Die *Women in Data Science (WiDS)* ist eine Initiative der Stanford University und seit 2015 eine globale Plattform mit regionalen Konferenzen auf der ganzen Welt. Die WiDS Dornbirn ist eine davon. Ziel ist es, Frauen in diesem Zukunftsfeld sichtbar zu machen und zu stärken. Die Vorträge werden daher ausschließlich von Frauen gehalten – die Konferenz ist jedoch bewusst offen für Teilnehmende aller Geschlechter und versteht sich **nicht als reines Frauennetzwerk**, **sondern als vielfältige Fachplattform rund um Datenanalytik**. Unser Ziel ist ein ausgewogenes Verhältnis von 50:50 bei den Teilnehmenden. In Obstalden besichtigen wir die sehenswerte Kirche aus dem 15. Jahrhundert und stehen plötzlich vor dem Grab der einzigen Schweizer Prinzessin. Weiter geht es - immer mit grossartigem Rundblick über den türkisfarbenen Walensee – durch ein Felsloch (aufrecht) und über eine Hängebrücke, langsam abwärts Richtung Murg, dem Endziel unserer Wanderung.
