This is the same place where we got together every Thursday evening for many years before 2015. Everyone is welcome, but please keep conversation in Russian only. For many of us, this is our only chance to practice our Russian. There are happy hour prices available. Timing: Someone is usually there by 5:30, but it sometimes takes the organizers till 5:45 or so. If you get there first, please wait - we will be there! And people are usually there till at least 8. So if you can't make it right at the beginning, that is perfectly fine to arrive late! RSVP's: I encourage you to RSVP. But please know that many people don't RSVP. So it may seem like only 3 people are planning to attend, but have no fear, we usually have a good-sized fun group! (And we almost always have newcomers. So if you are planning on coming for the first time, you most likely won't be the only one.) Also, when the weather is nice we are frequently sitting outdoors. So if nobody is on the second floor, just look for the group speaking Russian at tables out on the street. And to say again - we have often had only 3 or 4 people RSVP but have 15 or so show up. Come volunteer with us refurbishing donated bicycles so that they can be used again by the community! This event is open to new volunteers and existing volunteers. No mechanical experience is necessary. Note: The warehouse location is in the alley behind 1502 Mt Vernon Ave. Enter through the gray door next to a roll-down garage door. If you drive to the location, be sure to park in the street, not in the alleys or parking lots surrounding the warehouse. And wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty with bicycle grease! Volunteers under 18 need a parent or guardian to accompany them to their first volunteer experience and sign a liability waiver. Volunteers under 16 need a parent or guardian to accompany them at all times while volunteering with Vélocity.

Let's take a walk along the Tidal Basin to see the Cherry Blossoms! We will then continue up the Rock Creek trail along the Potomac to Georgetown/Foggy Bottom! Route: * Start at the Smithsonian Metro Station * Walk towards the Washington Monument and then we will be moving clockwise around the Tidal Basin (stopping a few times to take some quick photos with the cherry blossoms) * Then towards Jefferson, FDR, and Martin Luther King Monuments, and the Japanese Lantern * We will then walk north to the Mall, walk around the Lincoln Memorial, and then towards the Rock Creek Trail * Head North along the Rock Creek Trail along the Potomac and pass by the Kennedy Center, towards Pennsylvania Ave * At Penn. A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 3rd- through 4th-level characters, playable in 2-3 hours. A group of gnomes fleeing harsher restrictions in Brastlewark, one of the largest gnome settlements as well as one nominally ruled by a Thrune sympathizer, has brought terrible news--the self-proclaimed ruler of Brastlewark, King Drum Thornfiddle has been using Hellknight enforcers to crack down on the gnome citizens, as well as forcing many to use their primals magics to mix with diabolical ones in the creation of weapons of war, such as the Jaws of Hell, which saw use in the Battle of Hellknight Hill. The Andoran Army has pushed far enough into Cheliax that destruction of these facilities and liberation of the gnomes is now possilbe, but they can't do both. It's up to you and your fellow Pathfinders to see that the gnomes are safe, and that they can know true freedom, away from the tyrrany of Cheliax and House Thrune. *Location Change * Since Freedom Plaza is under construction, we will meet at the plaza in front of The International Trade Center near the National Children's Museum (on Pennsylvania Ave). We'll begin with going over a few drills (varies week to week). The skills we drill will be for the first 30 minutes. For the second half, we will casually skate down the bike lanes on Pennsylvania Avenue from the plaza to the U.S.Capitol and stop at 3rd St. and then skate back the same route. This route is about 2 miles in total and is perfect for those who are new to skating in the city but feel comfortable on skates in a parking lot or roller rink. This is also great if you wish to start with shorter routes to increase your physical fitness or stamina for some of the other routes. This is an excellent opportunity to prepare to skate with others on the road. You will also get to meet skaters who will arrive for the Intermediate and Advanced skate routes following the introductory skate. This is great training to feel prepared for the Tuesday Night and Friday Night Skate! This is a unique event. More than 20 embassies from countries that have French speakers will have booths with incredible home-made food and interesting wines and beer. The catch is that it's always packed, but there is always plenty of food. So if you like to sample all kinds of foods, enjoy dancing, and don't mind the crowds and the splurge (around $60 including food, and drinks for the first two hours), it is a yummy, fun-filled party with a distinct French accent! The annual month-long Francophonie Cultural Festival spotlights the music, art, literature, film, cuisine, and customs of French-speaking countries and regions from across the globe. One of the celebration’s highlights, La Grande Fête is always *magnifique*, and this year’s bash is no exception. The don’t-miss event is your passport for a world tour of francophone cultures. Starting at 7 p.m., sample food and drink from more than 20 embassies as you explore each nation’s unique attractions and traditions. We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM. It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. It's happening again! **WHAT:** Free Improv Drop-in. No experience needed / beginner friendly!
