WOODWORK – SET OF STEPS
**Bookable via our website ➡️** [https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/woodwork-set-of-steps-8/](https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/woodwork-set-of-steps-8/)
⋆⋆⋆
This timeless classic is taken from our favourite 1910 vintage woodwork book. It is a brand new project for our Carpentry for Beginners courses.
Take home a fabulously useful set of steps, beautifully crafted with ‘Through tenons’ and ‘shoulder’ joints. Measurements are: 53cm H x 50cm W and 55cm D when open.
Using a mixture of traditional hand tools and modern drills and saws, experienced craftsman Len Conway will guide and inspire you as he teaches age-old techniques in carpentry. As you begin learning how to make traditional wood joints in seasoned redwood, you will learn how to use and care for chisels, saws, planes and marking gauges. Len is an experienced carpenter and teacher. He conveys his skilful practical experience with light-hearted humour.
Learners will work on a variety of exercises – designed to incorporate simple to advanced joints and tools that build confidence and independence.
Over 5 specified days, we will cover many aspects of traditional carpentry tuition. There will be lots of practical exercises in each session while making a small set of steps that you will take home.
**We will get familiar with some tools of the trade:**
* Introducing basic tools. Equipping a toolbox for home carpentry.
* Timber selection/marking out and cutting. Cutting accurately with a hand saw
* Using a plane, different types of planes. Sharpening tips and practice.
* Using a chisel and its uses. Sharpening tips and practice.
**You will use planes, chisels and marking tools:**
* Simple joints and why we use them.
* Half joints, lap joints. Practice using chisels and planes.
* Bridle joints and a mortise and tenon
**You will make a simple project to take home:**
It’s fast-paced but with the support of Len, you will complete your own project to make a small set of steps.
* Work from selected pine and measure, mark and cut pieces.
* Choose and make joints, assemble and secure with adhesive or screws.
* Sand and smooth to a stage where your project is ready for staining or waxing and taken home with pride.
All personal protection, the use of tools and basic materials are included.
**This course is suitable for beginners**
INTRO TO WOODWORK – BASIC WOOD JOINTS
**Bookable via our website ➡️** [https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/intro-to-woodwork-basic-wood-joints-74/](https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/intro-to-woodwork-basic-wood-joints-74/)
⋆⋆⋆
A beginner's course that goes straight to the heart of woodworking.
This five-week evening course will focus on timeless variations of wood joints that can be used for an endless amount of woodwork projects. Develop your skills with a saw, chisel and plane so that you can measure and mark out your work, cut, fit and glue joints accurately, ensuring your woodwork is strong, durable and darn good-looking.
Learn these classic wood joints while you hone your making ability, and set free your ideas for furniture, box-making and all things fabulous. During the course, you will learn the uses and advantages of each joint as you construct a framework of sample joints. This project is a classic learning method.
The **half-lap joint** can be used to make frames for pictures, perimeter door frames for panel or glass doors, dust dividers in cabinets and in many other situations. Because the half-lap does not add any thickness to the pieces of wood being joined, there are virtually no limitations for using it.
The **mitred half** lap is an elegant yet strong corner joint, with its diagonal cut constructed with an internal half lap,
The **tee halving** is a versatile joint which is often used in internal cabinet frames and simple framing and bracing.
The **half dovetail** is a very strong type of joint because of the way the ‘tails’ and ‘pins’ are shaped. This shape makes it difficult to pull the joint apart and virtually impossible when glue is added. This type of joint is used in box constructions such as draws, jewellery boxes, cabinets and other pieces of furniture where strength is required.
All use of tools and materials included.
Perfect for beginners.

Pitch.london is a curated speed-networking event for founders, operators and serious builders.
Short, structured conversations. Sharp prompts. Real chemistry, fast.
The hardest problem in early-stage entrepreneurship is finding the right people. Most events leave it to chance. We don’t.
The room is curated, the prompts are clear, and the format is built for high-signal encounters between people who are actually building something.
In one evening, you can meet more relevant people than you might in months of random networking.
Two formats. One room. Zero fluff.
**01\. Founder matchmaking pitches**
Sixty seconds to share who you are, what you’re building, and what would actually help right now.
Whatever you’re looking for, the room is built to help you find it: people to build with, people to hire or be hired by, advisors and investors, or honest feedback on what you’re shipping.
**02\. Group brainstorms**
Small, time-boxed groups tackle a real challenge brought into the room.
Bring a live problem you’re stuck on. Get five minds on it for ten minutes. Leave with new angles and next steps.

* A founder seeking a first hire
* An operator looking for a serious team to join
* A technical builder open to commercial partners
* A commercial builder open to technical partners

Uncapping Your Magic - Online & By Donation
“True magic is materialisation. For any other form of magic, it's a varying degree of illusion.”
This sacred Land Tantra field and ceremony is an opportunity to participate in sacred magical activism and ceremonial service to Mother Gaia. A joyful magical activism process of repairing the sacred nerve pathway of materialisation - after the Age of Illusion/Separation that we have collectively lived through.
This is a journey of clearing the passage of trust between the heart and the root, so that it is easier and simpler to live the magic of materialisation.
Together we will immerse in the destiny-coded vibrations that Iceland re-verberates with, so that we can root more deeply into the magnetic love of the Earth, as we learn to attune our inner system to love and potential.
We will receive daily channeled transmissions to help repair and restore the re-turn of the process of materialisation between the heart and the root chakras, so that on the 7/7 ceremony we can transmit this in the land, to assist Gaia in the system shift of moving from separation into illumination.
Your part of the ceremony can be transmitted from wherever you are in the world, whatever we give in ceremony to the land, the land gives back to us.
For that which we do in service, we do in symbiosis.
The Age of Illusion, the Age of Separation, caused this trust pathway within humanity to be severed and damaged. This is a light chamber, soul-coded vibration, nerve and inner passage repair. A sacred initiation of the electromagnetic pathway within the self, within the collective, and within the land, so that our hearts can materialise more easily, turning love into form, as life informs our hearts. This is the simplicity of electromagnetic plasticity.
Those called to be part of this field will receive sacred Land Tantra activations recorded from the powerful waterfalls, volcanoes, valleys and soul portals of Iceland. This repair happens through transmissions from the elements and the elementals that are masters of trusting and materialising.
The daily, channeled transmissions include healings, light chambers, energy mechanics, teachings, atonements and attunements to fully restore the materialisation nerve within the self, so that you can be a conduit for the collective correction that is happening on the 7th.
And most importantly, trust into your true magic of materialisation.
Here are the titles of the live sessions:
Attuning to the Community
The Nerve of Trust
Atonement
Destiny codes
Uncapping Our Magic Ceremony
This ceremony is overlighted by the Rainbow Grandmothers, supported by the Elementals and the Nature Goddess of Creation.
The sacred service work is by donation. Donate afterwards whatever feels right in your heart.
And please do strengthen this field by inviting Soul Star family to gather and co -create this beautiful and important Land Tantra ceremony.
So much love and true Magic to you all x

With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required. Yoga is a sanskrit term which means union.
All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most transformative energy of all is hiding in plain sight, within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable. It's called inner Kundalini energy. And everyone already has it — everyone!. It is often likened to an inner feminine or motherly energy which automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us restore balance and harmony within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, organically and cannot be paid for.
Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple time-honoured technique that lets you tap into that energy and harness its power to become better balanced and better connected to yourself — emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually and will take you into higher awerness.
It was started back in 1970's by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, who was the greatest living saint of out times. Now Sahaja Yoga is practised in more than 100 countries.
If you're having trouble juggling the challenges in your life, Sahaja Yoga Meditation might well help you manage stress, master your emotions and find solutions to your problems. You may enjoy better health, better focus, and a deeper understanding of the universe and your place in it.
Meditation is not just for mystics and monks. Sahaja Yoga meditation is for everyone. Anyone can do it. It's that easy. But with the Sahaja Yoga experience, you'll quickly realise, it isn't your typical Meditations 'R Us type class. It's much more than just feeling peaceful and relaxed. Sahaja Yoga Meditation has many layers, varied and deep. Explore at your own pace, in your own way. Our volunteer experts are always available to help.
Ready to plug into your inner energy? A Sahaja Yoga Meditation class is a great way to start. A few minutes of your life may be all it takes to connect to your inner energy and light the path to lifelong transformation. Sahaja Yoga is more than a temporary solution or quick relief — it is a journey, rather than a destination. It's all about energy — guaranteed pure and carbon neutral. You can never have too much of it.
The best part? All classes are free. No strings, no catch.
Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend, bring your self — all are welcome.
We have a web site here in London too which you can visit for more info about weekly meetings: www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk (http://www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk/)
