Full practice including:
\- Relaxation
\- Stretching
\- Basic Taiji techniques
\- Laojia Yi Lu Form
\- Martial Applications
Bring comfortable clothes and water (or tea).
Don't worry if you arrive late, just join us silently to not interrupt the other practitioners.
“Listening Within” - an Art Therapy workshop
**“A creative space to connect with your body.”**
In the rush of everyday life, it can be easy to forget to slow down and listen to what is happening within.
Yet this is often where a deeper kind of wisdom can be found. The body is constantly communicating with us - if we give ourselves the space to notice and listen.
This workshop offers just that: a gentle space to reconnect and explore what your body might be asking for.
Join us for a creative journey where we will settle the nervous system through sensorial, tactile exercises that bring you into contact with your body. Laura will then guide you through an inner listening process, allowing your own sensations, images, and insights to emerge.
Everyone is welcome. You don’t need any previous artistic experience - just a bit of curiosity.
**Price: 15 euros per person**
**Please book via the following link:** [https://luma.com/4rrgaipu](https://luma.com/4rrgaipu)

Laura is a second year art-therapy student. She previously trained and worked as a puppeteer for her theatre company, Théâtre de l'Heure Bleue, and continues to work as a visual artist.

Somatic Movement in Nature
**Somatic Movement** is a powerful method based on principles and wisdom from Eastern movement practices, such as yoga and Tai Chi, as well as Western techniques and insights from neuroscience, trauma therapy, and burnout recovery.
The goal is to activate your body and brain by allowing energy to flow through your system without overloading the nervous system. This is achieved through gentle, intentional movements, stretches and exercises, but also by increasing awareness and sensory perception — both internally (within ourselves) and externally (of our surroundings).
Combining tension-releasing stretches, easy flow-restoring exercises (using trees, branches, logs, stones, hills...), doing silent or touch meditations and playful authentic relating games, we're able to release a lot of stored tension and start to feel free, open-hearted, unassuming and adventurous again.
The 2h-sessions focus on gradually increasing physical resilience, but include emotional and energetic aspects as well to restore balance in body, mind and spirit. There is no competitive stake, there are no extremes or high-intensity actions involved. But we do sometimes challenge our personal comfort zones a bit, sliding in and out, bumping into some limiting belief or conviction we might carry within. We learn by looking at things from different perspectives.
The sessions are guided by seasoned therapist Ken.
For more info on his practices, please visit: www.nieuwegrond.be
**PRACTICAL**
This is a free introduction session for you.
But since this is a professional practice, where paying people might participate as well, we can only offer this once. If you wish to continue afterwards, you can talk to Ken personally or book through his website mentioned above.
The session starts at 10h sharp and ends at 12h.
Meeting and end-point is always Parking Forest Playground Everzwijnbad, Weertsedreef 16, Oud-Heverlee at the border of Meerdaelwoud. Please read the location description well, Google Maps can be a bit tricky.
Since we're in the forest and will connect with trees, branches, soil etc, please make sure your clothes can handle this. If you wish, you can bring some water and small towel for comfort, but it's not a must. Please be aware that the organizer can not be held responsible for any damage or losses you might suffer. A safe environment is a priority for everyone.
The event will be cancelled only when the weather really doesn't allow it.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask via personal message.
We hope to see and connect with you there!
Ken

Mental Fitness Walk — coffee & conversation at Bois de la Cambre 🌳☕️👟
We spend so much of the week keeping up. With work, with people, with the version of ourselves we're supposed to be. Saturday morning can be different. 🌿
Come and join for an honest conversation and a mindful walk with people who also get it. No pressure to share anything you're not ready to share. You can talk as much or as little as you like; sometimes, just being outside in nature with good people is enough.
*This is the first in a series of regular walks for the [Mental Fitness Collective](https://www.meetup.com/mental-fitness-collective/) — a simple, free morning to step outside, move at a gentle pace, and be around people who aren't performing either.*
**📍Meeting point:** Stella - Coffee Food Bakery (next to the tram stop Legrand), where you can buy a drink of your choice (optional).
🗓️ **Agenda:** We'll take a relaxed walk through Bois de la Cambre and a full loop around the lake, about 4-5 km, at a pace where conversation feels comfortable. We'll finish at the roundabout at the end of Av. Louise.
**Small housekeeping rule:** What happens in the group stays in the group. Whatever is shared between participants during our time together stays between us. It is to make sure this feels like a safe place to be honest.
I'll be there to welcome everyone. Come as you are. 🌿
Free to join, RSVP to save your spot!
*The event is weather-dependent.*
*This walk will run every other Saturday. Each one is standalone, so come whenever it works for you. Join our group, [Mental Fitness Collective](https://www.meetup.com/mental-fitness-collective/), and get notified of our events.*
Microdancing in Brussels: a dance event for small movements and big presence
### **What is microdancing?**
Microdancing is a dance form based on very small, subtle movements and an intimate, nuanced connection between partners. Instead of big steps or flashy moves, it focuses on tiny gestures, breath-sized shifts, and minimal body communication. This allows dancers to truly listen—to the music and to each other—creating a quiet yet deeply expressive shared experience.
### **Who is this event for?**
Microdancing is easy to pick up. Whether you’re completely new to dance or highly experienced in one or several styles, you’ll be able to find a partner and share a meaningful moment on the dance floor.
### **What will the event be like?**
We’ll start with open-level workshops that introduce useful tools and techniques for microdancing. These sessions are also a playful way to build connection, trust, and a shared dance language among participants.
The potluck will nourish both body and spirit, giving us time to relax and get to know one another.
In the evening, there will be space to freely practice and explore microdancing, with music by DJ Diana.

Tennis doubles (NOT FOR BEGINNERS) - Terdelt Schaerbeek
Hello! This is a meet-up to play tennis from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday. Meeting is on the courts. The courts are booked under the name Jean-Marc. This event is for intermediate and advanced players and not organised for novice players or beginners.
Please make sure to bring the exact sum of 10 € in cash.
The event is non-commercial. This sum covers the cost of the courts reserved. The organizer is not there to make money out of you. Ladies are encouraged to join.
If anyone wants to drop out, they should do it on Saturday morning, not on Sunday the day of the meetup, another wise it would be too late to find a replacement in time or to cancel a court in time with reimbursement. If you don't do this, you will be asked by the organizer to reimburse your participation fee. If this happens too late then those who have cancelled after Saturday morning will have to cover the extra cost for reserving the courts.
In the past meetups, it happened too many times that we were an oneven number and because of that all those present had less fun to play. If you don't show up without giving a written excuse in time, the first future participation will be cancelled and you will be asked to reimburse the participation fee. If it happens too many times you will not be able to participate anymore.
In case if we are an uneven number of players, then the last player (except the host of course who has to collect the money) can leave or persuade other players to play with him or her. Of course if the last player leaves, then he or she doesn't have to pay the participation fee. If this player leaves, he or she will be added on a future event by the host or organizer in the participation list if the player is far away in the waiting list. This is the advantage of leaving on a voluntary basis;-).
We operate on the principle of Fair Play as we do not have umpires or referees. Any disputes or disagreements over line calls or scores should be resolved immediately on the court and, when agreement is not possible, the point or game should be replayed. To be able to replay the game, 3 players need to agree on that without manipulation of the one who disputes an entire game, anotherwise injustice could occur where in the end possibly the biggest cheater could win... This situation applies also, if the host or the organizer is involved.
When one of the players still doesn't accept this compromise, then it should be reported (meetup message by preference) to the organizer or host of the meetup event.
One of the consequences could be that the first upcoming event could be cancelled by the organizer for the player who doesn't comply with the compromise to play the point or the game again. If the same player does that again for a second time, then the person will see 4 of his next tennis meetups cancelled. If this happens a third time with the same player, then the player in question will be banned from all future tennis meetups with an exclusion as a final result.
Whenever there is a big problem, it should be reported as well to the organizer of the group so he can, if necessary, take actions to improve the situation for all the players.
Please also note that if you are the first on the waiting list, you will automatically be moved up to the attendance list if someone pulls out. So if you are on the waiting list and see that you cannot attend, please also change your status to not going.
If you would like to organize a meet up either this week or next week please get in touch with me, my name is Jean-Marc. It will depend on your initiatives to create more tennis meetups per week.

Drunken Philosophy: What’s up with all the AI hate?
**Welcome to Drunken Philosophy** a casual, curious social discussion
**Optional topic for this meetup: What's up with all the AI hate?**
A recent survey found that 74% of Americans have a negative view of AI, and I want to know why. Come out and debate whether AI is good or bad.
My hot take: a labor-saving tool that could potentially help cure cancer gets called dangerous because it might raise unemployment or cause a speculative investment bubble, that tells you a lot more about capitalism and the economic system we live under than it does about the tool itself. As a computer programmer, I think AI is a wonderful tool that has increased my productivity by at least an order of magnitude. I'd go so far as to say Claude Code is the best tool I have ever used. Debate me and name a better one.
Is AI potentially dangerous? Yes, but so are a lot of tools. Chainsaws. Steam engines (early ones would occasionally explode and kill everyone in the room). Do you think cavemen sat around debating whether fire could be used as a weapon or for self-harm, and decided not to discover it?
I have two friends who hate AI for opposite reasons: one thinks it's a fad and not useful, and the other thinks it's going to take over everything and cause human extinction.
Come out tonight, have a friendly debate, and make some friends.
No lectures. Friendly crowd. Drop in for one drink and stay if it's fun.
