**Formulario acceso oficinas:** [https://forms.gle/MU5nEwqjGBCoPPfo6](https://forms.gle/MU5nEwqjGBCoPPfo6)
**2) Slides as Code: tu presentación también compila:**
Cloud Native Barcelona OpenTelemetry #2
This is the second of a series of meetups dedicated to exploring the exciting world of **[OpenTelemetry](https://opentelemetry.io/)** within the cloud-native ecosystem. Whether you're just curious about observability or already a seasoned OpenTelemetry user, this series will offer valuable insights, practical knowledge, and opportunities to connect with fellow enthusiasts in the Barcelona cloud-native community.
**Location**

** Here's a sneak peek of the agenda:**
**18:30:** Check-in and welcome
**18:45:** ️ "**The 44% Price I Paid for Observability**" by **[Adrián Pastén](https://www.linkedin.com/in/adrian-pasten/)**, Software Engineer at [ApiumHub](https://www.linkedin.com/company/apium_hub/)**.**
I added OpenTelemetry to find performance bottlenecks in my Kubernetes PHP application. Instead, OTEL became the bottleneck - consuming 44% of my system capacity and dropping throughput from 2,519 to 1,400 requests per second. Through live metrics and real production scenarios, I'll share what auto-instrumentation actually costs, when observability tools become performance killers, and practical strategies for getting the insights you need without destroying the speed you fought for.
**19:15:** ️ **"Efficient Tail Sampling at Glovo"** by **[Dani Medina](https://www.linkedin.com/in/dani-medina-3084b878/)**, Principal Software Engineer at [Glovo](https://about.glovoapp.com/)
In this insightful talk, Dani delves into how Glovo has implemented a tailored tail sampling strategy to achieve two critical objectives: keeping operational costs under control and empowering developers to identify error traces effectively.
**19:45 - 20:30:** Networking, Snacks, and Drinks
We appreciate **[Glovo](https://about.glovoapp.com/)**'s generosity in hosting us at their Barcelona office and providing snacks & refreshments. Thank you so much

CLASE DE TEATRO INICIACION. GRUPO A

Speaker: [Anemari Fiser](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ACoAAAsj0FIBwsd5kRTr2_wWLQKe-vFNZDCtNlE)\, O’Reilly Author \| Engineering Leader
After training and coaching more than 400 tech leads across companies and industries, one pattern keeps repeating: when tech leads struggle, it’s rarely a technical gap.
In this talk, Anemari Fiser shares the most common challenges tech leads bring into coaching sessions - overload, unclear expectations, ownership confusion - and assumed alignment, and why “getting better technically” almost never fixes them.
Drawing from real coaching and training examples, the talk explores where tech leads get stuck, what they think the problem is, and the small but meaningful shifts that help them move forward.

**Speaker 1: [Alvaro Moya](https://www.linkedin.com/in/alvarormoya/) \- Spec Driven Development with AI**
AI can generate large amounts of code, but without clear specifications it still produces fragile and inconsistent results, and the real difference between fast output and reliable features lies in how the problem is defined. This talk introduces Spec-Driven Development with AI, a new paradigm that accelerates the whole development workflow, from vague ideas to production-ready code, all while increasing quality.
**Speaker 2: [Nick Zervoudis](https://www.linkedin.com/in/nzervoudis/) \- Building a Personal OS That Thinks the Way I Do**
Nick is building a personal operating system using Claude Code, Wispr Flow, and Obsidian - processing all his voice notes, meeting transcripts, articles, and ideas to scale his consultancy. It all runs under a single repo built off plain markdown files.

The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge.
**Abstract**
*Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit: From Intent to Implementation*
Spec-driven development flips the traditional workflow on its head: instead of code being the source of truth, the specification becomes the backbone of design, collaboration, and delivery. In this session, we’ll explore how GitHub Spec-Kit enables teams to treat specifications as first-class artifacts—living documents that drive architecture, implementation, and verification.
You’ll learn how Spec-Kit helps teams clearly express intent using structured, version-controlled specs that live alongside code. We’ll walk through a practical workflow that starts with defining system behavior and constraints, then progressively refines those specs into testable, automatable outcomes. Along the way, we’ll show how specs can reduce ambiguity, improve cross-functional collaboration, and make design decisions explicit before a single line of production code is written.
This talk will cover:
--What spec-driven development is (and what it isn’t)
--How GitHub Spec-Kit fits into modern developer workflows
--Using specs to align product, engineering, and AI-assisted development
--Real-world examples of turning specs into implementations with confidence
Whether you’re building greenfield systems, integrating AI into your stack, or trying to reduce costly rework, spec-driven development offers a scalable way to move faster without sacrificing clarity. Attendees will leave with concrete patterns and a clear mental model for adopting GitHub Spec-Kit in their own projects.
