My community classes in High Park are by donation, for all bodies, and no experience is required. What is yoga? We combine breath, movement and awareness, all in the healing nature of High Park.

* Weather-appropriate clothing/ blanket for relaxation
We yoga rain or shine. There is shelter if we need it.

For a few days each year, Bloor-Yorkville transforms into something completely different — a curated, walkable floral experience right in the heart of the city.
Join us for Fleurs de Villes: FLORA, a one-of-a-kind event where local florists, designers, and businesses come together to “flower-bomb” the neighbourhood with stunning installations.
And here’s the bonus — we’re going earlier in the week, right during peak viewing time.
That means fresher displays, fewer crowds, and the best chance to experience everything at its fullest.
Expect to see over 30 creative floral displays popping up in unexpected places — from fashion-inspired mannequins to floral archways, window installations, and even edible creations along the way.
This is not a formal tour.
It’s a social walk — come explore, wander, and take it all in together.

We’ll meet at the Toronto Reference Library and begin our walk through the Bloor-Yorkville area, following the floral trail and discovering installations as we go.
There’s no rush — we’ll take our time, stop for photos, and enjoy the creativity of each display.
After the walk, we’ll head over to Jack Astor's for food, drinks, and a chance to hang out and connect. 🍔🍹

Survivalist Series: Introduction to Navigation

**Navigation isn’t a lost art - it’s a life-saving skill. Whether you’re exploring remote backcountry or just trying to orient yourself on a trail, knowing how to read the land can make all the difference.**
Join us for this *one-day navigation workshop,* which will equip you with the skills needed for safe and confident adventures.
**Interested in joining this year’s Epics? Completing this and other relevant courses will support your approval process for advanced adventures.**
**Morning: Theory**
We’ll start with hot beverages and a hands-on classroom session where you’ll learn:
* Why maps still matter in a GPS world
* How to read a topo map and visualize the land
* What contours tell you about your route (and your legs)
* How to orient yourself when you’re turned around
* Compass skills that could save your life
**Afternoon: Practice**
After a quick lunch, the real fun begins. With only a map, compass, and your brain, you’ll work in teams to complete a real-world navigation challenge. Each team gets a unique course and a grid reference sheet to plot and follow. Fastest (and most accurate) team earns top bragging rights as Wilderness Union’s best navigators.
You’ll build and follow a route card, learn to trust your instincts, and develop the kind of confidence that only comes with practice.
**Your Instructor:** Former Canadian Army Advanced Reconnaissance Instructor, Captain Buckingham is a decorated Pathfinder and the Canadian Infantry School’s top navigation instructor, he’ll guide you every step of the way.
**Who It’s For:** This course is for beginners and intermediate explorers alike. No military mindset required—just curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a love of getting outside. This is an amazing opportunity not only to learn from a world-class expert but it's a fun, practical lesson at a uniquely low price.

In-Person Writing Sprints
Struggling with motivation and focus as you hammer away on your manuscript at home? Want to join a community of writers as we embrace the joys and pains (mostly pains) of writing together?
Bring your laptop, pen & paper, old-school typewriter, or futuristic writing gadget, and join an enthusiastic community of science fiction and fantasy writers as we work on our current projects in the same space. The format will be similar to our online writing sprints: 30-minute blocks of focused, quiet writing time (the sprints), interspersed with breaks where we can chat, ask questions, and share our writing experiences.
Saturday Writing Meetup – near Bloor-Yonge
\*\*NOTE: This meetup currently lacks a regular host. (The current hosts are volunteers for online organizational purposes; they show up in person occasionally.) If you arrive and there is no host, don’t worry. Whoever is the longest-running member (or whoever wants to) can set the timer for the writing session. In this way, the meetup is self-sustaining, and not dependent on any one person. Thanks for your understanding.\*\*
Join us for an hour of quiet writing, followed by an hour of (optional) socializing.

Muskoka Rescue Dogs Hike

**Join us for a spectacular spring hike through the Muskoka wilderness alongside some very special rescue pups!**
We’ll meet our four-legged guides from a local rescue for a gentle 7 km journey along the winding Muskoka River. It is a rare chance to both get out of the city and give these dogs some well-deserved love & adventure.
The team from the rescue will join us to share stories about the dogs and the incredible work that goes into finding them forever homes. After the hike, we will offer plenty of head scratches before heading to a nearby waterfall for a peaceful lunch. It is the perfect setting to switch off and soak in the stillness of the woods.
This will be a relaxed three-hour walk on mostly flat terrain, accessible for various fitness levels.
*$10 from each registrant's adventure payment will be donated to the rescue to support them in their goal of finding good forever homes for dogs in need.*
**Please note that to keep the rescue dogs calm and focused, we do not allow personal pets.**

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros.
10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing.

Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible.

Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
