Saturday Afternoon Life Drawing & Painting LONG POSE
Saturday Afternoon Life Drawing & Painting LONG POSE
This is just a studio session, with no Zoom. We will have a life model in the same pose for three hours in the afternoon, usually for two consecutive weeks. This is an untutored session run by a professional painter who will always be happy to give advice. Other than model breaks, usually every 25 minutes, we break for tea and cake at 3.30pm for twenty minutes. Our studio is divided up into workstations or ‘positions’ and whilst each position has a good view of the model many artists prefer to be front and centre. (Actually, you often get a more interesting composition to the side of the room). You can also just turn up at the studio on spec and find a place to paint. Our studio has a light and friendly atmosphere. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced painter, come and paint with us! We have a wonderful community of artists who join us each week. Costs From £20 – £25 per session [More info and bookings here](https://www.dulwichartgroup.co.uk/product/saturday-morning-life-painting-drawing/)

INTRO TO WOODWORK – WOOD STOOL WEEKEND
**Bookable via our website ➡️** [https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/intro-to-woodwork-wood-stool-weekend-11/](https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/intro-to-woodwork-wood-stool-weekend-11/) ⋆⋆⋆ Suitable for absolute beginners. Enjoyable for everyone. One weekend workshop. 10am – 5pm. By popular demand – a content-packed two-day basic carpentry woodwork course spread over one weekend. Beginners will be given plenty of help and more experienced students may work at their own pace. Make your own pine wood stool and take it home with you to be admired by friends and family. This is a great starter workshop that introduces the skills of how to measure accurately, cut precisely, and join planks together using dowels. In addition to this, the legs- made from class broomsticks – are connected to the base using a ‘wedged through tenon’ which is a classic woodworking joint and produces a very strong and pleasing result. The tools used include handsaws, chisels, planes, and spokeshaves and you can even get a chance to try an old-fashioned ‘bit and brace’ drill if you choose. If you are contemplating our longer ‘[Carpentry for Beginners](http://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/beginners-carpentry/)’ course, this can be a great way to gain confidence. Beginners will be given plenty of help and more experienced students may work at their own pace. If your knowledge of woodwork is a feint but a fond memory of CDT or carpentry at school, you are in the right place. Our experienced tutor will guide a small group through the design and making of an elegant pine stool using traditional hand tools. The workshop focuses on jointing wood with dowels, using and caring for a plane and chisel, using spokeshaves, and drilling with an auger. Intrigued? Come and find out more. All personal protection and the use of tools and materials are included. This workshop takes place over one weekend: 10am – 5pm.
Sketchbook: Alexandra Palace
Sketchbook: Alexandra Palace
Let's sketch Alexandra Palace! Bit of a schlep to the outskirts of town this one but totally worth it for the views of the city and the utterly stunning venue that is Ally Pally! Meet outside the main entrance in the car park. Nearest Train Station: Alexandra Palace Completely free of charge, no need to sign up, bring a friend! Feel free to drop in for the whole two hours or just short while if you'd prefer. Look for the tall ginger fella sketching away as the central meetup spot, but feel free to roam as far and wide as you like and sketch anything you damn well please! Please bring your own sketchbooks and pens/pencils. The plan will be to meet at 1pm, sketch for a couple of hours and meet back and chat at 3pm. There is a lovely foyer in the middle where we can grab a coffee afterwards, hopefully the weather is good! \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- About Sketchbook London Every week we will choose a location around the magnificent city of London and draw people, buildings, pigeons, bins, anything you want.... No payment, no pressure, no need to sign up, just show up and draw for a couple of hours. All levels, abilities and professions welcome, bring a friend! Zero pressure to interact, network, impress in any way, this is just a way to get out and about and appreciate the joy of urban sketching and all the weird and wonderful creatures that inhabit this thriving metropolis. I am a storyboard artist working in animation and I am happy to discuss sketching techniques or give feedback on any work but this is by no means an exclusive event for artists, all are welcome :)

A pre-arranged person takes on the role of the Moon Goddess. 4-5 ladies of attendees may be asked to take on Goddess-support roles, circling the Goddess and using Goddess related chants to raise energy. This varies each time- and may involve 2-3 Rune chants (for protection, wealth, strength, love, Joy). We may do other spell working as well as some healing work * * **Feasting & social:** We finish the ceremony with communal blessing of all the food & drinks people brought, share some thoughts/ feed-back, then close circle and feast. * We ask all to help **Tidy up the space, t**ake any unopened food/ drinks home, and put rubbish in bins (on thames pavements). Women's Circle: Letting go & Trusting Life
Women's Circle: Letting go & Trusting Life
Ticket is needed in order to attend this event: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1987624107210?aff=oddtdtcreator ## Overview Are you longing for deeper connections with other women who are on a path of self-discovery and growth? Join us for a women's circle! Join us for a gentle and nurturing **Women’s Circle:** a sacred, heart-led space for women who want to go deeper. Every month, we gather to explore themes around **spirituality, feminine embodiment, self-discovery and personal growth**. Each circle centers around a unique topic: from **feminine energy, intuition, boundaries**, and **embodiment** to **self-worth, healing** or **emotional expression** but the intention remains the same: 💗 To create a space for authentic connection, inner reflection, and collective wisdom 💗 To be seen, heard and held without judgment or pressure to be anything but yourself 🌙 **This Month’s Theme: Letting Go & Trusting Life** This topic feels deeply personal to me. From a young age, many of us are taught to strive, push and fight for what we want and in many ways, that serves us. But what happens when life doesn’t go according to plan? Often, we resist. We fight reality. We shut down. We tell ourselves: *“It wasn’t supposed to be this way.”* So much of our energy gets drained trying to control outcomes, undo what has already happened or force certainty where there is none. And all of that is taking us away from the present moment and enjoying life. In this circle, we’ll gently explore where the need to control shows up in our lives, how we respond to uncertainty or disappointment and what it means to soften our grip and trust the flow of life a little more. This is a space to reflect, share, and reconnect with the possibility that life is not always something to force but sometimes something to meet, trust and move with. ### ✨ What to Expect: * A grounding **meditation & breathwork** to help you arrive in the moment * A short **introduction to the theme** of the circle * **Mindful exercises** to reflect, feel and reconnect * A **safe, supportive sharing circle** * A closing **visualisation, affirmation & oracle cards** * Warm, soul-led connection with other women walking the path of self-discovery * Optional social afterwards where you can continue connection with others ### 🌀 Why this Circle was Born: “I created this circle because I craved **soulful, nourishing connection** with other women: spaces where we could go deeper than small talk and share from the heart. If you feel that same longing: for truth, presence, sisterhood, then this circle is for you.” ### 🌸 Why Women’s Circles Matter: Female connection is not just emotionally enriching—it’s also *biologically essential*. Research shows that when women gather in safe, supportive spaces, they release **oxytocin**—the bonding hormone—which helps lower stress, build trust, and boost emotional resilience. Strong female friendships and emotional expression are linked to: * Reduced anxiety and depression * Better heart and immune health * A longer, more joyful life In times of stress, women are wired for a “**tend-and-befriend**” response, **we heal in connection**. ### 💫 What to Bring: * An open heart * A journal & pen Let’s sit together, soften, and reconnect with our inner power—**not through doing, but through being.** 🔗 Stay Connected: Join my WhatsApp community to stay in the loop about future circles & classes: 👉 [Click to join](https://chat.whatsapp.com/JSwy4GT3zeM8ywHHR931A1 "https://chat.whatsapp.com/JSwy4GT3zeM8ywHHR931A1") 📸 **Click to follow me on Instagram for more:** fromwithin.aga **About me:** Aga is a **yoga teacher and transformational life coach** devoted to guiding others on the journey from overwhelm to inner peace. Her work supports those with busy, overthinking minds in **creating calm, clarity and confidence:** one breath, one choice, one breakthrough at a time. With her North Node in Scorpio, Aga's soul mission is **all about transformation: letting go of control, trusting the unknown and living from deep inner truth rather than external expectations.** After leaving behind a structured corporate path, she committed to creating a life led by intuition, embodiment and spiritual growth. Her journey has taught her to embrace change, follow the soul’s whispers and live from a place of empowered surrender. Through her women’s circles, Aroma Yoga sessions and coaching, Aga now holds space for others to do the same: to remember who they truly are, reconnect with their inner power, and create lives rooted in **freedom, authenticity and feminine wisdom.**
