Bray Head Photowalk
We’ll explore the dramatic coastal trails and panoramic viewpoints of Bray Head, one of the most visually rewarding walks near Dublin. From woodland paths and rugged cliff edges to expansive sea views and the iconic summit cross, this walk offers endless opportunities to work with light, texture, scale, and storytelling.
The goal is simple: slow down, observe carefully, and shoot with intention.
Along the route, we’ll experiment with composition, exposure, timing, landscape framing, candid moments, and using natural light in constantly changing outdoor conditions.
***

***
### **About the walk**
The Bray Head Loop is one of Wicklow’s most scenic coastal walks, offering spectacular views across Bray, Dublin Bay, the Irish Sea, and the Wicklow Mountains.
The route combines woodland trails, dirt paths, rocky sections, and open cliffside viewpoints. The climb to the summit cross is relatively short but steep in places, with some uneven terrain and light scrambling near the top.
On a clear day, visibility stretches for miles, making this an excellent location for landscape photography and learning how to work with depth, scale, and changing natural light.

***[Get your Tickets](https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/date-my-mate-powerpoint-night-30-45-years-tickets-1986993626425)***
Or maybe… that mate is *you*?
Welcome to **Date My Mate**, a two-hour event where confidence is optional and friendship is mandatory. Instead of awkward small talk, we’re handing you the clicker.
Participants will have **three and a half minutes** to present a powerpoint pitching their friend to a room full of potential suiters. Think: green flags, red flags, fun facts, embarrassing photos (used lovingly), and why this person is an absolute catch.
**How it works:**
* Purchase a ticket to attend the event
* You’ll receive a confirmation email with a google form to nominate yourself or a friend to present
* We will let you know if you have been picked to present or not (sorry, we are limited on time, we can't give everybody the time!)
* If choosen to present, you’ll get **three and a half glorious minutes** to sell the dream
* There will be a prize for the best presentation
No pressure. No swiping. Just slides, laughs, and maybe… love.
Ready to pitch perfection? 💘📈
Come alone to meet somebody new, or bring a friend!
**I have my presentatin ready!**
Unfortunetly not everybody will be able to present. We have a time limit of 3 and a half minutes for each person so we will do our best to include everybody, but YOU NEED TO APPLY! Once you purchase your ticket there is an application form, you must apply to present!
**What should my presentation include?**
Show off your friend in the best light possible. Some pictures, their hobbies, what they think is the perfect date. Maybe even some of their unusal habits. Keep it fun and lighthearted and love will follow...!
**Can I come alone?**
Absolutely! Come alone and meet the love of your life or bring a friend to help them meet theirs.
**Do I have to pitch?**
Nope, not everybody needs to pitch somebody. We will be selecting a few people to pitch their friends and everybody else can enjoy the presentations!
**My friend can't make it, can I still pitch them?**
We want everybody that is being pitched to attend the event so that they can meet their potential suiters on the night, so yes they must be in attendance.
**Does everybody need a ticket?**
Yes, everybody that plans to come needs a ticket, whether presenting, being presented or just a spectator.
**What is the age range?**
This particular event is for those aged 30 to 45 years.
Building Confidence: Dance Workshop for Women
Join us on Saturday mornings for a self-awareness experience through dance, designed to help you feel free, confident, sensual, light, and fully alive. 💃🏽✨
We are currently learning a **heels dance** choreography (Orion's Belt by Sabrina Claudio), where we focus on confident walk, **sexy moves** in a way that feels **safe**, **comfortable**, and **authentic**.
This is happening in a lovely dance studio, filled with incredible females. We often stay for lunch together at a café of our choice, because community is part of the experience. This weekend we might go to Howth Festival after the class if the crew get's excited about it.
In the sessions, we usually explore:
• Grounded hip movement and natural body isolation
• Combinations focused on flow and expression
• Musicality and rhythm connection
• Confidence through dynamic footwork
• Your authentic, inner energy. This will arise naturally as you move without holding back
This class is open to **all levels**. Most students have no or little experience with dance. Choreographies are just a means of self-expression. Whether you already dance or you simply want to feel your body again, this space is for you.
Expect warmth, laughter, a little challenge and a lot of energy. Let’s move, sweat and awaken our vital force together ❤️🔥

reviving gardans, Growing community
**Hands in the Soil: Community Growing, Learning & Craic**
This first gathering will be a relaxed mix of **hands-on garden work, shared learning, and good conversation**. It’s about getting together in a real space, doing something practical, and seeing what ideas and connections might grow from there.
On the day, we’ll:
* Get our **hands dirty** with some light garden work and soil prep
* Do some **seed sowing** and talk about what grows well locally
* **Make kombucha together** and chat about fermentation, food, and simple home practices
* Share knowledge, questions, and experiences around growing food
* Enjoy some **fellowship, chats, and a bit of craic** along the way.Alongside the practical side, we’ll also have an open, informal discussion about a bigger idea:
* The possibility of **small community “park farms” or gardens** in underused green spaces around Dublin
* What that might look like, what’s realistic, and whether others feel drawn to exploring it further
There’s no pressure, no expertise required, and no expectation beyond showing up with curiosity and a willingness to pitch in. Whether you’re experienced with gardening or completely new, you’re very welcome.
Bring clothes you don’t mind getting muddy, and if you have them, gloves. Everything else will be very low-key.
This is just a **first step** — a chance to meet, work, talk, and see if there’s a shared appetite to keep growing something together.

Feel Good Friday: POWER BALLAD at the Gateway Film Center + SHAKE NO. 8!
Join us as we get together to see Paul Rudd in the latest comedy-drama-musical from John Carney, POWER BALLAD! The film follows a washed-up wedding singer, a fading boy band singer and a stolen hit song. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: Rick, a washed-up wedding singer, and Danny, a fading boy band star, bond over music and a late-night jam session. When Danny turns Rick's song into a hit, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves. Power Ballad is written/directed by John Carney, the master of the modern musical and creative mind behind Once, Begin Again and Sing Street! It stars Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu and Jack Reynor.
BUZZ & ACCLAIM: The film premiered to rave reviews at this year’s Dublin International Film Festival where critics call it “a sure-fired crowd-pleaser” that “just might be the feel-good hit of the year!” Others say, “Paul Rudd delivers a career-best performance in this charmer” that’s both “hilarious and deeply moving!”
SUMMER OF ICE CREAM, VOL 2: SHAKE NO. 8! Ranked the #1 Ice Cream Shop in Columbus in 2024, this is the perfect place to kick off our Summer of Ice Cream and grab a sweet treat after the show! Their menu features an array of traditional, specialty and vegan shakes, hot cocoa, and more! You can check out their full menu here: [https://www.shakeno8.com/menu.php](https://www.shakeno8.com/menu.php)

Once you have yours, please list your seat number in the Comments section of this event. We'll head to nearby Shake No. 8 immediately following the show!

Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that.
We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders…
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords…
IMPORTANT:
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
