Have you ever wanted to act in a short film? Or direct and produce your own? This production meeting marks the beginning of our new 2-month filmmaking challenge. Whether you are completely new to filmmaking or already experienced, this is the moment where projects are born, teams are formed, and ideas begin their journey from the page to the screen. You now two months to develop, shoot and deliver your film with the support of the community. Level 1 classes focus on the fundamentals, and are suitable for everyone. There will be no sparring. These classes are perfect for anyone looking to grasp a general understanding of “ground fighting” while discovering Submission Grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. BJJ focuses on using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the opponent. Since Brazilian JiuJitsu focuses on submissions without the use of striking, BJJ is for everyone of all ages and abilities! Training BJJ allows you to focus on learning the many different positions, techniques, and skills required to become successful in this extremely popular martial art. In the Gi classes, participants are required to wear the traditional BJJ uniform called a “Gi”. Techniques in this class are taught in the traditional methods of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, in which the use of a gi is necessary. It is often agreed upon by the highest ranking grapplers and BJJ practitioners in the world that practicing BJJ while using the Gi is an essential part of becoming an elite level grappler. While practicing BJJ while using the gi, the student can then achieve a “belt ranking”.
