. Find us on Facebook to see what's actually happening. Bring your own knitting or crochet project and join other people who enjoy yarn crafts for a relaxing couple of hours on Saturday afternoons.
The 1st Saturday of the month is not an in-person meet-up, but on zoom. All people and all levels welcome, including beginners, whom we are happy to help get started (although we don't run classes). No charge. All you need is some yarn and a crochet hook or a pair of knitting needles. We are very friendly so don't be shy. The venue may change from time to time so please check back on the day before the event to be sure you have it right. We mostly speak English, but people in the group are very international and speak many languages. Looking forward to seeing you.

* I will post the event on Saturday/Sunday evening for the following Saturday.
* I send out a reminder to everyone on Friday.

* In case RSVP is closed (once there are 10-15 people on the waiting list), I might reopen it on Friday, depending on the number of cancellations in the meantime.
* **For everyone on the waiting,** please check your status and messages on Friday evening the latest. I message everyone on the waiting list on Friday.

* If you have any questions then, message me.
***
**A MESSAGE FOR NEWCOMERS:**
*In the three years of hosting this coffee group, I have met many people who struggle with anxieties when coming to an event for the first time. Sometimes, it took them more than one attempt before being able to join.*
*Occasionally, people reach out to me before the event, and I have always been grateful for that as it offers the opportunity to communicate with each other and to find the best and most gentle way for that person to join the group.*
*I would like to encourage everyone who struggles with this to contact me before. It would really be too bad if you can't join us, as it mostly gets better the second or third time you come.*
*In addition to that, if you arrive and notice any signs of nervousness or fear, you can always let me know right then.*
**THANK YOU AND SEE YOU ALL ON Saturday!**
Football match at Parc du Cinquantenaire
If you have a ball, please bring it...
Let's gather at the Parc du Cinquantenaire close to the Tour de Tournai (https://goo.gl/maps/RsxFtTJydq92) and organize a *low-level* football match on the grass. Unless it rains badly as we're about to play, the game is on.
Players of any age, weight, sex and size are allowed. Come as you are, at any time after 4pm.
IMPORTANT REMINDER -- As Shitty Players, we don't bite or growl when someone misses the ball. We don't do penalties or yellow cards because we're so gentle we don't need them. We vaguely know of the existence of other rules like off-side but we'd rather ignore them than argue about them. We may or may not keep track of the score: this is a game where everyone wins.
To help build the Team, come with 2 t-shirts white and black (or similar colors: light grey and dark blue etc). Beer session will follow on the grass, for those who survive till the end.

Games: š² The pub has a fair collection of games. Feel free however to bring any of your own favorites.
Food & Drinks: Le Pantin serves only drinksšøšŗš¹, however youāre also welcome to bring your own snacks šš©šæ to enjoy during the games.
Ordering: š¤ At least one drink is mandatory - this is how we support cool places like this!
Timing: ā±ļø We kick off at 14:00, and youāre welcome to stay for as many games as you like. Joining later? Just let me know in advance in the chat so we donāt slow down the start š
š¦If you find yourself on the waiting list but you absolutely want to join or if you have any other question - feel free to contact me directly via the chat.
š¢ Further details may be shared via the group chat or via DM š¬. Make sure to check your messages š at least on the day before the event to avoid missing any mega important š announcements.
šā⬠The Friends Code:
š Which games are played will be agreed by the group
šDepending on preferences and group size we usually split into several tables
š Got a favorite game? Bring it along or drop a suggestion in your reply
š Can't make it? Cancel on time so someone on the waitlist can grab your spot
š Don't show up (or show up at your own risk:) if you are on the waiting list. There may be no space for extra players and you risk to get disappointed.
See you folks š
Garden BBQ and Chat (Italiano, Japanese, Thai, French, English, EspaƱol)šš„
Spring is doing its yearly cameo in Brussels, so weāre stealing the good weather for a **small garden BBQ**: grill smoke, laughs, new friends, and language switching mid-sentence like civilized chaos.
Weāll mostly keep the conversations centered on food: what you brought, how itās cooked back home, weird national traditions, and the kind of basic ānice to meet youā talk that works in any language. The goal is easy language practice, meeting new people, and having a good time. Jokes and funny trivia are welcome, as long as you can behave like an adult.
This is a **bring & share** setup: you show up with something tasty, you leave with new words, new people, and probably the strong opinion that your country does BBQ better (youāre welcome to defend that position).
### **The vibe**
* Backyard BBQ, relaxed and social
* Language exchange baked into the night (talk, eat, switch languages, repeat)
* Cultural food is strongly encouraged: bring your āthis is what we eat at homeā item
### **Languages**
Host is fluent in **English, Italian, French, Spanish**, and has basics of **Russian, Croatian, Serbian, Japanese**. If you speak anything else, bring it. We collect languages like PokƩmon.
### **What to bring (Bring & Share)**
* Food + drinks for you **AND** something to share
* Bonus points for something from your culture
* If youāre bringing veggie stuff, make it something people actually want to eat.
### **If you donāt want to bring food**
Message the host in WhatsApp. You can pay a **small fee** instead and still eat like a functional adult.
### **Contribution**
**ā¬2 per person** to cover wood/charcoal. Yes, even in 2026 humans still pay for fire.
### **Location (shared privately)**
The address is shared **only** with confirmed RSVPs who:
1. Join the CLUB WhatsApp chat
2. Send a quick intro: first name + languages + what youāre into
WhatsApp link: https://chat.whatsapp.com/F2hTxZ4TT3hHICiihX1Efy
### **Rules (because humans)**
* **Not a dating meetup.**
* This is not an āNPC meetupā where everyone tiptoes around like theyāre negotiating a hostage release. People can talk freely and share opinions. **No censorship, no tone-policing, no drama farming.**
* **No creeps. No harassment. No pushing after a āno.ā No weird DMs.**
* Respect the hostās home, neighbors, and the group.
* If you act shady, youāre out. Simple.

Deep Conversation-- Question Chosen in Session
Welcome to our weekly event in the upstairs room of The Sister CafƩ, rue Chair et Pain 3, one block from the Grand Place. Please get there early enough to order your drink at the bar first. Thank you!
After introductions we will collect questions from the group participants, choose one by voting then discuss it for an hour. Then most of us stay for drinks and bizarre conversations.
Past questions have been wide and not confined to academic philosophy:
What is a genuine friend?
Is social media turning us into emotional zombies?
Do we lose some of the experience of things by defining them?
Are we driven by sex?
Is loneliness a personal failure?
Is morality relative?
**Crucially, be kind and respectful and generous** in your disagreements; remember how much you personally enjoy someone else proving you wrong before celebrating your cutting counterexamples.

Comedy Night + Open Mic (Bring Wine)
**Comedy Night + Open Mic + Freestyle**: Tristan Shae and friends return to entertain us and to warm the group up for our open mic session. February's Open Mic / Comedy Night was a smash hit and it's worth a second night.
We'll start with Tristan Shae and a couple of his friends. Tristan is an alternative comic from Columbus, Ohio. A counselor by day, Tristan explores how comedy can improve mental health by telling jokes and stories that muse on how absurd life can be from squeaky clean topics to not so clean ones. Tristan produces the variety show Cheaper Than Therapy, hosts the weekly Problem Child Alt Comedy Open Mic at The Attic, and can be found engaging in all sorts of silliness around the city from stand up shows at The Nest Theater, The Attic, or The Funny Bone, to improv and sketch shows with various groups at various venues such as The Hashtag Comedy Club.
