Nacido en el Japón de posguerra, el Butoh desarrolló una forma radical de presencia escénica capaz de explorar territorios normalmente invisibles: la transformación, la vulnerabilidad, la memoria, el instinto y lo desconocido. A través de imágenes, improvisación guiada y prácticas somáticas, los participantes serán invitados a abandonar patrones habituales de movimiento para descubrir nuevas formas de percepción, presencia y expresión. Born in post-war Japan, Butoh developed a radical form of stage presence capable of exploring territories that often remain invisible: transformation, vulnerability, memory, instinct, and the unknown. Through imagery, guided improvisation, and somatic practices, participants are invited to step beyond habitual movement patterns and discover new possibilities of perception, presence, and expression. Join us every other Sunday for the Open Clown Workshop at The Comedy Clubhouse Barcelona. Whether you’re an experienced clown wanting to exercise your clowning muscles or a complete beginner full of curiosity this workshop is for you. Sessions will usually focus on one particular aspect of clown for example: bafflement, befriending uncertainty, staying curious, freedom in failure, connecting with your pleasure, finding the game, eye contact with the audience. Our usual workshop teachers are experienced clowns who perform regularly in Barcelona and around the world. They have either trained with the legendary clown master Philipe Gaulier; performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival; organised their own cabaret shows; or have experience of developing clown numbers elsewhere. While every teacher has different strengths and exercises they’ll share, each workshop is designed to inspire you and help develop your skills as a comedic performer. This is a great place to meet new people, play games, have fun & learn new skills! The session lasts from 15.00 until 17:30 and it operates as a Pay What You Want workshop (suggested donation between 5 and 15 euros). It takes place at the Comedy Clubhouse on Via Laietana (be careful because there are two Comedy Clubhouses! It does not take place at the one on Carrer Canvis Nous!)
