamstress will teach you lots of techniques and tips to ramp up your sewing passion. This is a perfect class if you have been teaching yourself so far, or if your last project was made a long time ago at school.
**Suitable for:** Suitable for beginners, enjoyable for those with experience. A good level of English and basic math skills are useful.
**Next start date:** Check our website for more dates: [https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/clothes-making-altering/](https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/clothes-making-altering/)

This is a special **Community Stack ecosystem event**, bringing together several of our cloud, platform, and data-focused communities for an evening of practical talks, senior technical discussion, and cross-community networking.
A huge thank you to **[Arrows](https://www.arrowsgroup.com/)** for hosting and sponsoring this event, and for supporting the growth of the cloud, platform engineering, data, and AI community in London.

In this session, Ryan Cormack and Luke Marrai from Motorway will explore how they are enhancing the functionality of Motorway’s platform to provide more accurate search results for dealers looking to acquire stock through the online marketplace.
The talk will cover how Motorway is using **AWS AgentCore** to run its agentic systems, and how evals are being used to ensure the system performs as expected.
Ryan Cormack is a Principal Engineer at Motorway, the UK’s leading used car marketplace, where he leads technical strategy and drives AI-powered transformation across the engineering organisation. The Cuddle Exchange
Heart-centred, kind and respectful touch blesses both the receiver and giver. The nervous system relaxes, the breath deepens, the heart rate slows and we feel connected, calm and quiet.
Many of us can feel deprived of physical contact and touch and yet it is so vital to our wellbeing and happiness. Even if we have a lot of sex, a sensual element to it can be missing; that sweetness of just being held.
In this clothed workshop, we will work together to create a safe space that meets people’s varying need for physical contact with others. No experience necessary. Please book your place in advance.
The session will involve movement, mindful awareness, shared touch and massage and partner and small group exercises. You will remain clothed and each person will get to determine their own boundaries and preferences during the workshop.
Join us and inhabit your body more fully, relaxing into it with deeper compassion, appreciation and contentment.
ANDY is a Tantra Yoga teacher and somatic therapist and has been facilitating spaces for gay, bi and queer men to connect from the heart for 11 years. He holds classes and private sessions in London and Brighton and runs several wellbeing retreats for men during the year.

"Words are inadequate to express the uniquely nurturing experience I had during your Aerial Relaxation Pod class... and the music was amazing! The feeling of being securely wrapped in a silk hammock from head to toe, suspended in the air, slowly rocking, with the crystal bowls and ambient music created a sublime and profound atmosphere. It was as if I was in a cocoon of total support, allowing peace to flow into my entire being." - Alison

All about Eve (+ intro)

* Screen: NFT 1
When Margo (Bette Davis), an aging Broadway star, meets Eve (Anne Baxter), a young fan with a tragic background, she offers her a job. Eve takes the position and much more when she inserts herself into Margo’s life. Marilyn Monroe features as another aspiring actress trying to get ahead and although she only graces two scenes, she pulls focus and makes them count – radiating her character’s ambition and superficiality.
We will meet up at about 17:50 near the box office, and we (those who don't have to rush off) will go for a drink or snack afterwards at the venue.
I will probably book my seat about a week in advance.

L Community Nights – Pre-Pride Summer Launch | 50+ Spots Gone
Launching on Friday 3rd July on the South Bank, the night before London Pride, it's a chance to meet new people before the weekend gets going.
**This is the launch event**
L Community Nights is our new monthly social for lesbian and bisexual women in London. This will be the first one.
We're taking over a dedicated area inside the Hall at the Big Belly. It's a fantastic venue with a great atmosphere and we'll have a dedicated area to ourselves for the evening.
**Tickets**
£12 early bird. £15 standard. Advance booking only.
Only 7 spots left.
Book your place: [thelcommunity.com/nights](https://thelcommunity.com/nights)
**You won't be standing around on your own**
Most women come on their own. There'll be hosts on the night who introduce people and keep things moving, so you won't be left wondering what to do.
We expect around 50 women to attend.
Women in our community range from their 20s to their 60s. A lot of them tell us they were nervous before their first one. You can arrive, get a drink, settle in, and just see how you feel.
**Important**
This is a female-only space for lesbian and bisexual women. That's the whole point of it and that boundary is upheld at every event. If that's not for you, this won't be the right night.
**Finding us**
The reservation is under the name Jenny. If you can't find us or feel unsure walking in, message on WhatsApp on +44 7591 386019 and someone will come out to meet you.
**Staying connected**
L Community is a free platform for lesbian and bisexual women, with a community timeline, member profiles, and a directory for housemates, services, and local recommendations.
Once you join the app, you can post on the community timeline to let others know you're coming to the event and introduce yourself before the night.
