Winery Visit - Sunset Hills
Winery Visit - Sunset Hills
Friends, it's time to head back to Sunset Hills to enjoy an afternoon sipping wine and enjoying this lovely winery. We will be sitting at a table under the pavilion, where there is also live music. "Once a working Amish farm, Sunset Hills Vineyard offers old-world charm with spectacular sunsets and mountain views, ample lawn areas to spread out and enjoy, and a stunning restored Amish barn surrounded by beautiful vineyards." [WEBSITE](https://www.sunsethillsvineyard.com/Your-Visit) [FOOD MENU](https://www.sunsethillsvineyard.com/Menus/Food-Menu) As an FYI - their warm ciabatta bread is especially yummy! Outside food is allowed under the pavilion if you'd prefer. If bring sharables, please leave a message as to what you are bringing so we don't have duplicates. As an FYI - their warm ciabatta bread is especially yummy! I will need to limit this to 8 ppl. to avoid paying for a reservation. So please keep your RSVP's updated so that others can enjoy your spot if unable to attend.

Humans discuss AI over coffee
Humans discuss AI over coffee
Our first Technoverts meetup had a great turnout, so we're doing it again, this time with an optional conversation theme: **How people are actually using AI in everyday work and life**. This is not a panel or presentation, and I do not have a fixed agenda, it's just a relaxed coffee conversation for people in tech (or tech-adjacent fields) who are curious about practical AI use cases, useful tools, workflow hacks, weird experiments, and what's generally helping people right now. *Topics might include:* * AI tools people actually use at work * Productivity and automation * Prompting successes and failures * Writing, coding, research, analytics and creative use cases * What feels overhyped vs. genuinely useful. No expertise is required. It's completely fine to come mostly curious, skeptical, or just interested in meeting thoughtful people in tech. *What to expect:* * Low pressure conversation * A mix of tech talk and normal conversation Location: (Subject to change as I do more research) High Point Pub Tyson's Whole Foods, 1635 Boro Pl. (This is the cafe space on the second floor of the Whole Foods at the Boro, Tysons. Parking is free in the garage with validation). Time: 11 am (this is when the cafe opens). Everyone covers their own coffee/snacks. I'll arrive early and grab a table and will post details about location in the event discussion. Address: 1635 Boro Pl. Whole Foods 2nd Floor Cafe
Tyson's Outing
Tyson's Outing
Let us check it out! * We booked the area by the patio, in the back bar, for this event * Drink specials including the usual suspect Mer-Tini:) * Event is 21+ * Come one, come all; this is the most friendliest event you have ever attended! * Feel free to invite your friends. They don't necessarily have to be a member

Let's see a new band at the Winery at Sunshine Ridge
Let's see a new band at the Winery at Sunshine Ridge
Inspired by masterful rock bands of the 70’s & 80’s, the Darby Brothers grew up listening to many of the songs still played on the radio today. Four brothers, from several different mothers, thrown together in a life journey to inspire and speak through music. They grew up together, went to school together, hang out together and share a passion for great music. The Darby Brothers recreate epic songs from Journey, Zeppelin, Queen, Foreigner, The Doors., Hendrix, Petty and many more. We will get there at 2:30 to grab a couple tables in front of the stage. Bring a chair for added comfort. The band starts at 3:00. Since we will be outside everyone can bring food to share. If you prefer to purchase food the winery offers, charcuterie, flatbreads and hot pretzels. In addition there will be a food truck. Nestled on Lake Manassas in Gainesville VA, The Winery at Sunshine Ridge Farm is the only local winery with a breathtaking lakefront view. Their locally grown grapes and variety of wines offer something for every wine enthusiast. Their farm winery has grapes, fruit and hops planted to produce some delicious craft beverages. There is always something new being brewed!
Mark Rust - A Multi‑Instrumental Night to Remember
Mark Rust - A Multi‑Instrumental Night to Remember
If you love musicians who can tell a story, lift a room, and make you feel like you’ve known them forever, come meet Mark Rust. Jessica first heard him in a college coffeehouse in Troy, NY decades ago — now he’s bringing that same magic to our house concert series. Mark Rust sings with strength and clarity, accompanying himself on guitar, piano, banjo, fiddle, mountain and hammered dulcimer. His charismatic personality combined with a delightful blend of wit and humor, creates a clear and consistent image of the world as he wants it to be. His love for his audience is genuinely conveyed and immediately returned. Mark captivates his audience and quickly makes them an integral part of the performance, and in that moment, they become his family. Yet, the songs, the voice, and the instruments, are still not the whole story. Mark infuses his concerts with an infectious sense of fun as he shares his down-home anecdotes and humorous stories. In the end, you have been treated to a voyage through your own experiences during an evening that is both memorable and moving. His music will touch your heart and leave you laughing. **Come make friends at our dessert and drink potluck! Please bring a dessert or beverage to share!** ***Details with our address and other info will be sent to you before June 6th.*** **Doors open at 7:00 pm. Music will begin \~7:45 pm.** **We kindly ask you leave your shoes at the door.** Wear your craziest socks to win a prize! Boring socks are...boring! :) **Suggested donation: $25-30/person (100% of all contributions are given directly to the musician) (Cash or Venmo)** More about Mark: Mark Rust comes from a musical family. His grandmother immigrated to America in the 1920's, and later opened a nightclub called "Swiss Trudy's." Everyone in the family performed in the musical acts. As Mark grew, he joined the family’s entertainment. Over the next many years, the Rust family traveled and performed widely at concerts and festivals. Mark has become a versatile performer on a variety of instruments. He possesses solid proficiency on guitar, piano, banjo, fiddle, mountain dulcimer, and hammered dulcimer.
